Tismri kept her eyes upward as she ran, watching the scenery pass by her. Though she was moving at a speed that would match most elves, she could still make out the fine details of the objects she passed. She trusted in her feet as she bounded over obstacles, enjoying the freedom beyond what he had experienced in a long time. It was exhilarating to just be herself for once, without the pressures of expectations placed upon her. Her steps remained steady and her breathing even as Sidhion glided past her. She smiled; he had an advantage, she knew, but she wasn't going to let him win easily. She paced herself, though she sped up a bit to just about match his speed. As he glanced back at her, she gave him a larger smile and a quick wink. She wasn't racing so much as a challenge. It was more for the enjoyment of the exercise, and to spend a longer time with him. The three-hour run passed without even much notice of the time passing for her.

Three hours later, Sidhion skidded to a stop, panting just a bit after their run. He still felt exhilarted, as the adrenaline was still pumping through him. Halfway through their run, Sidhion had finally abandoned the notion of racing with Tismri, to simply run with her. He enjoyed her company immensely, even if they spoke little. He glanced over to her, his eyes dancing with energy and merriment.
They had finally reached their destination. His home was simple, for an elf. He had sung it into being, having it molded into a tree. He sometimes wondered why he did so, as he spent most of his nights sleeping with Locien under the stars. Perhaps to have a place to call home. He really didn't know.
The elf moved toward the spiral staircase that garnished itself around the tree and to the high leveled house. "Would you like some tea?" Sidhion asked Tismri after gathering his breath and led her up and inside the house.

Tismri took a moment or two to steady her breathing when they finally reached their destination. Keeping up the pace had been a little more difficult that she'd first thought; the lack of proper exercise for such long periods had taken its toll. "Tea would be lovely, thank you," she told him as she followed Sidhion up the stairs to his home. It was made in traditional elven style, which she found rather comforting. She'd always felt a measure of peace when she visited one of the elven cities. It was rather simple as well, and homely, if seemingly a bit underused. She could tell that he, much like herself, prefered to spend most of his time outside, likely with Locien. She took a seat at the table as she let her hair down again; she always liked the feel of the long strands running free. She watched the elf curiously for several long moments, wondering what was on his mind. "How have the years treated you?" she asked him. "You seem much more at peace now than when we last met."

Sidhion moved to make the tea, placing the water filled kettle over a fire he had just started when Tismri sat down. He glanced over at her, his eyes enthralled with her as she let down her hair. Hiding his emotions, he turned away. She had made it clear before that she had not wished to recipricate his feelings, so it was inappropriate fro him to act on his. He went to a cupboard, extracting some tea leaves from them. He carefully put them aside as he turned to face Tismri, leaning against the counter he had crafted. He thought about her question for a moment, before answering. "It is strange, really. Of my whole existance, I have never felt so...at peace with things. Do not mistake me, I have thought long a hard about the crimes and deeds I had committed, but I have come to terms with them - I cannot change them, but can only learn and move forward. I think, that, has caused me to find some manner of peace in my life." He locked his gaze to her. "Your counsel was a major influence on me finding such a thing." He reflected on the last time they had spoken. "I pondered many years on your words; I have not forgotten them. They keep me hopeful that the world is not as chaotic as I believed it to be." He frowned. "I do apologize, Tismri, for the way I used you to escape from the Varden." His eyes were regretful. "It pained me to do so, but I could not live in a life of imprisonment; Locien and I have always been wanderers - we are not like you or Trinn."

Tismri listened as Sidhion explained himself to her, a brief smile growing. She felt truly happy for him, having found peace. She understood his explanation clearly. "I am glad you listened to me," she told him. "I had hoped you might take my words to heart. Your little faith in the Varden stayed your hand long enough to prove your trust justified." She glanced aside for a moment; she'd not missed how he had looked at her earlier. "Nasuada and her people have done well," she said. "I believe them more than capable in handling things on their own now. For now, I feel my part is done in instructing them. Perhaps soon I shall go to where young Eragon is teaching the new generation of Riders and assist him there, but for now...for now I am free to do whatever I please." Her eyes met his again, and she stood and walked closer to him, stopping a few feet away, her expression curious, hopeful, and, hidden deep within, even longing. "What...do you want, Sidhion?" she asked him slowly.

Sidhion nodded. "I am glad as well." He turned to remove the boiling kettle and placed it aside to cool. He turned back to her as she informed him about the Varden and her plans to instruct the new dragon riders. He returned to his previous spot against the counter, his eyes not missing how she stood and walked, cautiously?, he couldn't tell, toward him. He felt his heart stop for a moment as she gazed at him. Her words sounding as if they had hidden meaning. Did she desire to..stay with him before going off? He could only hope for so much. Her expression seemed to spur on the fire that was beginning to burn within his heart. "Tismri..." his voice soft as he dare not turn away from her, "...my desires for peace...have ever remained the same." He alluded to the topic they had once discussed; when she had extracted his confession of love from him. Did she now want the same thing he did? He sensed something in her expression...something that wasn't as buried as before. "My want for it.." He didn't register his body moving toward her, "...has only increased with time." He didn't register his hand reaching out to her cheek. Nor did he register how his face seemed to lean in toward her.

Tismri understood well his desire for peace; it was not the same sort as he had mentioned before. This was something much more. She recalled their conversation, when she had demanded the truth from him. Even then, she had longed for him. But she knew it had been neither the time nor the place. She'd had duties and he needed to work out his bitterness. Now, though...now it seemed neither of them had to deal with such things. They were each free to follow these desires. "I long for the same peace, Sidhion," she whispered to him. She was aware that they were drawing closer together, and her eyes drifted closed as she put her lips to his, her heart racing faster than it had while they had been running.

