Ellesmera is the heart of Du Weldenvarden, the capital of the Elve's land. None may enter without the permission of Gilderien the Wise, Prince of House Miolandra, wielder of the White Flame of Vandil, the guardian of Ellesmera since the days of Du Fyrn Skulbaka, the war with the dragons.

Equinox smiled as the bundle in his arms snapped at him. 'I can't believe it. My own dragon. I am a Rider!' He looked down as the dragon yawned streching its muzzle wide. Equinox stroked the dragon's golden scales softly with a single hand. 'Wait dragon! Before you retire to sleep, we must figure out a name for you.
'That is true, O Rider.'
'I've got the perfect name. How about Góùréd? It's Golden Savior.
'It's perfect Equinox. Now I will retire to sleep. Bring me food when I wake up youngling.'
Equinox smiled as he lay down in the confines of his new home. He had been moved to an house to accomadate a Rider and his Dragon right after Góùréd hatched for him. He breathed in the morning air as he settled Góùréd down onto his bed. He then sat crosslegged for his daily meditation.

Xangria slipped out of her room into the bright hallway. She had just arrived at the city the night before with her dragonet, when they showed her to her rooms, and she was practically positive she'd seen someone enter the room to her left.
Shutting her door gently to keep from waking Hjarta, she walked over to the door and knocked. "Hello?"

Equinox snapped out of his meditation as he heard a voice at the door. He glanced over at Góùréd, but he was still sleeping, so he grabbed his sword and strode over to the door. He reached out with his mind to find out who it was, but found the mind to be heavily barricaded behind strong barriers. He opened the door, to find a girl holding a dragonett.
"Hello, I'm Equinox. I can see that you're a fellow Rider. May I ask of your name?"

"I am Xangria," She replied, and added with a small grin, "and this is Hjarta." The purple dragonet sleeping in her arms twitched at her name, but continued sleeping.
She hesitated before continuing, tucking back a strand of silver hair, unsure of what else to say. She wasn't used to socializing. "I only arrived last night, so I'm still having trouble finding my way around . . . when did you arrive?"

"Well, I've just got this room today, but I've lived in Ellesmera my whole life. That's a nice colored dragon." He smiled gently as he looked down at it.
"Is that your room over there?" He pointed across the hall to a room not far from his own. He rested his sword against the wall next to his legs.

"Thanks," Xangria said showering another grin over Hjarta, "But MY! Has she got a temper . . . Oh, yes, I do live over there."
Then she realized he'd been holding his sword when he'd answered the door. "Did you think I was going to attack you?" She grinned trying to imagine how threatening she must have appeared in her sleep rumpled clothes and messy hair.

He smiled, his eyes resting on his sword. "You can never be too careful, especially during these times. When I couldn't sense your mind, I prepared for the worst." He turned around suddenly, as he felt a small bump in the back of his leg.
He looked down, but it was just his dragon, just waking up. "This is Góùréd." He reached down and scooped Góùréd into his arms and turned to face Xangria. "Góùréd this is Xangria."

"Greetings, Góùréd." She said, smiling at the small, golden dragonet. He was golden perfection!
'HEY! And what am I?' Hjarta's indignant reply was so loud, it made her wince. The dragonet in her arms blinked sleepily at Equinox and his dragon. 'Who are they, by the way?'

"I'm Equinox, a Rider, and this is my dragon, Góùréd." He smiled at the dragon. 'You hear that Equinox? Golden perfection! I like this girl. You never say things like that to me.'
'Only in fear of you getting an inflated head.'
"If my dragon is golden perfection, then yours is violet rain, bringing life to plants and animals alike." He spoke softly the words slipping out from his tongue.

Xangria smothered a grin as Hjarta blinked then gave a most regal bow of her head in Equinox's direction. I apologize for my rudeness, Rider, and thank you for the compliment. If Hjarta had had cheeks, Xangria was pretty sure they'd be fire-red by now.
"Thank you for the compliment, Equinox." Xangria said, then, trying to distract her dragon from her embarrasment, searched for another topic of conversation.
Hey, Hjarta, what do you think of us going to the training courts?
Sounds good for you two, but not so much for me, particularily as I need to eat. Very soon.
Xangria hesistated before beginning, wondering how he would answer. "I was planning on heading out to the training courts after feeding Hjarta, as I'm a little out of practice with a blade, would you care to join me?"

"Sure, I haven't practiced swordplay in a while either. It'll be good for me to get some practice. I have to feed Góùréd also, and after that I'll meet you at your room." He smiled at her, then went inside his own room to get some meat that the other elves placed inside for Góùréd. He tore some into small chunks with his fingers, and placed on the floor next to him, to watch him gobble them up with glee. He continued it for about five minutes, then scooped Góùréd in his arms, and placed his sword in his hilt, and walked outside to Xangria's room to wait for her.

"Great!" Xangria said with a grin, before turning towards her own room.
Opening the door with an elbow, as her hands were full with Hjarta, she strode towards the corner with the meat bucket, and placed Hjarta beside it.
'Mmmm.' Hjarta murmured sleepily as she finished off the last piece Xangria placed on the floor, and climbed into the elf's arms. Xangria shifted the drowsy dragonet in her arms and grabbed her sword, before heading outside to meet Equinox.

"Lets get going, shall we?" He smiled then proceeded to walk to the training field, holding Góùréd in his arms. "Does your sword have a name?" He glanced at it, noting the craftsmanship that the sword contained. He glanced ahead, absentmindedly stroking the small scales on Góùréd's back, as they left the home. His own sword swung loosely from his hip, in it's wire-wrapped hilt, as he walked by her side.

"Sure." Xangria said, as they began walking. Hjarta meanwhile, was beginning to wake up more after eating, and so began a surreptious examination of the golden dragonet in Equinox's arms, her curious nature at work.
Xangria grinned noting his examination of the sword. "It does have a name. I call it Orothrim, Fool's Wisdom, as violence seems only to get a person so far . . . ' She trailed off in remembrance before continuing. "Have you named your own yet?"
She was curious to know what he would answer. Orothrim had appealed to her in part because it was her nature to question when force was truly needed. It would be interesting to learn more about Equinox.

He laughed suddenly, his voice breaking through the silence of Ellesmera. "Nay, I did not name it. It came with a name. Du'turr, was the name inscribed in the hilt when I found it." He unsheathed his blade then, to show her.
Equinox, put me on the ground. I would like to walk for a bit, to stretch out the stiffness in my legs.' Góùréd said in their mental link. Equinox put him on the ground in front of him, and watched amused as he scampered off sniffing everything in sight. The young elf grinned as he watched him bump his nose into a tree, only to hiss and snap at it after.
