OOC: This thread takes place right after Gianna leaves Uru'baen the second time (the thread Gil'aed) and Einar has been tortured by Galbatorix. And now he has made foolish vows to kill her, even though he loves her. This is focused on Einar going insane after making so many vows in the Ancient Language to kill Gianna. Its the start of him going coo coo. lol. The timeline may jump around....just a warning...lol
*** A chittering sound wheezed by Einar; the attack nearly landing on his ear as he deftly rolled away. His ears could hear the electrical attack explode the training racks off to the side. Einar sneered at his opponent. Tyr Valentine. The man was the bane of Einar's existence. Since he could remember, the magician only delighted to make his life miserable. He didn't know why; Stigandr said he must do with some rival complex that the young crazy magician had toward him.
Einar skidded out of his roll and back onto his feet. His predatory eyes never leaving his prey. Tyr held his trademark smirk. The man was indeed insufferable. All Tyr ever cared about was fullfilling his carnal desires, which ranged from killing, pleasuring women, and killing some more. The man had no heart. But yet again, Einar realized, neither did he. Since his birth he was taught to have no emotion - to have no heart. And yet, these few weeks have utterly tested those non-existant feelings he was suppose to possess. His mind drifted to Gianna. That woman had the capability to stir up strange, but pleasant emotions within Einar. He loved her, there was no doubt, but the vows he made to the King in the Ancient tongue now governed him. It confused the assassin Rider greatly; why did his surrogate Father torture him so? Why did he make the vows to kill the woman he loved? It was all foolhardy. And for once, Einar truly doubted his upbringing.
Focus! Tyr is coming at you with his blade! Stigandr's voice echoed into his Rider's mind.
Einar swore. He was caught up with his own musings; that was a terrible distraction. Einar quickly released his twin blades from their sheaths and met Tyr's blade with fevor.
"What's wrong Einar? You seem distracted." Tyr teased. "Is your mind on that wonderful redhead? You know, I think there's a wonderful bounty on her head..." Tyr let out a malicious smile.
"Don't you dare touch her!" Einar growled out, his blades swinging toward Tyr's neck. He would not let Tyr go anywhere near Gianna.
"Oh, touchy, touchy." Tyr laughed as he bounced back. "Can it be that the mighty silver rider is infatuated with the Redhead?" Tyr continues to laugh and taunt. "That would not be good, as she is a traitor to our beloved king." He replied in a sing-song voice. He enjoyed torturing his rival.
Einar growled out. "It is none of your concern!" He holds out his gedwey ignasia and can instantly feel his desire begin to tingle through it. "BRISINGR!" Large fireballs appeared before Einar as he commanded the flames to cascade toward his pig of an opponent.
"Whoa!" Tyr's eyes went wide; he hadn't expected those. He quickly dodged the first two. The flames screaming by, scorching his garments a little. Tyr tsked, but didn't have time as he was again dancing away from the other balls of flame.
The training ground was a chaotic sight as the flames erupted around them, causing destruction on the field. Einar cared little; he just wanted to shut this man up.
Tyr dodged the final flames, barely. His forehead was now beaded with sweat and his eyes were in a tight narrow frown as he stared at his opponent. It looked like he struck a nerve with Einar. He was about to utter a deadly spell when he spotted a figure looming toward their training field; which was odd since they were in the farthest and biggest field and people rarely ventured out unless it was a dire message. Tyr squinted to see who the figure was, but the next thing he knew, a throbbing pain erupted across his face and he was staring up at the sky. Did Einar just punch him in the face?

