Character's name: Evander Vallen, but is known as The Warden
Character's age: 25
Character's attitude: Evander is a man who seeks to do good and believes in fighting for those that cannot do so themselves. He is honest, cunning, and honorable. Evander lives by a moral code of his ancestors, which dictates that he must sacrifice all he has for the greater good. One must be careful, for he will never hesitate to kill someone who has done wrong to another (though there are exceptions, which are dictated by his code).
Character's Race: Human
Character's appearance: Due to his calling as The Warden, no one is permitted to know his face, and he guards this secret fiercely (only his Father, who trained him knows, but he died) He is 6'2" tall, medium built, has blue eyes, black hair and a neatly trim beard. He also bears a scar from the left corner of the bridge of his nose and across his left cheek (see pic).
His Warden appearance:
Light armor that he uses to gather information:
What he truly looks like:
Character's allegiance: Dragon Riders, Queen Nasuada
Weapons: Two swords that each contain a red ruby in each pommel for energy purposes. Two daggers that are placed on his thighs. An ebony bow and iron headed arrows. Magic.
Other Info: The Warden are all descendants of the Vallen line, leaving Evander to take upon the mantle. The Warden has been aiding Alagaesia for nearly two hundred years as a guardian and peacekeeper.
History: Evander was born into one of the noble houses of Abernon. Since his birth, Evander was destined to take upon the mantle of the renown, but unknown protector, Warden. The Warden was a warrior that protected the less fortunate from those that sought to annihilate peace and justice; he originated from the city Abernon before it became the capital of Surda (when all the land was of one nation). Evander was taught the strict code of the Warden by his father, along with the skills and artistry required to protect the land's citizens, since the age of six. Along with this code, Evander was never to reveal his face to anyone for fear of retribution to those close to him and his family.
At the age of 16, Evander began to appear as the Warden - switching once in awhile with his Father. When Evander was 18, he finally donned the image completely after his Father was killed by mercenaries during a rescue attempt of a noble family. Since then, Evander has become vigorous in maintaining the Warden persona, especially now, during the new war. He has sworn himself to aid Queen Nasuada (as long as she remains honest and true to her calling as Queen) and the Dragon Riders and can be found on the forefront of most major battles thus far.
Role Play Sample: A twelve year old Evander was dutifully remembering the mental notes he had taken of his Father's words on maintaining swords. As he carefully rubbed the blade against the sharpening stone, the young boy began to imagine himself as the Warden.
One day, Evander knew, he would fully get to wield these weapons. To fight for what was right! The young boy could not wait! He was so excited that he picked up the sword he was sharpening and began to slash it around in the air, pretending to slice through his enemies.
"Evander!" His father reprimanded, surprising the boy with his appearance.
Evander yelped out in surprise, causing him to miss catching the sword that he had just twirled in the air. Unprepared for such a thing, Evander attempted to grip the sword back, but the blade had flipped itself toward him, slashing him across his nose and left cheek. Evander screamed in pain, stumbled onto his rear, and barely registered the sword clattering onto the floor. "I'm sorry!" Evander screamed out once he felt his father's presence grow closer, blood dripping down his face.
"Hush, now, Evander; I'm not angry." His father's voice was gentle, but stern as he knelt down to aid his son. "You must be careful." A sigh escaped him as he called upon magic to heal Evander's wound. "I can only heal it so much, Evander; I'm not as gifted in magic as your grandfather."
"Its...its okay..." Evander stuttered out between tears as he tried not to bawl from the pain. He was eternally grateful that his father was not angry with him.
"You must remember, Evander. The Warden's duty is very important and must be taken seriously; you cannot play around with it again, do you understand?" He continued to heal and clean his son's face.
"Yes, Father." Evander whispered, feeling ashamed for his actions.
"All right. Come on, I'm going to teach you how to pay attention to that sword and surroundings better." His father stood and then helped Evander to his feet, noting the young boy's smile.
