Character's name: Jacob Caldlow
Character's age: 26
Character's attitude: Kind and gentle, in heart, but deadly as well. He dislikes seeing anyone in discomfort, though knows that it is necessary in his duty. Jacob is a soft spoken man, who desires nothing more than to please his twin, Erik. He holds a more kinder view on the world - taking in its simple wonders. He desires to be of use and is grateful toward his brother, Erik - though he knows that he and his family hold no love for him.
Character's Race: Human
Character's appearance: As the identical twin of Erik, Jacob resembles his brother in looks, though he harbors a facial disfigurement on the right side of his face, as such, he wears a mask to hide it. He also wears a cloak to hide his family's embarrassment. His right eye is blue, while his other is brown (like his brother's).
Jacob's face:
Jacob's appearance:
His gear as a bodyguard:
Character's allegiance: Erik Caldlow and the Caldlow family, Neutral overall
Weapons: Jacob is trained in all forms of fighting styles and weapons. He is deadly proficient in magic (a talent his brother lacks), knives, archery, and in the blade. He is a rogue, through and through - learning the act of stealth and discrepancy.
Other Info: He is the elder twin of Erik Caldlow
History: Born into the noble house of Caldlow, Jacob was denied his birthright due to his facial disfigurement. His father desired for him to be cast out, but the family mage took pity on the boy - as well he sensed great magic within him - and convinced his father to have him be raised as Erik's bodyguard. Lord Caldlow agreed, as long as no one else but the immediate family knew of the boy's relations to them.
And so, Jacob was raised by the mage, Amell and taught in the arts of magic, stealth, weaponry, and basic education. Jacob grew to be a deadly simpleton and in time, when the boy matured into the age of 8, was placed in a magical spell that would ensure his loyalty to his brother, Erik.
With his upbringing, Jacob learned compassion and sympathy - the exact opposite of his brother, Erik. As he was considered a monster and a mistake, Erik grew in secrecy and dreamed about the outside world constantly; wondering what it was to be like. Knowing nothing else but of his role and duty, Jacob grew to be naïve of his brother's intentions and character - trusting him explicitly, for he was the only soul (besides Amell) who would speak to him. And so, Jacob continues - to this day - to serve his brother and his demands - an unknown slave to his every whim.
Role Play Sample:
Jacob inwardly cringed as he watched his brother, Erik, push the old man down with his boot. He really wished the beggar hadn't stumbled upon them - it wouldn't have gotten Erik mad. Erik didn't like to be bothered by these people and as such, would always react in violence and anger. Jacob's eyes twitched out of sympathy as he watched Erik press his boot harder onto the old man's neck. He never could understand why his brother didn't help these people; they were suffering, couldn't he see that?
"You filthy rat!" Jacob heard his brother say and before he knew it, Jacob spoke out to quell his brother's anger.
"Please Lord Caldlow. He is not worth your time." Jacob spoke, hiding his masked features with his cowl. "Let the rats deal with him, else you be late for Lady Margaret's dinner party." He tensed, not knowing how Erik would react some times, hence why he mentioned Lady Margaret. Erik disliked being late and improper.
He watched as Erik paused, noting how his brother considered his options. He let a small breath out as Erik released his hand from his sword. "Very well, you are right. Let us go." Erik then released the old man from his weight and marched forth without a second thought. "You are always the sensible one, Jacob. What would I do without you, hmm?" Erik declared in front of him, not noticing Jacob dropping a small bag of coins to the old man.
Jacob easily caught up behind his brother (never beside or ahead, he reminded himself). Jacob let a small, pleased smile appear on his lips at Erik's supposed compliment. "You would be fine without me, Lord Caldlow (never Erik in public), it is I, who am grateful for you."
"Yes, to be sure. You would be like one of those rats, without me." Erik stated with smugness, and Jacob wholeheartedly agreed.