OOC: Wow, that was some pretty smooth editing. Nicely done. "Are you sure of him?" Arquen had asked Lucien from where they had stood hidden from sight of the training field, watching Einar and Tyr battling each other. "He makes an excellent candidate," Lucien replied. "However, no I am not certain. His loyalties lie elsewhere. I wouldn't trust him to obey our tenants. But I think I will continue to observe him for a while. Time may tell a different story. I am hoping that he will become an excellent brother." Arquen nodded, observing the fight heat up--literally. "You had best get back to the sancu--" she had begun to say, but in turing to face him, she found her stealthy Brother no longer by her side. She smiled, amazed that a human could be such a master of shadow. She slid down the trunk of the tree on which she had been standing and began to walk toward the training field. She hid a smirk on her face as Einar delivered a punch directly in Valentine's face, leaving the magician sprawled on the ground. Her expression changed to one that resembled concern, and she rushed to his side. "Are you all right, Valentine?" she asked. Truthfully, she couldn't care less if he was, knowing the kind of man he was. But she enjoyed pretending; also, as a fellow member of the Black Hand, she felt it prudent to look after the well-being of her comrades.

OOC: Really? Thanks. That means a lot, especially since I couldn't think well last night. lol
Einar glanced down at Tyr with a clenched fist and an angry scowl. His chest heaved up and down from aggravation; he would not allow the womanizer assassin anywhere near Gianna; he would not allow any one near her. Einar had to admit: Tyr's comment had sent him into an blind rage. A rage that would only be satatied with his fist in the man's face; the primal instinct of his own hand maiming his opponent sent a thrill down his spine.
Einar continued to gaze down at Tyr being nursed by the elf assassin, Arquen. The appearance of the elf snapped Einar out of his impromtu rage and he merely stood back with clenched fists; anger seemingly becoming a frequent emotion and the need to control it as well. He did not regret pummeling Tyr. Perhaps that would send the message that Gianna was off limits. He would kill Tyr if he tried anything, for in his heart, she was his world; he would go through hell and back if she asked him to. The conflicted assassin let out a mental sigh as his gaze flickered off toward Surda. He would not allow himself to see her again; it would be her death for the vows he made would force his heart to kill her, and that, he would not be able to bear; he would rather end his life than her's. Einar's ears perked up at the sound of the elf's voice. He could not show his confliction in front of others. Masking his features in a stone, if but scowling, stare, Einar turned to the new presence in the training ground.
*** Tyr blinked the black spots out of his vision as his brain processed the events that landed him on his rear. He sneered up at Einar. That imbecile will regret such an offense. He was about to retaliate when a feminine voice caught his attention. "I am well; Einar hit's like a woman after all." Tyr's eyes flickered over to the elf that appeared next to him. He deftly wiped away the trinkling of blood that had escaped his cut mouth; Einar's hit was far more powerful than a woman's, but Tyr's pride and ego would never admit it. "Now, what is such a heavenly woman doing her greeting me? I must have done something to please the Gods." Tyr flashed Arquen his charming smile. He ignored the snort that escaped Einar's scowling lips.

Arquen smiled at Tyr's attempted insult at Einar. She could clearly see that he had been caught off guard and the blow had hurt more than he was letting on. "I don't know, Valentine," she told him, reaching down to help him up. "I know some girls who hit pretty hard. You might want to be careful." She winked at him. She wouldn't be surprised if he got some poor female so riled up at him that she attempted violence. She restrained a disgusted sound at Tyr's flirting; she would never even consider him once. If she ever wanted a mate, she would look for one who wanted more than her body. "Well, I would say I came out here to practice," she said, indicating the quiver of her infamous black-fletched arrows on her back. "However, that would not be the entire truth." Her eyebrows furrowed. She was unused to running errands for Jeshelle--that was normally Saenon's job. But this was of fairly important detail, and it was a joined effort on multiple Black Hand members. "I came to make an inquiry, of both of you. Have either of you ever run a mission against the Varden where you met a certain Commander Shepard?" She wanted to know as much about their target as possible. Shepard was likely going to be their focus for a mission the Black Hand would undergo, and largely without the knowledge of even Galbatorix. She and the others involved wanted to be sure of Shepard's character, in order to see that she was the right choice.

