Taran looked startled. "Oh, its not that. I'm just a little shaken that's all."

"Hmm." was all nerasa could say. She set the table and put the hot vegie stew on along with fresh fruit and hot tea.
"Here we are lets eat." she said.

Nerasa looked around and she wondered if she would ingage in a conversation.
"Well I was wondering if you would want to spend another night taran. I have enough room if you are willing. Seana you may stay as well if you so choose." said Nerasa filling her bowl with stew and put some cut fruit on her plate.
"That would be great I would like that." said seana.

Taran took a few sips of his hot vegetable stew. "Yes, I would like that. Thank you."

"I know your room is big enough to fit your dragon in if you want him to come into your room. Maybe you will feel safer that way." said Nerasa.
"I will lead you to your room after this Seana. How is your brother Gabriel? I haven't seen him in as long as you." said nerasa.
"He...is doing good just doing some work and all and he is going to come back here as soon as he can." said Seana.

Taran excused himself from the table and walked quietly to the room from the night before. He was physically exhausted, and mentally strained. 'Much has happened today,' he thought as he lay in bed, fully clothed, looking at the ceiling.

"Here is your room I hope you like it Seana. Although its not a lot but its something." said Nerasa.
"Its great. I love it." said Seana as she entered it. The room held a desk a large bed a small bathroom and a deck like thing.

Taran rested uneasily, fighting with his thoughts. He could find no sleep, so he resigned himself to counting the beams overhead.

Nerasa went to her room and closed the door and sat behind her desk with her head resting in her hands. She had been thinking a lot and wondered if she would ever see her boyfriend again though she doubt it a lot. She couldn't sleep, not now, not ever till she could go and find what she was waiting for, or go do what she was meant to do. She was stressed and she didn't like the feeling.

"Twenty-one, twenty-two, twent-" A loud noise from the balcony caught Taran's attention. Rising from bed, he took his sword and walked over to the large opening. Adurthil lay on the platform, eating a freshly caught deer. 'Oh, it's just you. How are you tonight, Adurthil? I would like to know more about you. If you've been hatched for nearly seven months, why haven't I seen you? Nor heard from you?' Taran took a seat near his dragon. 'Well, Taran, I have been watching you, listening, learning. The reason why I haven't spoken to you is related to why you haven't seen me. I could not openly contact you before having given you the Gidway Insignia, it is just not done among dragons. I have not allowed us to meet for a very simple reason, if I had exposed myself to you, the kind or the varden would have known and saught you out. I stayed hidden, growing in strength and wisdom, giving us a better chance at survival.'

Nerasa was thinking of all the ways she could look for gabriel and what she would say to him and what she could do to help him. She just had to know where he was and what he was doing. She didn't like it that he hadn't looked for her for a hundred years and all. Nerasa got up and got a bag and started packing it with cloths and put her two twin daggers in the bag as well. As she finished she could hear Marflamel coming back from hunting himself and wondered if he would be up to the trip in finding Gabriel.
'Marflamel, I have soemthing to ask you. Would you want to take a journy to finding Gabriel and talk to him? I just want to know for I would like to leave tomorrow or the day after.' said nerasa.
'I would like that but then can we come back here for I love it here and it is peaceful for me along with you. I know how you made a choice to retire for a while from the varden unless they desperatly needed you. lets go the next day after tomorrow and give taran some time with his new dragon.' said marflamel.

Taran nodded, understanding the wisdom Adurthil spoke. 'You are quite right. I must confess, I have always been rather weary of riders. I...I never thought too highly of them. Don't know why, just never truly respected or trusted them." Taran looked up into the stars. 'They are beautiful, aren't they? So full of mystery and wonder.' Adurthil laughed a low rumble. 'They are not the only things full of mystery and wonder, young rider. Soon, many things will no longer be a mystery. Just give the time and have patience.'

'yeah people need time in order to adjust to things that are new. I remember when I first saw you and how I was so excited to actually finally have a dragon of my own. I agree.' said nerasa.
'you should rest for you have a busy day ahead of you.' said marflamel.

Taran returned to his bed, a little more at peace. He changed from his leather cuirass and breaches into simple cloth, leaving his shirt off welcoming the cold air on his skin. Taran suddenly sat up, looking at his palms. 'Adurthil, there are no marks on my hands. Where is the mark?' Adurthil quietly walked into the room, agile for a creature so large. 'I know, rider. It is not on your palm. Think. How have you had contact with me?' Taran thought, looking back on the day before. 'I don't know. When you saved me? But you didn't touch me until I rode you.' Adurthil laughed lightly. 'True, but there are no marks on your legs, nor your chest, arms, or head. Let me tell you this, your horse, Narth, has seen me before, so has Nerasa's dragon, Marflamel. Now, when could that have happened? Last night. Where can you not see?' Taran thought, looking over himself, but still not able to see anything. Then the thought hit him like a bucket of cold water. 'My back?' Adurthil simply nodded, then walked back outside. Taran reached behind him to feel raised skin covering his back.
