"I'm fine," Marola growled. But just at that moment, her light-headedness increased to the point where she had to lean against the wall behind her for support. I have to get out of here, she thought, I have to leave before it becomes any more obvious. Everyone can tell there's something wrong. I have to leave so I can protect him...

Tomas frowned as she leaned against the wall, "Sure, do you need help? I have nothing pressing to do at the moment."

At the moment, Marola wanted nothing more than to refuse his help, for numerous reasons. She didn't want to admit that there was anything wrong with her. But more than that, she didn't want any help, believing it showed weakness. But she really did feel weak at the moment. She reluctantly said, "Fine...if you could please help me to my quarters, I would be much obliged."

Just then Balthazar turned the corner to see Marola Zak and Tomas. He walked over to Marola.
"You are just the person I was looking for. I was wondering if you would like to accompany me on a slight mission. I know you are feeling a little bit ill but maybe getting out of the city and getting some fresh air might do you some good." said Balthazar putting an emphasis on the word out that only Marola with her elf like hearing would be able to hear. To any others it would sound as if there was no change in Balthazar's tone.
"I have spoken with the king and he has given me permission to bring any two or three riders with me on this mission and you were at the top of my list. And I am sorry Zak but you will have to wait here for her return. I am afraid that you would only slow us down. If you have any problems you can take it up with the king but I doubt he would want his most recent orders questioned. Also, if you feel uncomfortable leaving your post for Marola's own good then surely she would be more then safe when accompanied by three other riders and their dragons as well as her own dragon...unless there is a different reason you need to stay by her side I don't see any problems with this. So, what do you say Marola. If you say yes then we leave in two hours. If no, then I will simply have to find different riders."

Marola considered Balthazar's words, amazed at the sudden changes in her fortune. She contemplated his words carefully. Does he know? was her first thought, then she immediately decided that he couldn't know. Whatever this mission is, I could leave either before or immediately after it is finished and slip away to Gil'ead. I only hate having to trick a friend in such a way. Still, she decided this would be for the best. "I accept your offer to go with you," she told Balthazar in a smooth and even voice, betraying the fact that her head was pounding more ferociously than before.

"Great. I will find some more riders to join us. Meet me and the other riders at the gates of the city in two hours. From there we will take off towards the north. I will explain the details of the mission while we fly."
Balthazar promptly turned around and walked away to find the other two riders that would be joining him in his mission. He then stopped and turned back around.
"I am sorry Tomas. I did not offer you this opportunity. Would you like to accompany use on this mission. If you say yes then it will relieve a great deal of work for myself."

"Sure, I will go with you. It must be a big thing, if you are taking three riders with you. I'll meet you at the gate." He commented to Zephyr. A new mission. Good.

A few hours later Balthazar came down to the gate alone to meet with Tomas and Marola.
"None of the other riders wanted to go so it will only be the three of us on this mission. Now, before we go I think its best to know that we fly for Du Weldenvarden. I have descovered a way to attack the elvish cities and not be stopped by the wards. Now, If you do not want to come along then stay here, but I must go."
Just then Silva landed and Balthazar jumped unto her back.
"Now, let us who are leaving be off."
Silva took off and began to fly north."

Marola climbed atop Rauthr and he took off gently, slowly gaining in his speed so Marola wouldn't feel ill. Du Weldenvarden! she thought to Rauthr as they flew north after Silva. Since we are already heading north, it will be easier to divert our course to Gil'ead, Rauthr put in. Marola agreed. We'll fly there tonight, while the others are resting...if we are caught, we can give the excuse that we are simply wishing to fly together. It was agreed upon.

Balthazar and Silva landed as the sun set and began to set up camp. He started a fire with magic for warmth and so that the others could cook if they wanted. He then sat down on a dead tree stump and began to eat his meal, a bowl of fruit and some water.
"So, we will reach Du Weldenvardn by midday tomorrow. I think it best if I describe the plan to you in detail. We will enter the forest on foot to avoid some of the wards there. Then we will fly with as much speed as we can in between two of the elvish cities. Our dragons will burn as much of the forest as they can. When we reach the wards around a city we do not try to pentrate them. Instead have your dragons burn the forest all around the city. The elves inside will be trapped and the fire will weaken the wards. Then we cast magic directly into the city. This will begin the burning from both inside and outside the city. When we have finished or if for ANY reason you think you will fall or that anything has gone wrong we will split up and retreat. The meeting place will be Gil'ead as it is the northernmost city in the empire before Du Weldenvarden. Now, are there any questions?"

Tomas leaned back. "It is a good plan, thought which cites are we attacking?"

Hiendall smiled,"I don't truly believe you but I'll leave it at that." He waved at her and left the room and the tavern. He walked all the way to the city's gates and signaled Crym to start coming. After a few minutes Crym was their and happy to see him. They didn't dare talk and flew off as soon as the straps where set.Hiendall was tired and decided to take a nap when a warning roar was heard from afar.A young red dragon was barreling straight forward them.Suddenly both their dragons where intertwined in battle. ************************************************** Malar had seen the enemy dragon from afar and he and Buast decided on an attack. He hoped Buast could handle the slightly bigger female dragon. He took out his longswords and battled the elven rider. He reflectively cringed when he saw the dragon chest plate and his sword rebounded off it.After a couple of minutes they where still tied when he dealt the killing blow.Buast had landed a horrible scratch and with a second of distraction he sliced Hiendall's head off.Crym became saddened then angry, but that sadness had been her downfall Buast finished her with a jaw bite to her skull. ***************************************************** Daed felt a twinge in his heart and knew Hiendall had died. His pupil and his dragon both dead.Fury and pain flowed through Dead and he felt he was going to burst.

"I have decided to attack a small unnamed village about a hundred miles from Elesmera. It will show that the plan is sound and we will not be in any danger. The wards are still there but the village has no soldiers or even any strong spellweavers as the have refused any help from the larger cities in the elven territory."

Something about Balthazar's plan bothered Marola. To attack an unarmed villiage, to leave innocent civilians to die...she didn't know why she cared, but she did. She leaned back against Rauthr. I would leave tonight if I could...why did Balthazar have to pick Gil'ead as the meeting place? I only complicates things, because he will most likely find me. I don't know, Rola, Rauthr said, placing his head next to her. Don't spend too much time worrying about it, though. We'll find a way to keep you there. Thanks, I-- Marola stopped in mid-thought and her hand flew to her stomach for a second. She did her best to contain a gasp. But it was over as suddenly as it started. Rauthr gave her a concerned glance. I'm fine, she assured him, It as just a little spasm...we'll both be fine.