Tyr let out a small sigh as Arquen ignored his attempt to flirt with her; she never did seem to succumb to him. Oh well, there were other women in the world. With Arquen's help, Tyr was soon back on his feet. At the mention of training, Tyr couldn't help but let out another comment. "I would be happy to help you increase your stamina." His lewd remark flowed from his charming smile.
"Tyr, leave her be." Einar's deceptively calm voice slipped in as he was intrigued to know of Arquen's other motives of being here. After all, the elf was not one to idly waste her time or anyone else's.
"You don't command me, Einar." Tyr snapped back, but shut his mouth all the same. He too was curious of Arquen's other reason for being here.
Both assassins listened to Arquen's question. Tyr shrugged. "No, unfortunately, I have not had the pleasure to meet said Commander, however her reputation is notorious among the soldiers, enough to match Lord Barst's, I hear." Tyr commented. "I would personally love to meet this woman face to face; taming her would be a fun challenge." Tyr smirked.
"Commander Shepard is indeed a formidable opponent. I myself have not been sent on any missions that involved her or her men." Einar replied, glancing at Tyr with some distaste; he had not missed his last comment. "As you know, Arquen, my skills are best for the shadows, that is until Stigandr hatched for me, so I have never encountered the Commander. However, as Tyr has so indicated, her reputation is noteworthy, but not as merciless as Lord Barst. She is an honorable fighter and one that holds the loyalty of her men with stalwartness. I have heard that she is not one to give up, even if the odds are against her. She is hardpressed to failure and a good soldier."
"My my, Einar, have you fallen for her as well?" Tyr snided in, earning him another swift punch to the face from his target. "Oof! I take that as a yes!" Tyr laughed and was prepared to meet Einar's additional attack.
"Shut up, Valentine! You don't know anything about me!" Einar growled out. "I apologize, Arquen, but I will take my leave." Einar inclined his head at the elf and began to leave the training ground. He wasn't sure if he could stop himself from turley killing Tyr should another remark be made.
"Well, he sure has been touchy since that traitor left." Tyr commented to Arquen.

Arquen listened with quiet contemplation as both men gave their input on the Varden commander. Tyr's description was hardly noteworthy; he seemed to know less about the woman that she already did. Einar, however, intrigued her with his summation. For knowing only of her reputation, he seemed to have a certain opinion of her already. And she knew, better than most, that he was an excellent judge of character. One of the reasons why she hoped to someday call him Brother. She gave Einar a small nod as he excused himself, hiding an amused grin at his abuse toward Tyr. She was glad someone had the nerve to put the unbearable man in his place. "He did seem happier while she was here," she remarked to Tyr as Einar left. "I would have been surprised if he were acting otherwise. Her...betrayal...seems to have left him shaken." She had a lot to think about now. Between watching Einar for a chance to invite him to the Family, and digging into their plans for Shepard, she scarcely had time to think about anything else.

Tyr scoffed as he watched Einar's retreated back. "He should have never left his heart open. Emotions make us weak and careless. He shoud have known that this was going to turn out this way." The dark assassin commented as he turned his attention to Arquen. "So, why the sudden interest in Commander Shepard? What type of mission are you planning," a devious grin appeared, "and may I join in the carnage?"
*** She betrayed you! She left! She only used you to obtain better standing in society! You think that is love? Galbatorix's words continued to echo into Einar's mind. Shut up! Einar hissed. He knew better. Gianna loved him, and he loved her. He forced the memory of their departing kiss into his mind. He hoped she was doing well. You must kill her, Einar son of Daganat! She is a traitor! Einar shook his head, causing some servants to glance at him curiously as he made his way to Stigandr. No, no...I will not. He told his mind, which continued to send memories of Galbatorix's torture. I will not kill the one I love...I was naive...I didn't know any better...he manipulated me. He told his mind. Einar...peace...if you continue to argue with your own memories, one would find you turning mad. Stigandr's peaceful voice echoed in with concern. I'm all right. Its just, the vows are willing me to kill Gianna...and they are more persistant since the King found out that Gianna and Gladia are still alive. I know...Kalri's deception could only last for so long. What do you plan to do? I just want to keep them safe...I can help make it safe if I rid her of some of the threats that plague her. What are you planning my Rider? Stigandr did not like the thought process of his Rider at all...

