Eron laughed softly, growing ever more amused by Sam's grogginess. She had no doubt that several years down the road she would find it more annoying than anything, but this was the first time she'd ever seen him when he first woke up. "Sounds fine by me," she told him, putting her lips against his. "I'd stay in this spot forever as long as you were here..." Her face twitched. There it was again; that strange sensation of having missed out on two years. It was so odd. ~~~~~ Samara only rolled her eyes as Joshua asked what she was doing here. She held up her fingers to count off her reasons. "One: The Varden just attacked Feinster. Two: Everyone there hates me...I don't know how, but they found out..." her face grew troubled. "They found out whose daughter I was. Three: I don't trust anyone except you." She stared up at Joshua, her admiration for him a cross between that of a sister to older brother and a daughter to a father. He was the closest thing she ever had to eiter. A small smile played at the edge of her face. "And four: There are some really cute boys here in Melian."

Aramis's right eye twitched, a tail that indicated that he was irritated. However, it was not irritation toward the young girl in front of him, but for one main reason: her identity had been leaked! He wanted to growl out in frustration, but he kept his stern and expressonless face in position. "Who exactly found out about you?" He asked, his voice protective of Samara. He would have to exterminate these people if he wanted to keep her safe - he hoped that the Varden did most of the job. He knelt down, just as he did when he had first assured her that he would not harm her. "I will deal with them." He told her, holding his anger in check. "And those cute boys, you seem interested in too..." A flicker of amusement passed across his eyes. He silently sighed after a moment. "We might need to change your appearance...again." He told her as an after thought.
*** Jack wandered around the camp, trying to ignore the throbbing headace she had as she inspected the town and the soldiers.
*** A sly, sleepy smile appeared on his lips as Sam felt Eron's lips on his. He gently kissed back. "Mmhmm, I like that idea too." He felt himself stir to a more awakened state as he deepened their kiss. He stopped after a moment as his brain registered the feeling of the sun creeping lightly on his tent. "It's not passed midday." He grinned at Eron. "Are you trying to neglect your duty, Commander?" He wrapped his arms around her waist a bit tighter as he drew them closer than they already were. "Now, what would your two squadmates think, mm? Did I not teach you anything?" He asked, feeling like his old playful self.

Samara could see Joshua's irritation plain on his face. She frowned; perhaps she shouldn't have mentioned the fact that the family in Feinster found out who she was. The wife had mentioned once during dinner that she had a similar bearing to the Nolan family. At the mention, her face must have paled because they started asking her questions. She tried to brush it off, but before long they found out on their own, and troubles came to her with increasing frequency until finally she was literally thrown out of the house. It seemed to have come at a fortunate time, however; the Varden attacked Feinster less than a week later. She'd heard rumors that their eldest son had been killed in the fight. Samara shook her head at Joshua. "Don't do it," she said. She hated the fact that he killed anyone, especially if it was for her sake. "They're having enough troubles as it is. I wouldn't want to be the cause of anymore misery for them than I've already been." She looked him in the eye, hoping he would agree with her. "As long as I'm gone, they won't care about who I am anymore. There's no need to dig up what they are surely burying now." She grimaced slightly when he mentioned changing her appearance. "You know I hate that," she told him. "The only thing I'd want you to change is make me look like I'm supposed to. Ever since you changed my face...I haven't felt like me anymore. I don't feel right." She sighed. "Is keeping me safe really as complicated as all this? Is any of it really necessary?" ~~~~~ Eron returned Sam's kiss as she wrapped her arms around him. A laugh came from her as he realized what time it really was. "I'm doing nothing of the sort, Captain," she told him. "I just thought...we could use a little more R&R before we start the day." Her eyes sparkled as she considered his question. "You taught me nothing. All my leadership skills came from pure instinct. You were my cheerleader." She winked at him, but then sighed. "I suppose we really should get up now...I have things to do, and I'm sure you do, too."

