OOC: Well...Dastan deserves to be given a chance for happiness...with someone who actually loves him. lol
Ealvale sat listening to some elders reciting old Ismalian tales to her. She hung onto every word, enraptured to hear new stories. She knew every one of Alagaesia by heart, from every race, and could recite them back perfectly. It was refreshing and exciting to hear new ones, and her imagination captured each moment. Thus far her favorite was the one about how the crystal city had been formed, becoming the glorious capital known as Freia. Whenever she looked around, she was left in awestruck wonder of the place. She thanked the elders for their time; the seemed pleased to have such an eager listener and always seemed more than happy to make time for her. She picked up her lute, ideas for songs already coming to her mind. She strummed the instrunment softly, looking down at it rather than where she was going as she made her way toward the palace courtyard in order to make her way to her uncle's new home.

OOC: Interesting, but will dear Dastan return her affections? Only time will tell....lol Now how to get him there, seeing that he is Tenel Ka's bodyguard...oh I know!
"Are you sure about this?" Dastan asked, feeling a bit uncomfortable with this idea. "It'll be fine, Dastan. Tenel Ka can manage and I will be there." Romulus was practically shoving Dastan out of Tenel Ka's room. "But..." "Don't worrry, Dastan." "But..." "She's my responsibility to protect now." "Not until you are wed, Romulus! Until then, I am her-" "Just get out!" Rom practically shoved Dastan out of the room. He had grown tired of Dastan hovering around and especially his final comment. "She's my betrothed! I don't need any other reason to protect her and she deserves a day off!" "Liar! You just want to keep her in that bed for yourself! She has duties----OW!" Dastan grunted out as he was finally kicked out, the door shutting quickly behind him. "Hush! You'll wake her!" Romulus had hissed out right before shutting the door.
Romulus grinned, now that he was finally alone with Tenel Ka. He had snuck in the room this morning to see her, and "kidnap" her for the day, but was momentarily halted by the stalwart guard. Apparently, Dastan's hearing was sharp, having heard him sneak in through the window to Tenel Ka's lounge. The annoying guard had bounded in, swords at the ready, only to be slightly amused and annoyed at Romulus' antics of slipping in to see the Queen Mother. Well, now, nothing was going to stop Rom from letting Tenel Ka have a little fun today. The young Ranger directed himself toward the bedroom, hoping that Tenel Ka wasn't woken from Dastan's outburst; he really wanted to give her a pleasant surprise. Smirking, Rom removed his tunic and boots rather quickly, leaving them by the bedroom door, and snuck inside the bedroom...
*** Dastan grumbled, annoyed with Romulus' behaviour. The Duke was certaintly anxious to use any means to sneak in to see Tenel Ka. Dastan sheathed his swords as he walked through the palace. Honestly, endangering the Queen Mother that way...just because someone let it slip that Romulus had spent the night in the Queen's room to her father....banning him from being alone with the Queen until the wedding day....sheesh...he'll use any means to see her...ugh, I don't like his idea...just because he wants to spend the day with her....oi, I'm going to get an earful later....Rom better not waste this day... Dastan was mumbling to himself as he walked through the courtyard. He was so caught up in his own ramblings that he didn't hear a soft melody, or see the young woman that he was about to bump into. He soon collided with Ealvale. "Oh! I'm so sorry!" Dastan apologized quickly after his embarrassing collision.

Tenel Ka stirred slightly as she heard voices in the next room. It was way too noisy to be an assassin, unless Dastan had already caught him in the act. Either way, it seemed nothing to worry about, and it was too early to be getting up. She ignored the noise and let her mind drift off again. She became aware, however, that there was someone else in the room with her, and opened her eyes. She stared for half a moment at the man before her. She knew she recognized him, and that he was very dear to her. But she grew concerned when, for a moment, she was unable to recall his name. Romulus. This is Romulus. The man you love and to whom you are betrothed, she told herself firmly. A broad grin crossed her face, especially as she noticed his bare torso and feet. "Now that is quite the sight to which to wake up," she said, sitting up and putting her arm around her knees. "Now, are you going to feed me breakfast?" she asked. Her eyes drifted half-shut in an alluring gaze. "Or did you have something else in mind?" She tried not to let on the anxiety she felt over her momentary loss of memory, which had in fact continued to plague her from time to time even after her mind was restored. ~~~~~ Ealvale was composing a rather difficult chord and all her concentration was on her lute when she suddenly ran into someone...rather hard, too. "Oh, I'm sorry!" she exclaimed at the same time he did. She looked up to see who it was, hoping it wasn't someone overly important to the kingdom. It wasn't...it was worse. She felt her face grow bright red as she recognized Dastan. She hadn't seen him up this close for years; not since the first time she'd met him after fleeing with her uncle to the Varden. She was struck by how breath-takingly handsome he looked. "I-I-I wasn't looking where I was going."

