Your username: Jaxrond (formerly Arwyn)
Character's name: Lucian
Character's age: unknown
Character's attitude: Lucian is a kind, gentle, and charismatic man who is always quick to give a gentle smile or kind word to those around him. He enjoys being around children and is a great teacher, as he is very patient and thorough. Lucian detests battle, though he will fight when needed. While Lucian is not naive, he often gives undeserving people the benefit of the doubt, which sometimes gets him into trouble.
Character's Race: Elf
Character's appearance:
Lucian has long, silver hair that, in recent years, he's taken to pulling into a loose side-tail. His eyes are a dark, piercing grey. His ears are pierced, but he avoids flashy jewelry and prefers simple diamond studs. Like most elves, he is tall and lithe, carrying himself with a supple grace. Lucian is most often seen wearing rather elegant elven made clothes. He prefers clothing that, while elegant, is still easy to move in should he be called upon to fight.
His armor, should the need of usage arise, is made of a strange, green-tinted metal that bears equally strange markings. Lucian claims that the armor was made for him by one of the people groups he encountered on his explorations
Character's allegiance: Dragon Riders
Weapons: Lucian is the wielder of the green Rider sword, Edoc'sil. He is quite proficient in magic. He stores energy in the diamonds in his ears, as an emergency store since they are not large enough to fuel a large scale spell, and in the pommel of his sword.
Other Info: Lucian is full of stories about his adventures and misadventures overseas. His ears were pierced during a tribal ceremony as a rite of passage when he stayed with a certain tribe for an extended period of time.
History:
Lucian was one of the Riders of the original Vroengaurd. Many years before the Fall, he was charged with flying out across the ocean in an attempt to make contact with any people groups who may exist on far shores. He contacted many tribes and a few groups who had even set up a government and such not so different from Alagasia. He and his dragon, Alorah, wandered for decades, exploring and learning.
When at last they returned to Alagasia, they found it in the utter turmoil of war. The Varden were at the peak of their clash with Galbatorix. Lucian, angered when he heard of the mad king's betrayal, sided with them and aided in the eventual downfall of the Empire.
After the war, Lucian took it upon himself to become a teacher at New Doru Arabea. He has been quite successful there, working to train young riders and provide information about proper training techniques.
Upon hearing about the Shade uprising, Lucian himself began training again in order to regain the skills he allowed to falter during the time of peace.
Dragon
Name: Alorah
Age: unknown
Attitude: Alorah is a sweet, fun-loving dragon. She is not as trusting as her Rider, however, and works to counteract his tendency to give the benefit of the doubt to the wrong people. She has been known to be very fierce when children are threatened. She is just as patient a teacher as her Rider, and just as fond of little ones.
Appearance: Alorah is a very large green dragon. She is built more for speed and endured flight than head to head combat, though she has shown proficiency in the latter. It is partially because of her ability to fly for extended periods of time that she and Lucian were chosen for the mission.
Role Play Sample:
Lucian reached up gracefully to brush his hand over Alorah's green scales. His pale lips turned up in an elegant smile. Despite the looming threat, now was a time of peace and happiness. He glanced about to see the students training.
It is wonderful, is it not?
It is indeed, Alorah replied, I missed teaching the hatchlings when we were wandering those strange lands.
Lucian's smile widened.
Yes, as did I.
Alorah bent her head for him to scratch her eye ridge. He obliged, looking at her with the adoration that is felt only in the bond between a dragon and Rider.
You are much happier now than you were when we first returned, she commented.
His eyes grew a little sad.
Of course I am. We returned to war and ruin to find that everything we'd ever known was gone
She nudged him with the tip of her nose.
It is being rebuilt. And we are assisting with that. Do not let the memories of darker days mar your current happiness.
Lucian chuckled.
How wise you are, my dear one.
He rested his head against her snout, completely at peace in the presence of his bondmate.
