((OOC: Well, thanks. Though I definitely did NOT see that coming.))
Elysium blinked at the light. Suddenly a blade connected with her own. Sideon drew his black eyes up and down the her body, intending to upset both she and Lucian. "My, what a pretty thing you are. Had you joined the Shade army, I would have taught you myself." She paused. Orion was furious, but he kept himself in check. Elysium struggled to do the same. She pushed harder and hoped Lucian would do the same. "Guess it's better I didn't join the Shade army. I don't know why a creep like you would be deemed safe enough to teach anyone." Elysium retorted. She smiled slightly and Orion kept lending her strength. She whispered a spell to transfer Sideon's energy into her teacher. She hoped it worked.

Sideon smiled in response to her words. "Safe? Why on earth would they take that into consideration?" His smile widened as she attempted to siphon his energy. It may have worked had he not had his wards up. "You're a hundred years too early for something to elementary to work on me, youngling." The elf twisted in the snakelike fashion he was so famed for, ducking out of the deadlock and leaping from the tree branch. Lucian caught his balance quickly as the force he had been straining against disappeared. "A good try, Elysium." He turned toward where Sideo nhad landed on a new branch and cast out one hand, flicking his slender fingers outward. A quick burst of the ancient language flew from his lips. Sideon's eyes widened as the branch beneath him exploded, sending fragments of wood in every direction. Lucian disliked harming the tree in such a manner, but his foe needed dealt with and he would not risk his students' lives for the sake of a tree. The black haired elf sank his dagger into the trunk to stop his fall and hung there like a grotesque bat.

"Safe? Why on earth would they take that into consideration?" Elysium groaned in her head as Sideon twisted away. "You're a hundred years too early for something to elementary to work on me, youngling." She felt wards under the reaching tendrils of her magic. She withdrew, and heard Lucian congratulate her attempt. Suddenly, the branch beneath Sideon's feet exploded, sending fragments of wood outwards. She twisted away from the shower, and sent Orion a mental message. If you could pull him off the trunk, and keep him captive... Elysium extended her thoughts to Alorah and Lucian. She climbed swiftly down the branches, and stabbed her own knife inches from Sideon's hand. "Good riddance," she muttered, and pulled out the chunk o tree Sideon's blade was lodged in.

Sideon scowled as the girl dislodged his knife. He tensed as he fell, preparing to land in a crouch. Alorah reached up with one massive paw and snatched the assassin out of the air and slamming him into the ground. The force of the blow would have killed a human. As it was, the elf felt a few of his ribs snap. He grimaced before glaring up at the dragon who held him captive. "Well done, Bjartskular." The massive green dragon snarled in response, bearing sharp teeth that were easily half the length of a man. Her tail thrashed, narrowly missing the surrounding trees and causing great thuds when it struck the earth. I should tear you apart here and now! she rumbled. Lucian nimbly scaled down the tree and came to stand before Sideon, kicking the assassin's poisoned dagger away. "Nicely done, Elysium," he said, not taking his eyes off his foe.

Elysium felt herself being slowly torn. She was proud of herself for accomplishing this feat, but terrified that she might see an elf die. An evil one, but an elf nonetheless. "Well done, Elysium." Lucian said, whisking the toxic dagger away from Sideon. Orion swooped down from a tree and planted his claws near where Elysium stood. He will not harm you, little one. She reached up and rubbed his scaly chin. Turning her attention back to the scene, she waited to see how Lucian responded to the less dangerous threat.

Lucian sheathed Edoc'sil and crouched before the dark haired elf. His grey eyes were cold as they met Sideon's black ones. His expression remained as blank as slate. Alorah watched her Rider with one large eye, blinking with a soft snick. The much older elf began to speak, his voice tense.
"I should kill you here and now."
Sideon grinned, making his countenance all the more snakelike.
"But you won't, Lucian-elda," his velvety voice turned the honorific into more of an insult than an indication of respect, "You never have the courage to end me. And you won't let your bondmate do it. Oh no, I'm much too valuable," his smile widened, "You know as well as I that I possess certain information that will further your cause. Aberon has fallen to our forces and all of Surda will soon follow...unless you manage to extract what I know."
Lucian's jaw tightened as he gritted his teeth, his eyes narrowing into slits.
"You speak the truth," he said slowly, "You are too valuable for me to kill as of now," he leaned closer, lowering his voice to a hiss of cold rage as he switched to the Ancient Language, "But know this, snake, when you are no longer useful to us, mine will be the hand to slay you. I will have vengeance for the younglings you slaughtered. Those young dragons and Riders who never saw a single year of the wonders of the bond between them because your dagger ended their lives. My students and allies whom you destroyed. My friends who welcomed me back to Alagasia. For them I will kill you, Sideon of the Empire."
Sideon's smile became as cold and sharp as a blade as he met Lucian's gaze without waver.
"I look forward to the day you try to fulfill that oath, Argetlam."
Lucian stood, his expression melting from the cold anger that made him so alien, back into a peaceful, pleasant one. He looked at Elysium.
"New Doru Arabea is equipped to contain prisoners. We will take him there and work to extract anything he might know about the Shade Army's movements," he paused, "It will be good practice for you, should you wish to assist me in this endeavor."
Alorah rumbled as her talons closed about the assassin, causing a wince to flicker across his sharp features.
I shall carry this one, she said.