OOC: OH! No! She still has some of her memory loss!? Oooo this should be interesting!
Romulus quietly shut the door behind him as he stealthly manuevered his way to the bed. A broad grin appeared on his face as Tenel Ka lifted herself up. He watched her closely as she watched him. He smirked as she questioned him. He walked over and placed himself on the empty side of the bed. "Well, I was thinking of breakfast and...something else, but, I was wondering, which do you prefer first?" He asked with a sly grin as he manueverd over to her, not having missed her earlier confusion. He leaned in to kiss her. "Is everything all right?" He asked her before kissing her.
*** Dastan glanced down at the woman before him. He gave her a sheepish smile. He vaguely recalled meeting her before, but it was so long ago that her name escaped him. "Its okay. It was my fault - I wasn't watching where I was going either." He scratched his head. "Um, how...how are you liking Ismalia?" He asked her, knowing that she had arrived with her Uncle, one of the privleges of being the Royal Bodyguard - you get to know everything...well, except her name.

OOC: Yep. It's going to happen rather randomly from time to time from now on. lol
Tenel Ka smiled as Rom got on the bed next to her, feeling her heart quickening in anticipation. She knew from his question that he had read her earlier confused expression, but as she settled her lips against his, she tried to put both him and herself at ease. "Everything is perfect," she told him, putting her hand on his chest and she kissed him again. She pulled herself closer to him, putting one leg--which her short silken nightgown did not entirely cover--on his. "Hmm...I think breakfast can wait," she half-mumbled as she laid back down on her pillows. She glanced at him curiously. "So, to what do I owe this visit?" ~~~~~ Ealvale felt suddenly shy as Dastan started up a conversation with her. Did he even know who she was? She doubted it; they met so long ago, and she really wasn't anyone important or special. "I love it," she said, a little quietly, her eyes drifting shyly toward the ground. "It's so different from Alagaesia. And their stories are all completely new. I could listen to them all for weeks and never get tired of them." Though she kept her head down, her eyes went up to him curiously. "Um...how do you like it, Dastan?" she asked.

Tenel Ka's kiss put some ease into Romulus, but he still held some concern. He smiled as she tried to reassure him. The action with her leg tightening around his helped. "Mmm, I thought that would be your answer." He leaned over her, adjusting himself into a better postion. "Well, I wanted to see you." He gave a half pout. "Ever since your father banned us from being alone together, well...I missed your company...even if we're around other people...well, I don't feel like myself unless its just you and me." He confessed to her as he brushed a strand of her hair off her face. "And," He leaned down to kiss her again, "I felt like kidnapping you for the day." He gave her a sly smile, his lips hovering over her's. "Now the question is, are you going to be a willing captive?"
*** Dastan shrugged. He absently wondered why the girl seemed so shy around him all the time. "It's fine. The people are really nice here." He didn't feel like sharing with her the real reason why he preferred Ismalia over Algaesia. "Its a bit colder here though." He cracked a smile. "Are you going to your Uncle's? Would you mind if I escort you? Apparently, I've been given a day off." He tried not to give a sarcastic expression. "I was thinking of exploring the city too...I haven't had a chance since I've been here...have you visited the city?" He asked her, wondering if she wouldn't mind coming with him. He suddenly realized that he really had no friends here besides the Queen, Tristan, Teodora, and Romulus, and they were all busy doing their duties.

Tenel Ka sighed when Rom brought up their forced seperation. Her father's demands were enough to make her long for a quick wedding, rather than the huge, organized fanfare spectical her grandmother was making it. With all the planning--plus enough time to allow everyone in the kingdom time to attend--it was still months away. She knew there was no way she was going to be able to wait that long to be with him again. "I have missed you as well, Romulus," she told him, wrapping her arm around his waist. "I just cannot relax with all those people around. I only ever feel comfortable if it is just you and I." An eyebrow arched as he mentioned kidnapping her for the day. Well, she certainly wouldn't protest. Though she accepted, and even to some degree enjoyed her duties, she had been desiring some time away from all of this. "Hmm," she said, burying her face in his neck and breathing in his scent. "I may take some...persuading." ~~~~~ Ealvale nodded slightly in agreement as Dastan told her his opinion of Ismalia. Though at the moment the weather was pleasant--the sun was warm, but the air was still rather cool--she was not looking forward to her first winter there. She felt her face go redder as he offered to escort her home, or even explore the town with her. "Oh...um...well...that's really kind of you..." she said, gripping her lute a bit tightly. "I haven't really seen much of the city. It would be nice to look at it. I mean, if you're sure you don't mind. I know you have duties and all, and I wouldn't want to be a burden or anything."

