Jason allowed his father and mother to hug him. He was till feeling angry, though he knew it was wrong to act it out towards his parents. "I love you both, too." he said, his voice rather gruff. He returned their hug, but only half-heartily. After a moment, he pulled away from them. "You said that Tezza was sleeping? Where? I want to see her." He felt his eyes grow watery, and a sense of shame filled him because of it. "I have to see that she is truly alright." The very thought of Tezza dead filled Jason with fright and sorrow. It was a nightmare he didn't think he could bear to live through.

Romulus released his son. "She is in there, I believe." He nodded toward Sidhion's bedroom. Noticing his son's shift in mood, Rom placed a comforting hand on the young man's shoulder. "She is all right, Jason. Don't blame yourself for what you could not control; it is not your fault. Go, go see her. She'll love to see you." He then smirked. "I believe Aradan is in there too; keep an eye on him for me, won't you?"
*** Seth listened to the sad voice of Garrus. He knew that sentiment very well. He too had felt worthless when he could not have rescued Glory and Sundavar. "Garrus, it is not your fault. You're not worthless. The enemy was just more powerful. I...I too felt as you are feeling now. Helpless and unworthy to even exist because we could not protect and save the ones we love." Seth sighed and folded his arms across his chest. "We cannot feel sorry for ourselves; it won't change anything. However, we can change what we will do in the future. Train, Garrus. Train yourself so that you can become stronger than you are now, so that the next time you meet those that harmed Teza Mae, you can show them who truly is the worthless one." Seth told the dragon, putting his own emotion in his words. "Train, Garrus. Train and grow stronger for Teza Mae. And with all do respect, self-pity is beneath an honorable and worthy dragon." Seth added to the dragon before wandering over to his own.

Teza Mae was sleeping only lightly, still partially conscious. She heard voices nearby, muffled and unclear; she thought she heard Jason, but wondered if she was just imagining it. As Aradan set her down on the bed and moved to leave, she instinctively reached out for him. She didn't want to be left alone. The thought was too frightening, as if the nightmare she had just lived through would return the second she was by herself. "Don't...go..." she mumbled in her semi-conscious state. ~~~~~ Garrus listened to what Seth had to say. He seemed rather knowledgable of the topic, as if he'd had some experience. He raised his head to stare at the two-legged for a moment, thinking on his words. I will train, he vowed. I will do everything I can to make sure my Princess will never be harmed again.

Jason merely nodded to his father before parting and going to the room where Tezza currently resided. He entered the room, and upon seeing his sister's sleeping form, felt the tight, anxious pain in his heart ease, if only slightly. For there was Aradan too, sitting right next to her. The sight of the young elf stirred Jason's blood. He was more angry at Aradan for leaving him in New Doru Arabea. They were fellow students, after all. Aradan should have made a point to pick him up on the way here! But no, Aradan had left him, without a word. "Leave us!" He commanded, sounding more imperial than he ever had before. Or ever wanted to, for that matter. "I will take care of Tezza Mae now, as is my duty. You've done enough."

Aradan stopped moving, having heard Teza Mae's plea. "Okay, I won't go." He quietly said and adjusted himself in his chair so that he was watching over Teza Mae. He held her hand gently, not wanting to disturb her sleep. How could this have happened? Why didn't he follow his instincts and just stay with Teza Mae? Why did he just let her go, knowing that she would try something like she did. It was his fault. A commanding voice struck him out of his self-pity. He narrowed his eyes at Jason. "No." Aradan spoke firmly and didn't budge from his spot. "She asked me to stay and I have as much duty to her as you!" He growled out, feeling protective over Teza Mae. "I'm not going anywhere."
OOC: FIGHT FIGHT FIGHT!!!
*** Romulus watched his son depart and after a moment he returned his attention to his wife. "You look tired; get some rest, my heart." He gently placed a hand on her cheek.
Just as Romulus said that, Sidhion appeared. "I've made extra rooms for you all. Queen Mother and Romulus, your room is down the hall to the right. Aradan will stay with Seth, and it appears Jason will too," He had sensed a new presence and soon spotted Jason marching into Teza Mae's room. "However, I think a fight is about to begin between the two boys." Sidhion informed the parents before he left to make sure Tismri knew where she was staying in the room to the left.
*** Seth turned his head to Garrus and a smile formed on his lips. "I am glad, Garrus. You are not worthless, never forget that." Seth bowed to the dragon, before bidding night to Hyperion and the other dragons and headed back up the stairs.

