Fayr smiled understanding most of the story now. The holes in her story filled up slightly, but he knew that some information was being with held. His hand idly ran through his black hair as he thought over his next question. "Your country is quite unique. It is strange how they would let someone not of import ants to touch a dragon egg and that the royal family didn't harbor the egg as soon as it was given. Why is that, and what was this rider's name?" His eyes looked into her's questioningly.

Tenel Ka did finally smile at this. He was very close to guessing who she was, but she could still worm her way out of this. And without lying, as well. "I do not recall saying that someone of importance never touched it. Nearly every member of the royal house has handled the dragon egg, and other important people of our government. The Rider's name is Tenel Ka, and I was entrusted with its care because Tismri trusts me."

Fayr could sense the girl was being dodgy. Her smile didn't help her either. She had that no emotional face that only assassins or people in the government used. So that would mean Tenel Ka was either a noble or someone in the government. Fayr's eyebrows rose upon hearing Tismri's name. That rider had been around here before and people were talking about her and some incidents she was in. " I have heard of Tismri. She had to calm down this very strange elf a week or so ago. He was tall, long white haired, crazy as hell, and powerful. Did you meet him too?"

Tenel Ka shook her head slightly at the question. "No, I do not recall that incident, " she told him, "it may have occured before my arrival. I only arrived a few days ago."

Fayr nodded he knew it happened before she arrived he just wanted to know if she knew where the guy was. Hiei for some reason wanted to know badly. Something about the only guy who could teach him what he wanted. "Good some of the Varden might not trust you that much if you were associated with him." He laughed then as his stomach rumbled loudly he smiled sheepishly. "Want to grab a bite to eat? It is on me."

Tenel Ka nodded graciously at the offer. "After that round of fighting, I could do with something to eat," she said. She glanced up at the sky, noting some of the clouds overhead. It was still very hot, much warmer than she was used to. She missed the temperate weather of her home. It was almost suffocatingly hot here, and she didn't enjoy it very much.

"Good! How about a tavern I know?" Fayr smiled but he caught something in her glance to the sky and thought what the hey! With but an emotion he sent out a blast of chilling air toward Tenel Ka. His gift was something that set him apart but he loved it no matter what."That a little better?"

OOC: you're doing the mind reading thing again. But oh well, I'll let it go for now. lol
Tenel Ka found the blast of icy wind refreshing, breathing in deeply as her hair whipped around. She nodded to Fayr. "Thank you," she told him, "I think that was the best gift I have ever received in my life."

occ: I was going to do it anyways so I gave it a reason and well I'm just guessing since she wasn't used to it you might have appeared uncomfortable.
Fayr raised his eyebrow then laughed as he started to lazily walk forward. "You must have had some horrible gifts then in your life." He chuckled as he looked forward and slowly covered ground his bodily moving slow yet with a precise fluidity. His black hair fell loosely as he nodded his head with a small beat in his head and his different eyes twinkled in delight.

Tenel Ka smiled at his comment. "Well, it depends on what you consider a 'bad gift,'" she told him. "To me, you have just given me a piece of my home. However, I do take my last comment back. My dragon was the best gift I have ever recieved. But, I assure you, this was very close."

Fayr laughed turning his head slowly and smiled with a chuckle at the edge of his lips. "Well I will say your welcome then. I really do love that little gift of mine." He thought over what she said for a moment then finally came up with the best gift for him. "I think the best gift for me would be something I would be able to use and cherish forever....like a weapon or something." He shook his body in coordination from his shoulders to hip and his weapons jiggled on his body.

Tenel Ka shook her head a little, thinking about what he said. "Weapons eventually break or dull. Friends and family die, kingdoms crumble, even weather changes. Nothing lasts forever. I have learned to be thankful for what I have here and now, knowing that at any moment it might be taken away from me." She knew this was true. In all honesty, her life had been threaten since the day she was born, and before. Any jealous woman in her family might try to kill her, and some have tried. This was why she had trained so hard over the years, to defend herself from her own family. That's the problem with being royalty, she told Caedus, I highly doubt any normal families have problems such as murder among themselves. This is probably very true, Princess, but it makes life all the more exciting, doesn't it? he replied. Tenel Ka said nothing to this.

Fayr listened to her logic but he could see a little fault in it and this is where his ideas came from. She lived in the now when Fayr lived in the all. He cared for the past, future, and present. "Yes change has taken many things from this land. It has caused death, but it had given us the memories. No matter what happens during anytime in are lives we can always have are memories. My blade may dull but I shall remember its feel, friends and family may die but their deed live in my mind, kingdoms fall yet their deeds have carved this land, and weather changes, as I now all to well, yet we all know how the rain feels on are skin and the sun on are backs." He wondered what caused this girl to be so........pessimistic about life. he just loved to be here and to fight.

Tenel Ka thought about how he explained himself, but found she could not quite agree with it. "Yes, we remember," she said carefully, "but this tends to make us miss them and long for them. If they only exist in our memories, then they are not there at all. It is sometimes best to simply forget." Your friend makes a good point, actually, Caedus told her, The memory can be a good thing. Even when it causes you pain? When it makes you feel like you would rather die than live on without them? They silently decided to differ on the subject for now.

Fayr shook his head sadly. She wasn't grasping his point. "That pain makes us mortal and makes us love what we had all the more. Without loss, regret, and pain we would never now how to cherish and love something as we do. To forget would be like dishonoring what these people have done for us even if someone only caused pain and death they should be remembered so we know what not to do in are lives." he gave her a smile and sent a cold blast of wind to remind her of her homeland. "See. I bet you like thinking of your homeland."