Sidhion's lips connected with Tismri's with eagerness and happiness. He kissed her gently and slowly, relishing in the sensation of their connection. The tea now forgotten, Sidhion pressed Tismri gently against the counter, as his kiss became more passionate. Did she truly feel the same now or was she just assuming that she did? He resurfaced from his kiss, pulling back slightly. His eyes were unreadable, if a bit hazed. "Tismri...do you...feel the same for me as I do you?" He asked her, trying to figure out her thoughts.

Tismri placed a hand gently on Sidhion's shoulder as they kissed; it was gentle and yet concealed a fiery passion. As they drifted apart, she gazed into his eyes; his expression was unfathomable. She considered his question. "Sidhion," she told him. "For centuries I have always held some measure of love for you. As a friend, how could I feel otherwise? But...ever since your confession...ever since that first time your lips met mine...I have been filled with a longing greater than anything I have ever felt. My selfish desires wanted me to be with you then; my rational mind took dominance, telling me to wait. Patiently...you were too full of bitterness at that point. You were still willing to harm what I swore to protect. Patiently, until now, when you told me that you felt at peace with the world. "I love you, Sidhion. And as more than a friend. I would be willing to drive your enemies away from you, fight your battles, sacrifice my very life for you. Speaking with you, even just being with you, has brought me more peace and joy than I have experienced in all the past sixteen years without you."

Sidhion patiently listened to Tismri's words, knowing that she needed to think before replying and when she did speak, she spoke her thoughts. His eyes softened into an affectionate gaze as she spoke about her feelings for him; how she began to love him as he had loved her since his youth. His heart thrilled at her confession of love, finally feeling healed after years of rejection and bitterness toward the world. He gently caressed her cheek with his finger. "You are very dear to me Tismri. Ever since our time at Vronegard (sp?), I have loved you with all my heart. You have granted me peace, even when I had lost myself in my own pain and bitterness. I will do anything for you; for you give me the strength to. I love you, Tismri." He leaned in to kiss her once more, but now, he held nothing back as he kissed her heatedly.

His confession set Tismri's heart in motion. She knew he loved her, but to hear the actual words come from him brought her joy. For the first time in many years, she allowed her instinct and emotions to guide her action, putting aside rational thought for the moment. Having come to the conclusion she had, there was no need of it for the moment. She had never been this close to another being before, in all her long years. In her youth, she had kissed a few other men, considered them as partners, but only briefly. She knew without a doubt now that Sidhion was who she was meant for, her only true mate. She returned his heated kiss with matching and exceeding fervor as she took fistfuls of his tunic and pushed him back toward the bed, losing herself in the night's passion.

Hours later, Sidhion found himself half propped up against the wooden headboard of his bed. He was snuggled next to Tismri after a very exhausting night. He smiled down at her, brushing his fingers through her hair. He had never thought this would happen. Never thought she would return his affections so. So many centuries had passed and Sidhion had never felt his heart react so lovingly to the woman sharing his bed; he had many lovers before, as he had two children to vouch for it, but never once did he love those women. His heart only yearned and ached for Tismri. She broke the ice around his heart. His tender smile grew and he leaned down to kiss her head, before settingly himself to sleep as well.
Morning came too soon for Sidhion as he disliked the idea of having to leave the bed from his mate. The soft sunlight creeped into his window, shining into the room with a warm glow. The elf cuddled closer to the woman beside him, not wanting to get up, but knowing they must. "Tismri. It's morning." Sidhion whispered into Tismri's ear. "We should rise and have breakfast." His fingers danced along her back as he tried to wake her gently.

Tismri stirred as she felt the sunlight begin to caress her face. She smiled as she heard Sidhion whisper to her, and her emerald eyes opened to gaze at him. Every detail of the night before reverberated in her mind, every sensation, emotion, touch. She knew she would never forget it. She had never realized that she had been missing anything in her life until Sidhion completed it for her. She pulled herself closer to him and smiled. "Yes, and a good morning it is, though I would have had it wait a while before coming," she told him, brushing her lips over his briefly before moving to dress. "And what would you like for breakfast, my love?" The last words that fell from her mouth had a pleasant ring to them, something she had called no one in many years.

Sidhion couldn't help the smile that formed on his features as Tismri called him "love". He got up right after she did and dressed himself with ease. "I will make breakfast, Tismri. You, relax and enjoy yourself. You are suppose to be relieving stress." He told her as he exited the bedroom, giving her a gentle kiss on the lips as he went to prepare their food: an assortment of fruits, tea (that he was suppose to make last night), and bread. "You are welcomed to use the fresh parchment on my desk should you wish to write, or the balcony to meditate." He called out to her from the kitchen.

Tismri smiled as Sidhion insisted on preparing their meal. At his mention of parchment, she turned her attention to the desk, pulling out the paper and a quill. She felt, more than she had in the past decade, the desire to once again write. She brought the supplies out to the balcony he had mentioned, enjoying the cool morning air as she sat and wrote of her experiences over the time, detailing her anxiety and stress and then bringing about her newfound joy. She wrote about her love for Sidhion and how she had come to realize it. She finished by writing about how she knew she should soon go to Bromsland, but not yet. She would wait until all her stress had been relaxed away and she felt she could teach the young ones effectively once again. She finally looked up from her work and breathed in the fresh air, loving how soothing it had felt to put quill to paper once again. She'd written several pages in just that short time, and still felt the desire to write more. Perhaps later, though. For now, waiting for Sidhion to finish making their breakfast, she just gazed at the beauty of the world once again.
