Eva looked down at the snow covered ground, her cheeks heating at Shiki's implications. "No. I did not succeed in freeing Glory. However, upon the mission I was able to glean important information from a shade Antien and I encountered in battle. We found out that Glory has willingly joined this Katriana's army. We know that Glory has been made into an exceptional killer, and we also know now, that getting her back, will be more than a matter of penetrating the shade army." Eva kicked the snow around with a boot, drawing pointless designs in the cold powder. "It's my hope that I will meet Glory in battle, and there convince her of her folly." She glanced back up at Shiki, to see what sharp remark he had for this.

Shiki raised an eyebrow at Eva's news. Glory was being turned into a killer? For some reason, that picture did not fit well in his head at all. Gloriann was much too sweet, kind, and quiet to be turned into a ruthless slayer. True, she was sometimes a bit...proud of her magical talent, but he couldn't fault her for that. But killing just wasn't in her nature, to the Glory he knew. "You're assuming Seth doesn't get there first," he mentioned, rather than stating the more obvious if she doesn't kill you. He gave a smirk, knowing Seth and Hyperion had charged off about the same time Eva and Eos had. Shiki hadn't heard from them since, but Tismri had assured everyone that they were safe, and being privately instructed in Alagaesia. He stretched for a moment, then stood next to Yuki's head and glanced up at the stars. "You should get some sleep," he told her. "Tomorrow is going to be another long day." ~~~~~ Katriana smiled warmly at the boy's statements, but her eyes burned dangerously into his. She might just have to keep an eye on him... "Yes, you are," she told him. Her tool, her weapon, used to spread her vengeance across Alagaesia, retribution for the death of her king. That was her true purpose; her visions of peace were just manipulations for the pathetic individuals who followed her. She glanced over at Elijah with a deadly silencing glare. If he said so much as another word, she would have Sachiko carve his tounge out later. And then allow Vanilor to eat him. "Perhaps you do need a bit more of a test, Daeron. You are obviously much stronger than you were than you left, beyond the skill of these pathetic fools. "Two dragons were seen earlier this day flying across the fringes of our territory, bearing Riders. Whatever they are up to, it cannot be good for our cause. You should test your newfound skills against them." She turned away, content with her plans. Then she paused, as if a thought just came to her. "Well, I suppose four against one would be rather unfair. You need a companion, but who...?" She let the question hang in the air for a moment, only Lycus and Vanilor knowing what she had in mind. It was delicious to imagine how he might reaction. "Ah, I know. Since you have been on a successful mission with him before, Tyrant should go along with you."

Daeron's lip twitched at the mention of his partner for his newly assigned mission. Tyrant! That cur! He would cut out his heart with his bear fingers for making his life miserable. His thoughts instantly went to Sachiko, reminding himself that he would have to speak with her as soon as this mission was over. He really hoped that what he felt in his heart about the situation was true; that Sachi had a good reason for kissing that boy. His thoughts only raced through his mind within seconds and not a trace of emotion was shone on Daeron's face during it. "If you believe that we will work well together, Katriana, then I will abide to your wisdom." Daeron stated, keeping his voice even and devoid of exposing his true thoughts, just like his mother taught.
At the mention of his name, Tyrant appeared. "Did someone request me?" The Shade asked, having watched Daeron's little performance with intrigue and was even eavesdropping on the conversation. "Who would you like me to torment today, Kat?" Tyrant asked, knowing full well what his mission was already.

Eva raised an eyebrow at Shiki. It seemed he had little faith in her these days. If Seth reached Glory first, so be it, but that did not mean that Eva would stop trying. "You're right, rest would be good. Wake me for second watch." Standing, she stretched and prepared her bedroll next to Eos's warm side. Laying down, she closed her eyes just as Eos unfurled a wing to cover her. "Goodnight, Shiki." she called out, her voice muffled.

