Mar put her on her bed, partially falling on her as his foot got caught on the rug. He laid over her, only inches between them. He smiled, standing. Pulling a blanket to cover her, he sat in a chair looking outside. 'Sabonth, do you think there will be any long term damage with her keep hitting her head? I mean, it isn't good for her.'

Sabonth looked at Mar, slightly amused. "What do you think? The girl is very hard-headed and stubborn. I doubt you could tell the difference!" Sabonth flew off threw the ceiling laughing in her wake.

Mar laughed. 'True,' he thought. He waited for her to wake up, looking out the window into the distance, the endless lands. He sighed. He loved being outdoors, in the wild, but he was now forced to remain indoors, training. He hated the city most of all, so full of lies and vermin. Though he benefited from these things, he did not particularly enjoy them.

Kalri woke slowly. "I guess you think me a mess." she spoke softly. "Sometimes that is the only way to quiet them. The castle makes it worse because along with the voices of the darkness, I can hear everyone within the castle walls. It is getting worse lately. I can't shut out there thoughts or feelings as well since the darkness is getting stronger. I don't understand it."

Mar looked back at Karli as she spoke. He knew she struggled, and he felt no one should have to deal with that kind of pain at her age. "Think you are a mess? No. Know you are? Yes," he teased, standing and walking to her. "How do you feel?"

She laughed, rubbing her head. "Well my head hurts and on the upside, I can't hear any voices, thoughts or feelings now over the throbbing in it."

Mar laughed, making a small drink and giving it to her. "I want to try something," he said. "I want to see the effects. It is up to you if you want to though. I will tell you now, that drink is drugged. If you drink it, you wont be able to access your magic. You know what can happen, it is up to you to try it."

Kalri looked at him disbelievingly. "But if I don't have my magic...I will be totally vulnerable." She looked to him panicked. She wanted to stop the voices but she was scared.

Mar looked levelly at her. "I am here, and so is Sabonth. You are in your father's castle, and no one is expecting to see you for longer than it would take for the drugs to wear off. You will be safe, I swear it."

Kalri slowly shook her head. She took the cup from Mar and drank it. When she finished, she lay on top of the bed with her hand on her head.

Mar sat on the edge of the bed, looking at her. "Take deep breaths, let the drug take effect."

Kalri breathed deeply as he told her. She waited to feel the effects. Slowly, she began to feel as if a light fog was crossing over her mind. "Mar. I don't feel so good." Her head spun slowly causing her to be dizzy. She reached her hand out to him.

Mar took her hand, helping her to sit up. "Face over the edge of the bed," he said, helping her to swing her legs over.

Her head was spinning as she wobbled slightly. Sitting on the edge of the bed she waited for the feeling to fade. The color drained from her face. Her eyes did not focus. "Mar is it supposed to feel like this?" She felt as if she were going to fall over.

Mar nodded. "Sometimes. The effects vary from person to person. I needed to see how you reacted to it. I am sorry," he said, putting his hand on her shoulder. "If you feel your stomach wanting to empty, go ahead, so long as it is not on me."