Romulus shuddered as he felt Tenel Ka's breath against his skin. He missed her dearly these past few weeks. "Persuasion, hmm?" His hand soon found itself on the leg that was hooked across his, and began to slide upward. "I think I can help persuade you to see my way." His voice grew husky as his other arm slipped behind her neck, bringing them closer together. He began to kiss her neck, but momentarily stopped. "You don't think your Father will live up to his word of maiming me if he finds out about us disobeying him, do you?" He asked, a bit hesitant in disobeying Isolder. "I mean, I wouldn't be making a good impression on your Father if I went against his wishes..." Rom rambled as his mouth grazed over her skin. "Mmm, but you are tempting me right now..." His voice displaying uncertainty.
*** "No, I don't mind at all; I have the day off, remember? I would rather spend it exploring the city rather than twindling my thumbs in my room. Besides, I could use the company. Its been awhile since I've been around a fellow Algaesian." He smiled at her as he gestured for them to continue their walk toward her Uncle's. "If you don't mind, that is, to explore the city with me. I would ask Tristan or Romulus, but they are rather preoccupied at the moment. But, as you have said, you haven't seen the city yet either, perhaps we can explore together." He stated to her, "if you wish to, of course, I don't wont to impose on any plans you have for the day."

Tenel Ka's breath started to accelerate as Rom pulled her closer to him, his hand on her leg sending pleasant shivers through her body. She made an audible groan as he brought up her father. "I am the Queen Mother," she reminded him. "If need be, I can order Dastan and the other royal guards to protect you, even from my father's wrath. Besides, he know how unhappy that would make me." She began to carress Rom's back gently. Her eyes drifted half shut again. "Besides, so long as you do not destroy anything like my clothing this time, he need never know you were in here." She giggled lightly--something she only ever did when she was alone with him. ~~~~~ Ealvale was at a loss for words as Dastan indicated that he wanted to spend some time with her, even if it was just to be with a fellow Alagaesian. "Oh, well, um, yes...I mean, no, I don't have anything else going on today. Yes, I would love to look around the city. My uncle was planning to show me around, but his ambassadorial duties keep him very busy." She glanced sideways at Dastan as they walked along. She wondered how he managed to get a day off. Guarding the queen sounded like it would be a full-time job. "There is a nice old couple I wouldn't mind visiting," she said. "I mean, if we were going to explore the city anyway. If it wouldn't be out of our way. Because I met them when they came to the Varden to offer their services as healers. They seemed like such nice people, and always complimented my singing. I mean, if you wouldn't mind, that is." She felt like she was rambling, but she couldn't stop herself. She was just so nervous.

Romulus chuckled. "I'm not afraid of your Father, Tenel Ka, but I don't want to cause a rift between us eith---" Romulus had replied to her statement of having personal guards when he felt her hand caress his bare back, sending a pleasant sensation throughout his body. He groaned. "I love it when you do that." He whispered to her as he listened to her speak again. He gazed down at her as she spoke of him not ripping her clothing anymore. He couldn't help the sheepish pout that formed. He rather enjoyed doing that. A grin replaced his pout as he heard her giggle, loving it everytime it came from her lips. "I can't help what I do; you drive me crazy." He kissed her cheek, just close enough to her lips, teasing her. "And at the moment, I rather concentrate on you now, than your father." He manuevered himself more inside the covers of the bed. "I love you, Tenel Ka." He whispered to her fondly before kissing her lustfully.
*** Dastan couldn't help the grin that was on his face as he watched Ealvale stammer over her words. "No, I do not mind if we visit your friends. I think it gives us a nice place to head to as we visit the sights here." He replied to her, wondering why she seemed so nervous around him. Was it because he carried weapons? She was a musician. Perhaps she didn't like weapons. Did she find him intimindating or scary? That was the only excuse he could think of at the moment as they reached her designated homes. "We should inform your Uncle that you are with me today. I do not want him to worry about you." He advised her as he continued to wonder about her shy and nervous behavior.