Aramis arched an eyebrow at Samara as she insisted that he not kill the family that had found out about her. "And you think that you won't have any trouble once the rumor of your existance reaches your father?" His expression softened. "He will come after you - I have to stop it before that happens. And you must remember - they will come after me once they figure out that you are alive." He sighed. "Better me than you; I'll exterminate them before they even think of harming you." He said mostly to himself. He had a promise to keep to her, after all. He sighed once more as she mentioned her appearance. He thought about it for a moment. "You are fourteen now...and growing into a woman. I suppose your looks are not that of the child you are known for." He rubbed the back of his nape as he contemplated his decision. "All right. I'll take the illusion off, but I still think you should keep a different hair color...for now." He reasoned with her. "Just until this Feinstar incident settles and this mission I'm doing as well." He gazed at his young friend tenderly, as a father would his child. "Will that suite you?" He asked her.
*** Sam huffed at the notion of him being a cheerleader. He was nothing of the sort! He narrowed his eyes in a playful way before rolling over Eron, pinning her beneath him. "A cheerleader am I?" His voice was a playful, low, volume, his lips hovering over her's in a teasing manner. "I am anything but a cheerleader! I don't gawk and prance about like a silly girl!" He told her, his voice rising in volume as he became worked up about the matter. "If not for me and my skills, you would have died multiple times!" He proclaimed without thought, but the moment he uttered those words his playful nature vanished, replaced by a regretful, guilty one. He rolled off her, went on his feet, and out of bed. He placed his pants on and as he was gathering their clothes, he slightly turned his side to her. "I should have been there...if...if not for me, you wouldn't have died..." He whispered somberly to her. "...I'm utterly useless." He said in finale as his brain demanded that he have a drink to ease the pain, and he obediantly motioned toward a bottle that was sitting on his table.

Samara sighed in frustration at Joshua. When would he ever start to take her seriously? Especially since his stupid spell kept her features looking childish. She was fourteen, not the scared little kid he found cowering in her bed four years ago. "I know things will be harder for me if he finds out, Joshua," she told him. "But that's a risk I'm willing to take. I just don't want them to suffer any more than they already are." She stared into the eyes of her best friend and protector. "You promised me that you wouldn't kill innocent people anymore. They haven't done anything wrong...Just leave them be." She gave him a delighted smile when he mentioned taking off the spell. "Thankyouthankyouthankyouthankyou!!!!!" she squealed, throwing her arms around him in a tight hug. He had no idea how much it meant to her to get her own face back. ~~~~~ Eron smirked as Sam began to protest that he was not a cheerleader to her. Although it was true that they had watched each other's backs--the entire squad did, really--everyone knew she had a knack for leadership that few possessed. She was nearing a promotion herself, likely would have received one a month or two after that last mission had it not turned into such a disaster. At his sudden change in mood, Eron grew concerned, then angry. She sat up as he walked away. "It wasn't your fault," she told him. "It wasn't yours or Jack's or anyone else's. People die in war, Sam. You know that. Not one of us is safe, and if you were there, nothing you could have done would have changed anything." Her eyes narrowed as he reached for the drink. She marched up to him and yanked the glass out of his hand. "So this is what you've become?" she asked, her voice a mix of fury and incredulity. "The strong man I admire and love became an alcoholic because he was afraid to face reality?" She shook her head and threw the glass across the tent. "And even now that I'm here again, you still turn to it. By the gods, Sam, be a man and get over it!"

Aramis nodded his head thoughtfully as Samara reminded him of his promise to her. "Aye, I won't harm the innocent; I gave you my word." He kindly replied before being attacked by her strong, yet gentle arms. "Hey!" He chuckled as she hugged him. He wrapped his arms around her. A few years ago he would have found the contact very unnerving and unnatural, however, Samara had made it a habit to hug him...a lot. He supposed he got used to it after so long. "All right, all right. I'm glad I can make you happy, now, let go so I can take the spell off." He chuckled, despite his attempt to act indifferent about the affection.
*** Sam glowered at Eron as the drink was tossed from him. His glare increased with each word; anger building. "You think it was easy for me to move on!?" His voice bellowed. "I tried!" He continued to yell. "You think I had enjoyed the idea that the love of my life died!? I DIED THAT DAY!" The volume of his voice increased. He stared down at her, seething and then, a flicker of pain streaked across his eyes. "It was like I couldn't breathe...nothing had life or color for me anymore. I pushed myself to get up each day...knowing that you would have wanted me to do...knowing that our work was not yet finished." His voice had lost all anger and had died down to a mere whisper. His sad eyes couldn't bear to stare her in the face, so he settled to look anywhere but her eyes. "Every night...I would...I would talk to you...asking questions about why the Gods separated us...why it was your life and not mine that was taken...if I should have another drink..." He scoffed. "It went like that for months...until one day...you started to talk back..." His eyes grew distant as he reflected those first painful months after her death. "I knew I had gone crazy...and this..." He disgustingly gestured to the bottles of liquor, "was the only thing that could keep me barely functional."A rough hand rubbed the light stubble that was growing on his chin. A pained sigh escaped his mouth. "It was unbearable for me. You think me strong, Eron, but my strength died the moment you were stolen from me." His eyes flickered to her's finally. "I'm not the same man you once knew." Was the only explanation he could offer her.

