One Less

Lyo swore at himself angry for having left his mask at the camp.He couldn't go back so he climbed over the gate when the guards turned their back.He stalked the shadows heading towards the palace that held Tierm's councilmen.He surveyed the house and noted where each and every guard was.Easily bypassing the first guardsmen and climbing to the upper level.Two inside guards spotted him rounding a hall and his whip stole their tongues and his sword stole their lives.He stayed clear of any more guards and slipped into the councilman's bed chamber.The man was awake and charged at him yelling,"Galbatorix will avenge me."Those where his last words before Lyo's sword ripped into his chest and he whispered,"Galbatorix is a beast.I kill beast."
A little while later:
Gural I'm home how is Mia?Ah little one it is good to see you are still alive and she is well and sleeping.Lyo smiled and walked into the encampment and looked at Mia sleeping beside Gural.Their is one less person to help Galbatorix and one less person to oppose the new order.I know and I m proud of you my friend of the heart, but next time let me come.Its time to sleep bigger one we will talk about it in the morning.He lied down near Mia and closed his eyes.

Marcus stood in the Spine, lying against the ground. His ear was pressed against the dirt. He heard footsteps. He reached out cautiously with his mind and felt three beings. One was a dragon. He would have to be careful there. Another was a young man, who he assumed was the Rider. Then he felt his target: the little girl. He cautiously got up and carefully guarded his mind. He touched the pin on his cloak, feeling the green gem upon it. He thought of his brother for half and instant before he threw the memory from his mind. He needed to focus. The Black Hand needed as many children as they could get for Galbatorix's service.
Why does it seem they are always girls? he wondered, remembering when he had to trick the young girl in Teirm to come with him. He stood still and waited for absolute darkness to come.

Lyo awoke when Mia moved beside him.He opened his eyes to see she was moving restlessly most likely because of the slavery nightmares.He woke her up and strapped her to Gural's saddle.Gural take her flying like we normally do she is having those dreams again.Gural nodded his head and sent his mind into Mia's to calm her.Lyo also noticed that he had slept for about three hours and it was around midnight.He pulled his mask out from Gural's pack before he left.Your not going to attack Tierm again.No Gural I'm just going to see whats happening.Just before they took off Lyo heard a rustle in the brush.

Marcus hid in the underbrush near the small camp. He watched as the man strapped the small girl to the saddle of the dragon, and he cursed silently. He would never be able to get the girl now. He moved ever so slightly, but it caused enough noise to attract the attention of the man, who had stayed behind. He backed away slowly, gripping his contracted fighting pike in preparation, just in case he was seen.

Lyo passed the noise off as nothing and turned to the still sleepy Mia,"Your going to go fly with Gural now while I go check on my previous job."Mia nodded and brightened at the thought of flying.Gural jumped and took off making Lyo jump out of the way.Lyo laughed and slipped on his blue cloth mask which immediately fitted to his skin."Time to see how Tierm's doing," he whispered and started to walk forward.

Marcus watched the man as he left. He passed beside him, almost close enough to touch. Marcus kept his mind hidden behind barriers, making sure to keep his presence there a secret. He had to find some way to get that girl alone. He did not relish the though of having to fight a dragon, though he would if there was no other choice.

After a few more minutes of fast walking he was out of the Spine and viewing Tierm which from the noise was still in chaos from losing one of their leaders.He climbed over the unprotected gate and made his way into the city.

Once the man was out of sight, Marcus sneaked into the camp, mostly to see what he could learn about the Rider, dragon, and most importantly the girl.
OOC: hmm...what are we supposed to be doing???

Lyo slipped through the alleyways until he went back to the palace and saw the city police around the place searching.He decided on a little action.He amazingly slipped by the police and got up to the room of the dead councilman.He thought the second in command would be in their and was proven correct when he burst through the door.Two guards where around the man and asking his questions when he pulled out his longsword and killed them."So it was you who has killed my mentor the famous Blue Assassin," the man sneered."You know what I'll let you live but you must promise me this you will tell the Empire of this," Lyo replied unfazed by the man's defiance.The man unknown to Lyo sent mental warnings to the Empire and downstairs.Lyo heard the commotion and quickly killed the man.He jumped out of the window and after rolling ran full speed out of the city and to the Spine with the police hot on his heels.

OOC: we need someone else here or something.
Marcus had just finished going through the camp when he heard loud noises coming his way. Quick as a human could, he left the camp and climbed a nearby tree. There he would wait until an opportune time to nab the kid and take him to the Black Hand.

Lyo burst through into his camp and bolted off to the right wondering hoe he was going to escape.He noticed the patrol stopped and started to head back and assumed it was because it was the Spine.He headed back to his camp and called Gural down.