Tenel Ka sighed and watched as her son marched away toward Teza Mae's room. She'd never seen Jason so upset before, but she understood why. He saw his primary duty as protector of his sister, the princess and heir to the throne. She could only imagine the sense of failure he was feeling right now. In her mind, she saw Tristan's appalled expression upon realizing their accident. Jason must be feeling something similar to that, although he had nothing to do with harming Teza Mae himself. The queen's expression tightened a bit as Sidhion informed her and Rom that Jason and Aradan seemed to be on the verge of fighting. Perhaps the boy just needed to get the resentment out of his system, and he would feel better after he fought with someone. "I hope at least they do not argue in front of Teza Mae," she told Rom. "She needs her rest; a fight would likely disturb her." She held her husband close for a moment. "I think I shall lie down for a while," she agreed with him. "It has been a long day...several long days, truth be told." ~~~~~ Tismri continued writing for a while, putting her focus on expressing her thoughts on page. Now that Teza Mae was out of danger, she felt the slightest measure of relief. Still, concern for her other students continued to press on her mind. Upon finishing a sentence, she glanced up at Sidhion, giving him a slight smile. "Poor judgement on my part," she said, thinking of Jason. "I thought it best to leave Jason in Bromsland, to make sure he remained safe. I don't like having so many students unnecessarily abroad. It seems he caught wind of his sister after all. I shall have to apologize to him once he has had time to calm down." The stress and exhaustion became more evident in her expression, hiding nothing from her mate. She placed the papers aside, her expression inwardly thoughtful. She wondered if there was anything she could have done to prevent the tragedies that seemed to keep befalling the children placed under her care. She thought of the parents that trusted the well-being of their children to her and felt she had failed them, though the children made their own choices.

Jason felt fury grow within him at the Elf's brusque response. "How dare you!" He said, his voice rough with anger. He forced himself to remember that here, in Alageasia, his rank as prince was equal to the rank of a dragon rider. Still he could not stop his indignation. "You are nothing to Tezza Mae! You are not blood, and you certainly are not family. You're a foreigner with a crush, and I won't besmirch Tezza Mae's honor by allowing you to stay in this room. I am her twin and guardian! I am the one to stay vigil here with her, not some boy elf!" Jason had never felt such anger before, to a point where he felt like leaping on the elf and tearing his throat out with bare hands. Perhaps it was because the elf had been here first with Tezza, or perhaps because the elf had left him in Bromsland. "LEAVE!" He commanded again.

Aradan's eyes sparked with anger at Jason's words. "How dare I?? How dare you, Prince! How dare you belittle your sister's feelings and my own!" The half elf slowly, dangerously, lifted himself from his chair to argue with Jason. His right hand still clasped onto Teza Mae's, but his other pointed threateningly at Jason. "You have no right to presume anything! I will not leave!" Aradan's voice slowly rose higher with each sentence, subconsciously losing the importance of being quiet while Teza Mae slept. "You have no right to claim guardianship! You lost that right the moment you lost sight of her! The moment she was captured!" He yelled back, furious. He seethed for a moment, before realizing his words. "I...I...we both have lost that right..." He glanced over to Teza Mae, a pained look in his eyes. "I should have been there..." He whispered aloud, mostly to himself.
*** "You acted the best way you thought how, Tismri. You cannot blame yourself for that." Sidhion told his mate as he entered the study, slowly stopping behind her, placing his hands on either side of her shoulders. "You need to rest tonight." He told her, easily noticing her exhausted state. "Come, your room is ready." He leaned down and kissed her forehead when he noticed her pensieve expression. "There will be plenty of time to think tomorrow; rest." He repeated to her, motioning to her feet so he could lead her to room.
*** Romulus nodded at his wife, his ears attentive to the argument that seemed to be forming in Teza Mae's room. He frowned. What was going on in there? "Go, rest, my heart. I'll take care of the boys." He told her, detaching himself a bit from his wife so he could look at her more clearly. "You haven't slept in days; I can tell." He kissed her lightly on the lips, before leaving the warmth of her arms. "Go and rest; I'll be there shortly." He told her before making his way to the arguing boys and his comotose daughter. There was going to be hell to pay if they continued to argue in front of his precious daughter.

Jason felt some part of him snap. Those words... You lost that right the moment you lost sight of her!. Sorrow and guilt beyond measure welled up within him. But so did his rage. A strangled shout of wild rage escaped his throat and before he could stop himself, he was throwing himself at Aradan. It didn't matter that the elf would best him, he just wanted to fight right now, to do something when before he had done nothing. His fury made him bold, and he threw a forceful punch at Aradan's gut, even as he tried to tackle the elf to the ground.

Teza Mae's sleep was not peaceful at all. Everything in her dreams was clouded over, but she was back in that darkened tent, being tortured once again. The girl's incessent giggling rang in her ears. Somewhere to the side, she heard the sound of Jason and Aradan arguing, though she couldn't make out the words. To her sleeping mind, she concluded that they were arguing over who should save her and whose fault her current predicament was. Just save me!!! she wanted to scream at them as again she felt the knife slice out her tounge, her left eye blinded and pained. Her scream became real as she awoke, terrified, her heart pounding and sweat breaking out over her. She visibly shook as she tried to take in her surroundings. Sachiko was nowhere in sight. She could see with her left eye again, though her vision was tinted red. But Aradan was there, and Jason was as well, and it seemed as if they had been arguing. As a matter of fact, they were still arguing, and violently. She became terrified when Jason suddenly threw a punch at Aradan. I'm still dreaming...I have to wake up. I can't take it anymore! Yet no matter how much she tried, the scene before her wouldn't go away. She screamed, closed her eyes, curled into a fetal position. She covered her ears with her hands and cried. "Stop it...stop it....STOP IT STOPITSTOPITSTOPITSTOPIT!!!!!!" ~~~~~ Tismri smiled gently at the comfort Sidhion offered her. She was grateful for his presence now, having sorely missed him for so long. "Aye, rest shall clear my mind. Perhaps then I shall be able to make better decisions." She stood to follow him to the room he had prepared for her. "It is good to be home," she told him, taking his hand. He was her only true home, and wherever he was, that was where she knew she truly belonged.