Arquen considered Tyr's words. She could never be so cold; emotions were what shaped her as a being. Be it happiness or anger, sadness, or even complacency. No being could be truly without emotion, no matter how far down they were buried. She smirked at her companion's change in topic. She was sure he was going to ask about it sometime. "Nothing too particular," she assured him. "She is a formidable opponent. I'm rather surprised her rank is so low. I can see her becoming a general soon." She gave Tyr an intense, knowing gaze. "If she can survive that long." She hoped that those world would instill an idea in the man. They needed to separate the commander from her ever-present squad if they were to capture her. The best way to do that would likely be a full-on assault, which would take time to organize. ~~~~~ Eron smiled as she dug through her belongings, finding her parents' various rewards for valor. She'd inherited them when they died, and she kept them as mementos. Most soldiers saw little reason for sentimentality, but she enjoyed these reminders. She wished they could still be here, to watch her as she accomplished the impossible. She'd made friends with so many people, and those under her command trusted her with their lives, and for good reason. She turned around suddenly when she heard someone enter her tent, wondering who it could be this late in the evening.

Tyr smirked. "No, I doubt she will survive very long in this so called war." Tyr mused, wondering what Arquen was referring to. He did not mistake her intense gaze for lust, but rather of purpose. Now, he only had to do some digging of his own. This so called Commander must possess something that the Black Hand wanted...now, he was going to see what it was...personally. "Well, Arquen, my dear, this topic has now bored me, would you allow me to relieve you of some of your stress?" He gave a suggestive smile before adding, "you did say you came to train. May I oblige you?" He muttered a spell, and his right hand was soon cackling as lightening danced around it.
*** Sam slipped inside Eron's tent, pleased with his new idea that would certaintly please her. It was late, he knew that, but life waited for no man and he was bound to continue to make her laugh, even until they grew old and decrepit together. He held a large, if a bit mischievous, smile on his face as he entered. "Ah! I thought you would be up!" He glanced at the items that were before her. "What are you doing?" He tilted his head, amused. "And can you come out and play?"

Arquen watched Tyr's expression carefully. It seemed her words had caused some idea to come to his mind. She hoped it would be a nudge in the right direction. His change in topic made her smirk. "You really want to train with an elf who has lived more than a century than you?" she asked him. The lightning in his hand seemed a rather pitiful show. In one swift movement, she had her bow, loaded, aimed and fired directly at his palm, and replaced the weapon before the human eye could so much as blink. "Well I have to say, I don't mind riddling you with holes if that's what you really want." She smiled sweetly, doubting he would want the pleasure of her company much longer that day. ~~~~~ Eron smiled as she saw Sam, her heart beating a little faster at the sight of his mischievious grin. "Hello, Captain," she greeted him. She called him that out of respect for his superior position, as well as something of an nickname of affection. She knew it probably bothered him, but she had to be exceptionally off guard to call him by his name. She looked down at the items. "I was just looking at a few of my parents' mementos." She put the things away as she raised a curious eyebrow at him. "Oh, no. Do I even want to know what you have planned?" she asked as she stepped up to him.

Tyr snarled out as he felt an arrow pierce his hand. The damn elf was fast! The spell he held ended quickly as the blood began to flow. "Ah, it seems I see, you are indeed a lethal woman; I'll remember that." Tyr hissed out. His eyes were dark and deadly. He did not like being wounded. Although some women enjoyed a scarred man, Tyr did not. He loved himself too much to allow it to be tainted. He continued to stare at Arquen, desperately controlling his anger. She was right. She had a century of training ahead of him and she was an elf. It would be a meaningless attempt to try and kill her without Galbatorix wanting his head for it. "Perhaps, I will have the pleasure of playing with you another day." He did his best not to hiss at her as he left her to tend to his hand. It seemed he would have another reason to become the best of the Black Hand, if only have the pleasure of killing those that displeased him. Tyr stalked off, annoyed that he had been bested twice this day.
OOC: Man...he's so full of himself...lol
*** "Captain!?" Sam cringed and pouted at the title. "I thought we agreed you would call me Sam? Especially when we're off duty!" He exclaimed dramatically, despite his own heart beating faster when she used it in such an affectionate way. "You need to loosen up, Eron! Which is why, I'm sneaking you out!" His mischievous smile appeared again and he revealed a black cloth, dangling it in front of her face. "Do you trust me?" He asked her as he intended to blindfold her to the fun he planned to have tonight.

