Sachiko watched with minor caution as Daeron's anger seemed to increase. He didn't seem particularly dangerous until he unleashed his fireballs, which blazed past her with such intensity that she felt a few hairs singe. She took a step toward him as he collapsed on the ground in tears. She didn't really understand his emotional outburst, though she knew men in general all seemed to be prone toward violence. She'd felt that firsthand years ago. Gently, she patted him on the shoulder. "There, there," she told him. "I know it's hard when it feels like no one appreciates you. No one understands you. I know what it's like to be alone in the world." For once, the words she said were not an act. They were the absolute truth. "I've been an outcast before, too. I practically had to raise myself, all because some monster of a man killed my mother, and I defended myself from him. But then...Katriana found me. She saw the potential in me and thought I was worth something. She acknowledged me as more than a crazed terror." It felt so odd to Sachi to be so honest with someone, but she somehow sensed that her words would be helpful in convincing this boy to join her. "If you would like, you can come with me. Kat needs more people, and I know you're just the sort of person she is looking for. She will see that you're worthwhile when nobody else will. And she will bring peace. Or at least as close to it as we can get. I believe she can do it, because she believes in me."

Daeron silently sobbed as he felt Sachi touch him. He tensed at first, recalling what she had did, but his sadness was overwhelming that he didn't care if she killed him. No one would care. Her words, however, shocked him. He tentatively looked up at her, his eyes sneaking through the red bangs of his hair. There was someone who would acknowledge him? There was someone who could see who he really was? Was that possible? His silent sobs stopped as he rubbed the tears out of his eyes with his sleeve. He thought briefly about Sachiko's offer. "She'll see me as something more? You promise?" He asked, his eyes hopeful, but a bit guarded - he didn't want to get his hopes up and meet loneliness again. "If you promise, then I'll go with you." He told her as he stared up at her.

Sachi smiled down at Daeron's hopeful expression. He looked so innocent, but...she knew even from his small display that he was powerful and his anger was strong. "I promise. And even if she doesn't see it at first, I'll vouch for you. She usually listens to me. She likes me for some reason." She shrugged an giggled a little. She took his hand and tugged gently. "C'mon. Let's get out of this town. I don't like being around these people. They're all so...judgemental. It kind of makes me want to just kill them all. I would if Kat told me to, but she specifically told me not to." She sighed in annoyance as Pluto padded up beside them, swishing his tail in the air and winking at them.

Daeron nodded and carefully took Sachiko's hand. They were surprisely soft for someone that relished in blood. He lifted himself up and walked with her. He was silent as she mentioned about people being judgemental. He knew that feeling quite well. He then noticed a rather large cat come up to them. He blinked at it, but said nothing, not wanting to cause anger from the person that was seemingly rescuing him of his loneliness. "I don't care, let's just go." He finally spoke as they walked off. "By the way, my name is Daeron." He would have added Celesti at the end, but his anger welled up at the thought. They didn't care for him, so why bear their name?

Sachi glanced back at Daeron as he mentioned his name, giving him a friendly smile. "Nice to meet you, Daeron," she told him. "I'm Sachiko. You can just call me Sachi if you like. And that's Pluto." She pointed to the werecat. He was still the smartest creature she'd ever met, although she didn't understand why he insisted on following her everywhere. From the occasional conversation she had with him, she gathered that it was out of respect for her, the two of them having been equal in strength. Perhaps that was the same reason why she didn't try anymore to hurt him. She really didn't understand it. *** A few days later, Sachi led Daeron through the crowd of people that was the Shade's Army. They all seemed to make way for her, avoiding her like the plauge. She had been known to intentionally hurt them when she got bored, although not enough to get Katriana angry. She made her way straight through to where Kat stood pacing near Vanilor, seeming to be deep in thought. "Kaaaaaaat!!!!!" Sachi called out in a singsong voice. The Shade looked up, a devious smile crossing her face. Sachiko had returned. It was about time. She'd been gone quite a while on her mission, but Katriana knew that when she returned, she would bring only the best with her. The girl seemed to have a knack for judging good potential candidates. "Ah, Sachi. Welcome home," she called out. Her fiery eyes drilled into the boy she was bringing along. Something about his features looked familiar. "I found somebody. His name is Daeron, and he is a remarkable candidate." Remarkable? That was a word Sachi rarely used. Either she was truly impressed by him, or she was trying to be manipulative somehow. Perhaps both... "Daeron..." Kat said. She approached the boy with a scrutinizing gaze, though she gave a warm smile. "Why have you decided to come here?"

Daeron gave Sachi a tentative smile. "Sachi..." He tested the name on his lips as he walked with her, glancing at Pluto with curiousity. He followed them, hoping that Sachi was right, that he would be acknowledged.
*** Days later:
Daeron entered the camp of Sachi's leader, Katriana. He gazed around him, seeing different creatures and beings that left him in wonderment and a bit nervous. He had never really known anyone or anything besides his village and where his mother would bring him. They continued to walk until Sachi brought him before Katriana. The woman gave out a dangerous aura and Daeron was half wondering if Sachi spoke true. His eyes followed the Shade, his eyes flicking briefly to the really large yellow dragon behind her, before settling upon Katriana's smile - it looked warm, but Daeron still felt very cold gazing into it. "I wish to be acknowledged...and to be something more...to be someone." Daeron answered truthfully.

Kat smiled and placed a hand on the boy's shoulder. She could hear the echo of bitterness in his voice, the bitterness that had driven him to her. It must have been that anger that had first caught Sachi's eye. "Daeron," she told him, looking into his eyes. "You are who you make yourself. No other person can make you; no one else can break you. I can help guide you to realize your full potential, but it is up to you to sieze your destiny. I am certain you hold within you a greatness that all others will envy." Though Kat's smile was warm, inside it was a smirk. This boy was just going to be another pawn for her. But he had to be a willing pawn to begin with, and to do that, she needed to manipulate him into believing she cared in the slightest what happened to him. She was a bit curious, however. Looking at him, she had a feeling that he did in fact hold hidden potential. He seemed familiar somehow.