Samara took Joshua's words as promise enough that he would leave the family alone. With this word, she was content. She let him go and stood back, smiling as she waited for Joshua to take the spell off, positively bouncing with excitement. ~~~~~ Eron listened silently as Sam explained his feelings to her, her face as hard as a rock. She never expected such from him; his love and devotion, sure, but this seemed an almost unhealthy need for her. It was troubling to discover that he relied upon her for so much. "You're right," she said, her voice icy. "You're not the man I once knew. Or maybe I never even knew you at all. This is too much for me to take in; a few days ago we were laughing and planning our wedding. Today I don't know this man before my eyes. I need time...and I think you need time, too, for us both to sort this out." She dressed quickly and turned to leave the tent. "Goodbye, Captain. Until next time."

OOC: Wow...Shepard is...um...very independant. lol Go Girl Power! lol
Aramis managed a small smile at Samara's excitement. "All right, here goes; remember, you need to be more careful. No more running about so carelessly, and you must not find me so easily; I'm on a mission right now. Okay, Samara?" He asked the girl as he continued to kneel in front of her, pondering on the spell that he needed to summon. After a moment, Aramis knew the words he needed and began his chant in the Ancient Language. He could feel the power flow through him as the magic began, his hands glowing a dull green as he hovered over Samara's face...
*** Sam blinked as Eron exited his tent. A mixture of anger, hurt, and shock all running through him. Did Eron just end their relationship? After everything they went through? After last night? The thought alone was far more painful than the news of her supposed death two years ago; no, this was the pain of rejection...of knowing that the object of his affections had run off on her own accord. He stared at his hands in remorse. What had he become? Where was the man that knew his path? Where was his purpose? True, he had vowed to rid Galbatorix so that no one else could feel the pain of a lost one again...but...was it bent on revenge? Or was it really what he believed? His thoughts staggered on his father...and anger coursed through him. He grunted. So much has changed. He staggered over to his chair, tempted to take a drink, but the image of Eron yelling at him stopped his hand. How had it come to this? He groaned and leaned back into his chair. "I'm so screwed up." He muttered, closing his eyes and covering them with a rough hand.
*** Jack continued her morning errands of inspecting the troops and making sure they had their needed supplies until Surda sent them aide. She was also making sure that the healers went about to help the casualities of the Melian battle. She sighed. She never thought she would be in this position two years ago...a Lieutenant in the army...taking and giving orders. She never liked that; she was more of an action girl. She silently wondered how her old friends were doing...especially Thane, besides Shepard, she felt closest to him. "He better not be dead right now..." She muttered as she headed over to Captain Riker for the morning report. She really hoped that he wasn't drunk...or better yet, a sly smile appeared on her lips, she really hoped that she wasn't interrupting anything. She vaguely remembered not seeing Shepard last night either.
As she neared the Captain's tent, she spotted Eron exiting it...and on closer inspection, she noticed something on her neck. Oh, she was not going to let her Commander hear the end of this. Her sly smile grew more devious as she met up with her supposed dead friend.
"Well, well, this was never something I expected to see...Commander Shepard leaving the Captain's tent in the wee hours of the morning....you know...you still own me some details..." She teased as she waltzed her way beside her friend.