Arquen smiled as Tyr stalked off. She truly did despise the man's attitude and was more than glad to take him down a notch. "Take care, Valentine," she called to him. "Let me know next time you want to play." With him now gone, she could focus on more important matters. There was so much that needed to be done, and a limited amount of time. ~~~~~ Eron chuckled lightly as Sam pouted, his exaggerated behavior always raising her spirits. Out of all her friends and comrades, she found herself drawn closest to him. She glanced down at the blindfold he procured and lifted up her hands. "Where are you going to take me?" she asked. "I don't like not seeing where I'm going, you know." His question caused her to stop her protests, though, and she obliged him. "Yes, I trust you. But I swear, if Garrus or Jack put you up to this, I'll have your hide, Captain or not."

OOC: I'm going to do a time jump with Einar in a moment, but I want to finish Sam's surprise before I do that. hehe.
Sam grinned wider; it made him happy to hear that she trusted him. He shook his head furiously, as if trying to play something off. "No, no...this is my own doing. They're not involved...well...not this part...but, uh, you'll see!" He gave her an innocent look as he moved behind her to place the blindfold on. "I promise you, Eron, you'll always be safe with me; I would never lead you astray." He whispered into her ear as he drew behind her. He resisted the urge to embrace her from behind and instead, carefully placed the cloth over her eyes and tied it securely to her. "Not too tight?" He asked her, his voice still low, to his surprise.
OOC: Yay for fluff! lol

That playful look in his eyes brought both comfort and ease to Eron. She knew he would never harm her, but she still wasn't sure she wanted whatever he had in store. But when he lowered his voice to a whisper, she felt all the tension drain from her body. She couldn't help but feel drawn to him, and had to resist the urge to lean into him as he walked around behind her. Any nerves she might have experienced in being blinded was eased by his gentle voice. "It's just right," she assured him, her voice as soft as his. She held out a hand for him to take in order to guide her to wherever he was going to take her. She smirked slightly. "Well, Captain, let's get on with this. The sooner I can see again, the better I'll feel."

"Good." Sam nodded, even though Eron could not see him, pleased with that the band was not tight. He let out an exasperated sigh as she once again called him by Captain. "One of these days, I'm going to have you go around and call me Sam or have Garrus follow you around with a pan - banging it whenever the word 'Captain" flees those pretty lips of yours!" He declared as he carefully took her hands to guide her. "Now, be an obedient soldier and follow me." He chuckled and carefully guided her out of the tent and toward a hill that was on the outskirts of the camp, instructing her where to step and cautiously helping her avoid any obstacles.
"Okay, now, gently sit down." He instructed her as he motioned to help her sit on a blanket that he had placed there earlier. "It's going to start soon!" He chuckled. "You can take the blindfold off now."
The two were seated on the outskirts of the Varden camp, and with Sam's strikingly good conversational skills, he had gotten Jormunder's approval, although a bit reluctant approval - to have the magicians set off some fireworks. He, Garrus, and Jack and plotted the idea of letting the soldiers relax a bit; they all had sensed the stress of the day, and coerced the magicians to do them this favor...but of course, the dear Captain would have to return the favor one day, as payment for this little antic. Riker had also ensured that the soldiers knew of the fireworks, so not to cause an alarmed riot. He only had the troops keep their mouth shut so that Eron had no clue what was going on, as he wanted her to especially enjoy the sight without her repriminding them for being a bit reckless tonight. And so, he procurred this nice little spot just for her and himself, as he hoped to improve their relationship from more than it currenlty was.