OOC: GET A ROOM!!! Oh, wait...lol. Hmm...let's just leave the snuggly couple to do their stuff in private.
Ealvale noticed Dastan's grin as she spoke, and for some reason, it set her heart pacing faster. She glanced away from him, hoping he wouldn't notice that her face had suddenly acquired a rosy tint. "I'm sure you'll like them," she continued rambling on about her friends. "I mean, they can act a bit strange sometimes, but maybe it's not so unusual for Ismalians. Seth and Lucia are such sweethearts." She paused as they approached her uncle's home, and she stepped inside for a moment. "Dukhat," she called out to the butler. "I'm going to be gone most of the day, looking at the city. Would you please let my uncle know?" The butler gave a somewhat concerned look for a moment, but nodded. "Of course, Miss Ealvale," he said. "Don't worry about me. I'll be perfectly fine," she told him sincerely. Honestly, there were few she trusted more than Dastan--even if that trust might be deemed foolish by others. She returned outside to where she had left Dastan. Her excitment for seeing the city warred with her shyness. "So...where do you want to go first?" she asked, looking at the street, the buildings, the sky...anywhere but straight at him.

OOC: LOL! Yes, we shall leave them be.
"Oh, I don't know. Which way do your friends live? We can just head in that general direction and see what we like to explore a bit more?" He suggested, not really knowing anything besides the Palace and some few places that Tenel Ka had ventured to. He started to walk toward the gates that led to the city around them. He thought a bit about her Uncle and his station here, and about the light blush that he had noticed on Ealvale's face earlier. He had pondered on that for a moment before she had returned from her house. He walked beside her quietly and felt a bit awkward. He noticed her instrument and decided to inquire about it; about her, if anything to know who he was befriending. "You are a muscian?" He asked her, pointing to the lute.

Ealvale walked beside Dastan as they explored the city. She took the lead in directing where they were headed as she went toward Seth and Lucia's house, all the while staring in amazement at the city. The carved crystal was an accomplishment that she felt even the dwarves would envy. It reflected the sunlight in ways that left few real shadows, even in tight alleys that in most cities would be dark and dangerous. She glanced down at the lute in her hands, realizing then that she was still holding on to it. She rested it snugly around her back as she answered Dastan's question. "Yes," she told him. "Though I'm not great at it, really. I write some songs, but mostly I just recite old tales. They facinate me; I know every one of the stories from Alagaesia, even from back before the formation ofthe Riders. I'm trying to learn the ones here from Ismalia, too." Now that he got her started on the topic, she couldn't stop. She told him a few stories she had just heard this morning, and one obscure on from old Alagaesian times that few remembered, and before she knew it, they'd arrived at Seth and Lucia's place. She stepped up to the door and knocked, suddenly reverting to her old shyness. The light tapping on the door was unlikely to be heard by anyone.

As Dastan explored the city with Ealvale, he listened carefully to her recitals of folklore. Personally, Dastan cared little for stories, but the way Ealvale spoke and recited them held his interest. He noted the way she seemed to be more confident when she told her tales; she actually looked him in the eye, it seemed. Dastan listened with intent; he never heard much folklore before. His eyes wandered about, awed by the beauty of the city. It wasn't long until they reached their destination. "Thank you for sharing those stories, Ealvale. Maybe you can share your songs sometime. I would be interested in hearing them." Dastan commented once she finished.
Dastan's brow raised with curiousity when the door opened. Lucia's eyes blinked as she opened the door. "Ealvale?" The old woman grinned. "Oooo and who's this hunky boy you brought, hmm?" Lucia's eyes flickered over to Dastan, who squirmed under her gaze. "I hope you're referring to me, lovely!" Seth's voice boomed from inside. "You?! Who would call you hunky, skinny man!" Lucia shot back. Dastan's eyes were wide and unsure. Who were these people? He glanced at Ealvale, hoping she got the right place, and hoping that this couple wasn't insane. The two continued to banter back and forth, seemingly unaware of the two at their door for a moment.

Ealvale smiled at Lucia as the old woman opened the door. Despite their erratic bantering, she always felt rather comfortable around the old pair. In them, she could see something she hoped for; she longed for a sweet, playful relationship like that even when her hair was gray and wrinkles replaced freckles. "Hi, Lucia," she said with a smile, although she blushed when the old woman set her sights on Dastan. She waited for her and Seth to stop bantering back and forth for a moment, but finally decided to interupt them. "Um...mind if we come in?" she asked. "I have been meaning to visit you sooner, but my uncle's been very busy and he doesn't want me exploring the city on my own. Dastan here wanted to look around, too, so he offered to come with me."
