Glory held tightly onto Seth as he embraced her, perilously close to sobbing with relief. She'd missed him so much; especially after she and Daeron had their fight and he vanished, she had been so lonely. She just didn't realize it because of everything Katriana was doing to her.
She reached up to touch the hand that was tracing her face, confirming for herself that this was real. She smiled slightly, but she was also incredibly sad.
"Seth..." she whispered. "I'm sorry...I broke my promise. You noticed I wasn't back yet, I guess."

Seth's fingers danced around Glory's face in his search to embedd her features into his memory once again. One hand held her close to him, grateful that they were together again. He wouldn't let her go again. He felt her frantic fingers touch his, not realizing that both were feeling the reality of the situation. He had searched for her for so long. He smiled lightly at her words as his fingers had found their way to her lips. "It doesn't matter; you're here now." He whispered and leaned down to finally kiss her, his fingers moving away to make room for his lips.

Glory felt something she hadn't felt in a long time when Seth finally kissed her. She felt contentment...happiness. This was all she needed, and the perfection she was striving for she found in his embrace.
"I love you," she told him as she pulled away. She held herself closer to him, to show him her sincerity. She was ready to go home with him...but then...
"Ahh...Aaa...AAAAAAAAAAUUUUUUUUGGGGHHH!!!!!" A blinding pain like a whip struck through her mind and she let go of Seth, the world wheeling before her eyes. It came again, harder this time, and then again. She cried hysterically.
You think you can so easily defy me? Katriana's voice rang in Glory's mind as she collapsed in the snow, curled into a fetal position as the pain returned. You WILL return to my side, if you have any desire to live.

Sundavar wrenched away from Hyperion as Glory's torment began, the dragon feeling her Rider's pain. She flared her wings, almost following through with her instincts. She knew the pain would be relieved if they just went back to Katriana. Glory would be all right, if they returned to their mistress.
Hyp...I can't do it...We have to go back to Katriana...Glory will die if we don't!

Seth gave Glory the biggest smile ever after he heard her declaration. "I lov-" He started to say when she screamed out in pain and knelt to the ground. "Glory!!" Seth called out to her in a frantic, worried scream. "Glory!" He placed his hands on her shoulders, trying to soothe her. "Don't give in, Glory! Don't!" He called out to her, feeling an evil presence in her mind. "Let her go! Let her go! Take me! If you need someone take me!!!" He yelled out, "Just leave her alone!"

Hyperion whined when Sun flinched away from him. No...we can figure something out...something... He didn't know what else to say. We...can't fight her together!

Glory's frantic screams were only interrupted by desperate gasps for air as the pain grew more intense. Her ears were ringing, and her wide-open eyes saw nothing but a bright shade of red and yellow dots. She felt her mind clouding over, and like thorny overgrowth, Katriana's influence mounted over her thoughts, tugging her away from Seth. The more she struggled, the more it hurt. Katriana's alluring, tempting voice was in her ear again.
Everything you could ever need is with me. I can make you great...but if you refuse to return to me, well...then I no longer have any use for you. Glory's shriek redoubled as she felt like her mind was being ripped apart I can snuff out your life any time I choose...and if you don't return to me within a day, I will kill you...so make your decision very carefully...
The pain receded, the voice faded. Glory found herself coughing so hard she retched, gasping for air and shuddering.
"She's...she's so...very...angry with me..." Glory cried. "She's going to kill me if I don't go back to her...Seth...I don't want to...but...I don't want to die either!" She started clinging to him, terrified. She knew very well what Katriana was capable of, and now she understood. The Shade had connected her consciousness with Glory's. She knew everything that was happening, keeping an eye on her.

Seth felt completely helpless as he heard Glory's screams and cries. He remained by her side as she retched and cried, never wavering to give her comfort. He desperately wished to remove her pain; she had suffered so much. He rubbed her back and wrapped his arms around her when she spoke. His heart ached at her words. "We'll think of something, Glory." He kissed her forehead, while wiping her tears. "The Council will think of something so you can come home." He didn't want her to die either, and he feared, that she would have to return to Katriana while he figured out a way to free her. "I'll come with you." He told her suddenly, surprising himself at the declaration. "I don't want you to be alone there; I don't want you to feel anymore pain. I'll relay everything I've found to my Master and he'll think of something. I'm not letting you go again." He told her, firm on his decision.

Glory held onto Seth and cried, terrified and miserable over the choices she made. She took his comforting words at face value. He would find some way to rescue her, she knew. She held onto him more tightly when he decided to come with her, but looked away.
"I'm...I'm not sure...that would be such a good idea..." she said hesitantly. Daeron came to her mind. Now that she could somewhat think on her own, she felt horrible over the way she treated him when it came to Sachiko. She still didn't approve of the crazy woman, but she knew he really cared about her, and she thought of how she might feel if someone saidd those things to her about Seth.
She also thought of how Seth had disappeared, and around that same time, Sachiko went stark raving mad. She killed dozens of Katriana's soldiers, screaming, laughing, and wailing all the while. And Glory remembered seeing Katriana during this rampage, and seeing the delighted smile on the Shade's face. Glory felt that, somehow, she must have planned all of this to happen.
"I don't think Katriana approves of romantic relationships," she explained to Seth, her voice wavering a little. "But...if you're determined to come with me, I'll be so glad."

"I don't care what she thinks, I'm coming with you, Glory." Seth told her. "I'm not leaving you alone to face her. Master Sidhion will find a way to free you, and so will I." Seth assured her, already thinking of a plan to allow Katriana to leave Glory be. He had not been idle the last year - he had traveled all over Alageasia, trained, and gained much understanding of the Shade. "I'll make her understand me." He told Glory, kissing her forehead. "Come on, let's get going. It'll take us some time to get back to you Lady; I don't want you in any pain. As we travel, I'll scry Master Sidhion and give him all I know." Seth told Glory as he helped her stand.
