Jyar and Tor nodded at the clear logic but Jyar replied,"It still would be safer at Surda since you would have so many to defend you instead of out here where he is bound to look." Tor jumped in on the conversation with one of his sayings,"It is better to die fighting than to prolong life hiding 'cause death will still claim ya."Jyar laughed but knew his words to be true and fully agreed with them.

"I know," Diana said, nodding, "But...all my life I've been around people, never having a moment's privacy. It has been wonderful just living here with Serenity. I also couldn't bear it if it were my fault that I brought the Empire's Riders to Surda, simply because I was there instead of here."

Jyar nodded and smiled at this girls selflessness."I respect your decision but trust me almost every rider or any other powerful person has given the king to come after them but he hasn't and he probably wont for you."
Tor nodded and gave a hoot of happiness as Myra rolled over and his feet became free."You best heed his advice girl he knows what hes talkin' about. He might seem like battle loving elf but he knows what hes talkin' about."

Diana looked out a nearby window, a sad look coming over her face. "Even if the king doesn't send anyone after me himself, there is one Rider in his service who will come after me. And if she gets determined enough, no one can stop her. I...She feels like I betrayed her." Tears glimmered in her eyes as she though of Vana, wishing there was some way she could convince her that Galbatorix was wrong, and that she should not serve him.

Jyar was immediately up and laid a calming hand on her shoulder,"Its okay we all make mistakes I bet she will find out one way or another that you haven't betrayed her."Tor nodded his head and gave a few reassuring words to noticing how sad she was.Even Myra woke up and walked over to lick her face.

Diana smiled slightly, but she wasn't so sure. "Don't count on it," she said, sighing. "The only way I escaped Uru'baen was by lying to her. So I guess I did betray her in a way. But I just couldn't serve the king, not as a Rider. If I did, I would never be free after that." Serenity felt Diana's agitation and stuck her head inside the door, sending her comforting emotions. You'll be fine, little one, she told her, Vana won't find us...even if she does, we'll be able to get help quickly.

Jyar patted her shoulder one more time and took Myra back over to the chair as he knew he couldn't do much else she needed to come to terms with this herself. He sniffed the air and noticed a change in its smell,"I think the tea is done."

Diana took a quick, steadying breath, then turned to the kettle. Pulling it out of the fire, she poured the boiling water into the cups with the crushed tea leaves. She passed one of them to Jyar and offered another to Tor. Then she settled back in a chair and let the leaves steep for a while.

Jyar nodded in thanks and softly sipped his tea and looked at Diana for awhile to make sure she didn't have another emotional outbreak.
Tor took his tea and finished it in one swig and broke the cup in the aftermath. It burned his mouth and he dropped it on the floor and cursed as he fumbled for his mead.He took a long swig of his drink and sighed. He gave Jyar a glare when he started to laugh.

Diana watched in amusment as the dwarf tried to drink his tea too hot. "I would have thought you knew enough not to drink water that is almost boiling," she said, a twinkle showing in her hazel eyes. She picked up the broken pieces of the cup and put them aside. "Well, is there anything else I can do for you while you three are my guests?"

Tor grumbled and crossed his arms thoroughly mad.He took another swig of his mead and then shook it noticing it would soon be empty.Jyar finished laughing and thought over her question."Well since it is getting close to dark I was wondering if we could stay here."

"Of course," Diana said, nodding to Jyar. "There is only one bedroom, but I don't mind. I can sleep out with Serenity tonight." She drank some of her tea, her mind drifting to and fro. "Just let me know if you need anything."

Jyar laughed,"We would be horrible gentlemen if we took the bed and the lady slept outside.I will not take no for an anwer so don't think of arguing," Jyar added.
Tor nooded his agreement,"Yeah missie we'll take the livin room.

Diana laughed and shook her head. "Believe it or not, I hardly ever really sleep in that bed anyway. I do prefer to sleep outside with Serenity. So if neither of you sleep in it, it is highly unlikely anyone will." Serenity twisted her head to look at the elf again. It is true, she told him, We do both feel safer when we are together.

Tor stood up trying to look the part of a gentlemen which is not as impreesive when you less then five feet."Ya are safe enough with us and since ya asked if ya could do anything else for us we would like ya ta sleep in your bed."Jyar nodded and stood right next to him completely towering over the dwarf and with his red hair and fake fierce expression they looked rather impressive.Myra walked over and reared its head up made the group look even better.