Shiki felt as if there was suddenly an awkward rift between him and Eva. He wasn't sure what he'd said, though. He hoped it was just the evening weighing heavily on his mind. It's not, Yuki informed him with a huff as he moved to sit on her shoulder. You just don't know when to shut your mouth. He sighed at that, patting her neck as he scanned the horizon every few seconds, keeping a watch out. Last he'd been out, the Shade's territory had only reached several leagues north of their position. He thought they were relatively safe here, but he couldn't help the prickling in the back of his neck, cautious of anything that might happen. ~~~~~ Kat was impressed by Daeron's controlled voice. She sensed he was concealing his emotions, and he was doing it with a discipline that is only acquired with training. Certainly nothing she would have expected from Elijah, who constantly pranced about like a fool. Still, she was certain she sensed a sort of tightness in his voice. As Tyrant appeared eagerly before her, Katriana gave him a cool expression for a moment, as always annoyed by his very presence. However, knowing from the reports who it was on their territory, she favored her fellow Shade a gentle smile and a light caress on his cheek. "Oh, a couple of Riders have been seen on the edge of our territory. On of them I believe you've confronted rather recently. Yellow dragon; young, female, red-haired Rider." She gave a lingering laugh, knowing Daeron would also likely recognize the description. After all, they both came from the same nest of rats. "Have fun, my dears," she told them as she returned to Van's side.

Daeron's eyebrow twitched in recognition of the Rider that they would be fighting. Cousin Eva. He withheld a frown as he did not want Katriana to dislodge him from this mission. Also, it was imperative that he remained "loyal" with the Shade for their endgame to work.
Tyrant's sadistic grin grew larger at the identity of the Rider. "Ah! Little Dearie! I've been eager to strangle her senseless." He laughed. "Thank you, Kat! I will make sure she ends with much pain." He gave a sideway glance to Daeron. "Or maybe I should give you the pleasure." "Whatever Katriana wishes, it will be done." Daeron replied, but with tightness in his voice. He gave a bow to Katriana before leaving with Tyrant. He could hear Elijah's voicing some final words as he did so. "Have fun, Daeron! Remember, play nice with the other kiddies and give them a real spectacle! It wouldn't be good to let Kit Kat down!" He yelled out before giving Katriana a little bow and bouncing off to do whatever he did.
"Let's get this over with." Daeron replied to the Shade, who glanced at him with an amused expression. "Oh, but I want to make the pain linger..." He replied and Daeron could not tell if that threat was directed at himself or Eva.

Shiki continued his silent vigil as the night wore on, the stars cold and pale overhead. You should sleep, Yuki told him, giving him a nudge. He shrugged, scanning the trees again. I can sleep on the flight tomorrow, he assured her, just as he heard movement nearby. He stood and dropped to the ground, gazing intently. Yuki...can you tell what it is? he asked her. She was very still for several moments, sniffing the air. Then she scrambled to her feet and raised her wings. Trouble, she told him. Shiki cursed to himself silently; he should have guessed the Shade had expanded her territory. "Eva, Eos," he called to them. "You better wake up; we're about to have company."

Daeron was going to kill Tyrant! The accursed Shade was making so much noise! He swore that he was doing it on purpose! The Family assassin had neared himself a good 6 feet from the campsite, downwind so the dragons wouldn't smell him, but that stupid Shade was upwind and stomping around like an idiot! And to make matters worse, the Shade spoke. Daeron sighed, but didn't reveal himself as Tyrant did.
"Yoowhoo! Where are you Dearie?!" Tyrant called out into the night, eager to start a fight. "Can you come out to play?" He asked and cackled immediately after. He sensed that one of them were awake already. So, now, he best have both of them awake. "Brisingr!" Tyrant called out with a laugh as he surrounded the whole campsite with flames.
Daeron cursed! What was that Shade doing!? He rolled to his left, avoiding the flames that had bursted around the site. This was not what they agreed on! They were suppose to sneak up on them, not alert them! But perhaps, this would give his cousin a chance to escape; he did not want to kill her.