"It will be good practice for you, should you wish to assist me in this endeavor." Elysium opened her eyes wide. Orion was raging inside his mind, and was very eager to cause the elf pain. Her head dropped. "I... I would rather not... Lucian-elda." Elysium nodded slightly and sprinted back towards the small village nearby. Then, she realized how much had happened this on day. Se slowed to a stop, swinging agilely into a weeping willow. She could faintly hear Lucian on Alorah's back, and Orion carving loops below them. She closed her eyes, sweeping her long hair behind her shoulders, relishing the peace. Then Elysium listened for conversation.

Lucian watched as his new student darted into the trees and disappeared. After a moment of stillness, he swung onto Alorah's back. The green dragon flared her wings, and, with the concussive sound of air being rent, took off. She gave a mighty roar as her talons clenched all the more tightly about Sideon, causing the elf to wince. He allowed his mind to wander over the surrounding area, checking for any who may have been drawn by their battle. He sensed Elysium in a nearby willow tree. Orion circled below them as Alorah gained altitude. He knew that this was for Sideon's discomfort, since flying whilst being carried in a dragon's claw is most disorienting. Indeed, the assassin's pale complexion did look a little green. Lucian opened his mind to Elysium. When you wish to return to the castle, you will find me here, he transferred a series of impressions and thoughts, directions to his quarters, I shall see to it that you have your own quarters assigned to you, he paused, ...I apologize for any discomfort I caused you in my request.

When you wish to return to the castle, you will find me here. Elysium flipped through the series of directions in pictures. Another mental message from Lucian. I shall see to it that you have your own quarters assigned to you A short pause, then: ...I apologize for any discomfort I caused you in my request. Elysium felt true forgiveness, and sent a message back. I understand that this is a part of training, but I can't bear to hurt a flower. But thank you. She stepped onto the grass and began to jog towards the castle.

Lucian could not help but feel a small flash of irony. Sideon was far from a flower, but he understood what she was saying. Though the assassin was evil, he was still an elf, one of the beautiful race. The silver haired Rider looked down at the castle as Alorah circled above. A few of the wild dragons who had flown in to mingle with their bonded brethren trumpeted greetings to Alorah. She was well favored by them, as she often hunted alongside them. She roared in response, tilting her wings in order to glide down into the open yard before the castle, which had been cleared specifically for dragons to land. She flared her wings as she approached the ground, slowing her descent. Then she landed on her hind legs with a dull boom. After balancing for a brief moment, she dropped onto her free foreleg, holding Sideon in the other claw. Lucian nimbly climbed down from the saddle, using Alorah's foreleg in order to successfully navigate her size. Then he walked around to look at the other elf, who hung in Alorah's talons, arms pinioned to his sides. The assassin glared at Lucian with such malice that Lucian had no doubt in his mind that this man wanted him dead. The Rider called a small group of guards over. Together, they set about relieving Sideon of his weapons, even as he remained captive.

((OOC: I'm thinking this thread is far from over.))
Elysium eventually freed herself from the tender embrace of the willow tree. She leapt to the ground on seemingly padded feet. As she made her way to the castle, she marveled at how much had happened in one day. Elysium noticed the sun climbing down the sky. She felt her eyelids droop and awaited a nice, long sleep.
Orion scanned the area for his hatchling. He felt her mind brush his, so he enveloped her in a mental hug. He turned his attention soon back to the assassin who was being relieved of his small blades. Orion settled down and watched as the elves carried Sideon into the castle.
