OOC: I feel like throwing a party just to crash it. And I want to bring in a few of my more epic characters, along with a TON of disposable NPCs. lol
Weiss and Ruby each sat respectfully silent on either side of their father, with Yang sitting on the other side of Weiss. This marriage was a very odd concept to the girls, who were raised in the elven society where each picked their mates for however long was necessary. To Weiss, however, the fact that a ceremony went with this binding between two mates for the length of their lives made sense. It seemed a monumental occasion, as the decision would direct the couple's entire life.
Yang was rather bored with the whole thing. She only came along because her father asked that his daughters come with him--for her, to observe the customs of their human allies, and the other two to understand this half of themselves a little better. She wondered if it was more for the fact that he wanted an excuse to bring his entire family together for a short while.
Ruby spent the entire ceremony examining the crowd, all the while tense. Despite the atmosphere of joy coming from the gathering, she somehow sensed something dark lingering within. She had the feeling that something wasn't right, and her keen eyes continued to observe the area.
It was amazing what a pair of shoes and a tad bit of needlework could do. With a few quick modifications, Sachiko went from a crazed urchin to a somewhat respectful looking lady. Keeping her distance from everyone, they could hardly even guess at her true nature.
This ceremony was a key occasion for Katriana. The noble families of Lithgrow and Teirm were uniting together in this marriage, strengthing the ties between Surda and the rest of the Empire. And as it was such a grand location, nobles from nearly every race were in attendance. Elves, dwarves, Surdans, Alagaesians, and Ismalians were present here; the only race absent was Urgals at the insistance of the bride's family. With so many high-ranking government officials gathered in one place, this was the perfect time to strike.
Sachiko's job was clear enough. She had to silently eliminate the guards, in order to allow the rest of Katriana's forces inside. She decided to wait until the reception began, and most of the attendees would be distracted with food and drink and merriment.

As the reception continued on and the people began to feast and drink, the three sisters and their father stood off respectfully.
"I suppose I can see why they wish to make a celebration out of it," Weiss admitted to her father. "And the idea of such a limited lifespan may make the choosing of only one mate seem more important."
"And which would you choose, dear?" her father asked. "Your mother was human, and I will admit that she held the idea of staying my mate for the rest of her life. I loved her enough that I was willing to do so for her. But would you wish to be bound to one and only one for your life?"
"It all depends, Father," she replied. "It depends one whether I choose a human as a mate, or an elf. Ruby and I are part of two worlds, which lends to us the opportunity and flexibility to choose."
Yang turned to converse with her youngest sister, who still seemed distracted by something.
"What's got you so worked up, Ruby?" she asked. Ever since she'd run off to start her life killing Shades and the like, it seemed Ruby was always tense, as if there was something evil lurking anywhere she stood.
"Something's wrong here," she replied, as if confirming Yang's thoughts. "With all this revelry going on, with so many nobles gathered...it just feels like the perfect place for an ambush of some sort."
"Then it better hurry up and happen," Yang stated, flexing her wrists and cracking her knuckles. "I've been bored out of my mind all day."
Wandering out into the halls, Sachiko began her hunt. Stealth wasn't generally her style, but she could use it when necessary. She ended up sending most of the guards' bodies falling unsatisfactorily out windows, unable to linger over their torturous deaths as she desired. Her only comfort was that she would be able to do so later, to other victims. On the occasion that the guards noticed her before she dealt with them, she put her acting skills to use, pretending she'd had too much drink and not enough air in the reception hall, allowing them to get close to her so she could end them quickly. Before too long, she exited the castle to alert her companions that they were clear to enter.