OOC: Teza Mae doesn't realize that Aradan and Jason are fighting? lol
Aradan let out a harsh sound as air escaped his lungs. Jason had lunged himself at him and now, Aradan found himself gripping around Jason's neck with one hand, pulling him down as he fell to the floor; the other hand was sent flying straight at the Prince's face. Anger boiled in Aradan as he fought Teza Mae's brother. All the tension and anger he had felt these passed weeks were now being unleashed as he sought to block, punch, and wrestle with the Prince; any form of violence would suffice for now. He was so engrossed in his fight with Jason that he didn't even notice Teza Mae wake.
OOC: I'll let the boys have their fight before Daddy comes in to break it up lol.
*** "I'm glad you feel that you're home is here, Tismri." Sidhion whispered to her as he led her inside her room. He could hear the commotion in his own room, but decided to let Romulus deal with the boys for now; after all, it was better to release some tension now before a real fight broke out. In the mean time, Sidhion would preoccupy himself to attending to Tismri's rest and needs.

Jason rolled on the floor with the elf, punching at the man's stomach, his face, even kicking when the chance presented itself. He felt something warm trickling down his face, and subconsciously knew that he had taken a good beating himself. Still he didn't give up, no matter the elf's superior strength and speed. As he was wrestling with Aradan, a shrill scream stopped him cold, which also allowed one last punch to his face. His right eye instantly began to swell, but now he didn't care about beating Aradan anymore. He completely forgot his hateful rage. Disentangling himself from the elf, Jason hurried to Teza's side. "Tezza, Tezza." he called gently, so relieved to see her awake, despite her hysterical shouts. "I'm here now, Tezza. It's Jason." He held out a hand, brushing it over her head in brotherly affection.

Teza Mae stayed curled around herself, sobbing. She couldn't understand why Jason and Aradan would be fighting. She flinched a little when she felt a touch on her hair, half-terrified that it was her tormentor again, preparing to tear her apart again. Then she heard Jason's voice and opened her eyes. The vision in her left was a little blurred and very red, distorting her view of the room. With a couple of blinks, the blurriness cleared, but her sight remained half crimson. She recognized her twin, and a mixture of relief and guilt welled up in her. She reached for him, clinging as she sobbed anew. "Jason," she cried. "Jason, I'm sorry...it's all my fault...I was just looking for Tati...I wasn't...I didn't..." Excuses for her actions seemed inadequate now. Whatever her intentions, she nearly got herself killed. She couldn't even imagine what her brother must be feeling now, especially since she had told him nothing.

Aradan was quite successful in blocking Jason's attacks, but since he was on the bottom of their wrestling match, it was difficult at the same time. In the end, Jason had managed a few good punches and kicks, making the half-elf wishing he wasn't Teza Mae's brother so he could snap his neck in half. Just as he was about to headlock Jason, Teza Mae's screaming jolted him awake from his anger, letting Jason get in a good final kick too. Aradan groaned on the floor, but managed to stagger himself to a stand as Jason rushed to his sister, trying to comfort her. Aradan wipped the trickling blood that had formed from his lip as he watched the two siblings. He glanced to his side, away from the scene, feeling worse off because he wasn't able to protect Teza Mae like he had ought. Dejected, Aradan motioned to leave the siblings alone, giving them time to speak, after all, Jason was right - he wasn't family.
Aradan brushed by Romulus, who had just entered. The elder half-elf glanced at Aradan, registering his bruised feature, before glancing over at his children. Aradan just marched right on by, a look of guilt and shame in his eyes. Romulus sighed. It was no one's fault really, well, a bit of his daughter's since she did run off, but no one could be blamed for the attack on her and Garrus; it was the Shade's fault - and he would make sure she paid dearly for it. Rom opted to lean against the doorframe, allowing Jason and Teza Mae their time before interrupting them to make sure she received rest.

Jason held Tezza tightly when she finally seemed to realize he wasn't a ghost. He rocked her gently, muttering soothing words to her and stroking her hair, feeling almost fatherly. He did his fair share of apologizing. If she ran off, it was his duty to know it and to follow right behind her. If she was tortured, it was his duty to be tortured right beside her. He wished that had been the case. He wished he had suffered the torture and given his sister time to escape. There was a bitterness in him now, towards himself. He would never forgive himself for allowing Tezza to be hurt so badly. Hearing motion by the door, he looked over to see that Aradan had left, and his father staring in. Jason turned his face away from Rom, hoping to hide the blood and bruises, as well as the tears.