OOC: She's just having a hard time adjusting to everything. She needs time to come to terms with everything.
Samara had a hard time keeping still as Joshua's magic took effect. She felt her face reshaping itself, her features not just reassembling, but maturing. She wasn't the same as she was before he changed her, but she felt right again. This was exactly how she was supposed to look. Once he was finished, she looked up into his eyes, her thankfulness and excitement gleaming. She flashed him a dazzling smile. "Well?" she asked, twirling around, "How do I look?" ~~~~~ Eron had to use all her military training to restrict the tears that threatened to spill. All her life, she had never felt so confused. So much had changed while she was out; how could she ever catch up again? Seeing Sam in such a state, blaming himself for her death and drinking to block out the pain of it...It was too much for her. She loved him, so much. But things were different now. Utterly, completely, and hopelessly different. Then a familiar, teasing voice drew her out of her foggy thoughts. The smallest of smiles twitched on her face as Jack loped over next to her and started prying. "I owe you nothing of the sort," Eron replied. "You really should learn to mind your own business. Find yourself a boyfriend or something." She would have laughed had it not been for the shout-out she'd just had with Sam. She wonder it Jack had heard any of it. Not wanting to think on it for the moment, lest Jack ask more delicate questions, she changed the topic. "I can't stick around here, you know," she said. "The people who...save me...They did it for a reason. They have a mission they want me to fulfill, and I owe it to them for having saved my life." She kicked a pebble at her feet, wondering. Did she dare ask? "It would be nice to have someone familiar with me while I do this," she stated. "Someone I know I can trust."

OOC: Haha, yeah I know, I was just teasing. =p
Aramis couldn't help but smile as Samara delighted in having her own face again. He hid his exhaustion as she twirled for her. That spell took more energy than he had supposed. It was probably because that spell had been in effect for 4 years now. His smile broadened as he steadied her features. She had matured into a fine young woman now. He wondered if he should start teaching her some self defense, now that she was older. He also wondered if she was adept in magic...would explain her uncanny knack of finding him whenever he was around. "You look like you." He replied warmly. "How do you feel?" He asked, hoping that no side effects of magic lingered.
*** "Oh, come on, Eron! I know something happened. That little red mark on your neck is a dead give away." Jack teased as she walked beside her friend. She snorted at the mention of a boyfriend. "Bah. Lovers are overrated..." She uttered defiantly, but her next words were more...forlorn? "Besides...there aren't many men who would appreciate their women having the capability of beating them to a pulp or having scars..." She sighed. "Besides, its more fun teasing you than trying to appease a man." She added, trying to sound more cheerful. Jack tilted her head at Shepard's next words. She arched an eyebrow. "They don't sound trustworthy to me, Commander. Are you sure what they want you to do is for the benefit of the Varden?" She asked her Commander as she watched the pebble bounce away. Her face turned more thoughtful at the invitation of joining her. "You have my blades and my fists, Commander; you've always have...but..." She hesitated. Did she dare tell her about Samuel? "Um, I'll go with you, but we'll have to get Thane or Tali here to watch the Captain." She explained cautiously. "They're the only ones who, um, understand his full situation." She hoped Eron didn't ask too many questions about the past two years; it was rough for all of them, but especially on the Captain, and it wasn't just because Eron disappeared.

Samara smiled sweetly at Joshua as he replied to her question. He was such a kind man; she always wondered how he had ended up becoming an assassin. It didn't seem to suit him at all. "I feel perfect," she told him. "Okay, I'm a little dizzy from my face and everything reshaping, but it's fine. I'm me again." She threw her arms around him again, showing her appreciation. He truly was like an older brother, or a caring father. She never was sure how to think of him since she never actually had either. She backed away a couple of inches and looked at him. She could tell he was tired, probably from the magic. "Are you okay? You don't look so well."

Aramis welcomed the hug and laughed lightly at her reaction. "If you feel uncomfortable, in any way, let me know, all right?" He told her, concern laced in his voice as he thought about any side effects she may encounter. She pulled away from him, just inches, as she asked her questions. He smiled, grateful for her concern. "I'll be fine, just need to eat something." He told her as he kissed her forehead. "Now, come on, we best get you something to eat as well and then find you another place to live; I don't trust the Varden here, especially with all those 'cute' boys you seem to eye." He released his embrace and stood up from his crouched position. He silently wondered how he was going to get her to a safe town. She could stay here in Melian why he continued his mission...or perhaps send her to Surda since they were close to the border. He wondered idly where the Commander was hoping to go.
