Zee smiled as the adults agreed on what to do with the eggs. He was glad they were going to Bromsland; he knew they would be safer and happier there than anywhere else. "Thanks, Mom, Gianna," he told them. He set the eggs down on the table gently; although he knew they couldn't be harmed by simply being dropped, he still felt the need to take care with them. His eyes were caught again by the grey one. In the flickering firelight, the color seemed lighter than he had originally thought. Such a unique color. Inwardly, he sighed to himself. He never seriously considered being a Rider, knowing his responsibility first belonged to the Ayati. He couldn't just go off to Bromsland to wait around for an egg to hatch like Ian had. He was needed here. Still, his dreams and aspirations always brought him soaring through the skies. He knew his father wished that for him as well. "Mom, where's Dad?" he asked, realizing the absence of his father.

Cirilai watched the way her son admired the grey egg. She knew that look well. It was similar to the way she had looked at Chatura's egg. Looking across the room, she exchanged a look with Gianna. It seemed Celesti knew the look as well. "Your father stayed back with the tribe." She said, looking back to Zee. "They should be here within the hour, I think. Why don't you two go take the eggs upstairs and put them someplace safe." She said to both Tally and Zee. "And Zee, perhaps you should hang onto that grey egg...." and Cirilai smiled, hoping, almost knowing, that fate was about to change for her son.

Zee nodded to his mother when she explained where his father was. It didn't surprised him that he'd stayed behind with the tribe, wanting to make certain they arrived safely. He glanced at her curiously at her next instructions. "Yes, ma'am," he told her respectfully, gathering up the eggs again. He wondered why she'd told him to hold on to the egg. And the look in her eye...it was almost as if she was expecting something. He couldn't help but wonder if that meant she knew. Could the egg possibly hatch for him? He hoped, but he wasn't certain. He turned to go upstairs, but waited for Tally to come up with him. Despite having visited this house many times, any building tended to disorient him and he could very well get lost. He much prefered wide-open spaces, or the small one-room tents.

Tally watched the exchange between Zee and his mother, wondering why Cirilai wanted him to keep the egg. Besides the obvious, of course. Curtsying to the elders, Tally gathered her eggs, and moved out of the room. When she felt she was out of earshot, she turned to Zee excitedly. "I think that egg is going to hatch for you!" she said, gesturing towards the misty gray egg. "Your mother... I think that's why she wanted you to keep it!" Turning a corner, she led the way upstairs. "Here, since you and you're family are our guests of honor, I'm sure Gianna and Einar will let you stay in the house. You can sleep in Ian's room. I think Eva's room will go to your sister." Tally continued down the hallway, until they reached storage closet of sorts. At the bottom there was a chest which held miscellaneous things. "I think the eggs should be safe here." Opening the chest, she began to deposit the eggs one by one inside. On the last egg, she hesitated. The brown and amber shades of the shell captivated her, and she felt a great, tugging regret in the thought of placing it amongst its brethren in the chest.

Zee glanced at the egg as Tally lead him upstairs. He looked back up at her when she spoke excitedly. "You really think so?" he asked. "I mean, I hope so, but how can we know for sure?" He knelt down to place the eggs in the storage closet, putting them in place one by one. He held the gray egg in his hands while he waited to her to finish; then he noticed how she hesitated with the last one, a brownish amber one. He thought he recognized her expression. "Tally...if I get to hold on to one, I think it's only fair that you can keep one as well. I mean, you found them with me, right?" He gave her a smile, hoping her father and aunt wouldn't disagree. He stood and closed the cabinent door, peeking in one last time to make sure the remaining eggs were tucked away safely. "Wouldn't it be neat if I were the first Ayati to get to wear the tattoo I designed for Riders?" he asked her, grinning at the thought.

Tally debated a moment about taking the egg. She certainly felt something odd when she held it in her hands. And that werecat had said something about her destiny. "You're right. It wouldn't hurt to keep it for a night, at least until the eggs are taken to Bromsland." She glanced around her, half-expecting to see the werecat lingering in the shadows, but he wasn't. Oddly, she felt disappointed. It would be nice to know what else her future might hold for her.
"That would be great!" she said to Zee, leading the way back downstairs. Glancing into the living room, she found the elders still deep in discussion. Their voices were mere murmurs, and the firelight from the hearth cast deep shadows on their faces. Tally let her gaze linger just a moment longer. This was less a meeting of friends and more a war council. Frowning at the thought, she continued on and out the door, into the chill evening air. "What now?" She asked Zee, looking over to him. She was rather sorry the night was already nearly upon them. She had wanted to spend more time with Zee. And, even, with Tylon. Her gaze wandered to the edge of town, where the Ismalians had made their camp.
