Your username: Jaxrond (arwyn)
Character's name: Eladan
Character's age: around 20 maybe 25. Appears to be older.
Character's attitude: Eladan is cruel, twisted, and vile. He enjoys bloodshed and torture. He is also very crafty, devising ways to kill and cause pain in the most horrifying manner possible. When he was a Rider of the Empire, he was often sent away to 'cool his head' since he would reach the point where he would attack subordinate soldiers as well as enemies. In all, Eladan is insane. While his insanity formerly laid in his instability an impulsive madness, his time spent during capture allowed him to sort out his thoughts enough to become controlled in his evildoing. He has always resented his twin sister, who escaped Galbatorix's clutches and joined the Varden. Even now, he longs to see her become as lowly a creature as himself and then die a horrible death.
Character's Race: Elf
Character's appearance:
Eladan inherited his mother's green eyes and light hair. He is very handsome, his pretty face hiding his twisted mind. Eladan is tall and slender. He usually wears his hair down and is normally seen wearing a green tunic and brown breeches. In combat he is seen in regular armor.
Character's allegiance: Shade Uprising
Weapons: Eladan wields a longsword granted to him by Galbatorix. Though it is not his own, as it was stolen from a defeated Rider in the fall, it matches his dragon and is the sword he was trained with. It is a Rider's blade of a dark purple color with a matching gem set into the pommel. Though it once had a name of its own, Eladan changed this to Orrund (literally 'mad void'). He is quite adept in magic and his unpredictable thought process gives him the upper hand in mental combat, however, it also serves as a weakness as it, in his most bloodthirsty and insane moments, serves as almost a severe ADHD, causing him to be easily distracted.
History:
Eladan and his twin sister, Varda, were born to former rider of the Varden, Andril, and her husband, former Imperial Rider, Senor. The birth of the twins did not go unnoticed by Galbatorix. Andril and Senor had chosen to live in a rather secluded area of the Empire, hoping to be forgotten, due to the death of Senor's dragon, Shanith. Their hopes were crushed, however, when the assassin Sideon was sent to claim the children while Andril and her bond, Vanador, were away. Grief stricken by the loss of his dragon, Senor could not stop him, even as powerful as he was. The children were taken to Urubaen where an egg hatched for each of them. The mad king accelerated the growth of both pairs, looking to have them battle-ready quickly. He used memories taken from their parents to make up for their lack of experiances. His head forcefully filled with the memories of battles his father fought, Eladan grew more and more unstable. His sister, whose dragon possessed a more solid mentality than Eladan's Amythest, managed to keep her wits about her. Due to their youth and yet undeveloped personalities, the King could not discover their true names and keep a hold on them. Varda and her dragon escaped Urubaen during a training session, outflying their instructor and managing to make it to a Varden camp. Eladan was left behind. It was from this incident that his hatred of his sister was born.
Eladan was sent into battle against the Varden, fighting other Riders with a brutal bloodlust. More than once, he was sent away into the Spine or desert where the population was sparse in order to calm himself. He was a good soldier, but his madness was a threat to his fellows. Eladan was defeated at the battle of Urubaen by his sister. He was weakened by a previous skirmish with the Ancient Rider, Lucian, when he faced her. Given his drained strength and the rage that clouded his mind during the battle, he was brought down without much damage being done.
Despite all that he had done, and who he was, he was spared because Varda believed that he could change. He was kept imprisoned in Du Weldenvarden, where he was subjected to numerous attempts to 'sort his mind'. Some progress was made, however, it was this progress that made him even more dangerous than before. As his tendency to fly into a bloodthirsty rage was repressed, he was able to formulate plans more clearly. He bacame crafty and manipulative. One day, when Varda visited him, he and his dragon convinced her that they had indeed changed for the better, and would be able to function within society for an extend. Varda, wanting nothing more than to believe this, allowed him out for a flight, she and her own dragon acting as escorts. Eladan waited until they had achieved a high altitude before attacking his unprepared sister and fleeing. After escaping, he joined the Shade Rebellion, seeking revenge against his sister and those who had imprisoned him.
Dragon
Name: Amythest
Age: a little younger than her Rider
Personality: Amythest is as dark and cruel as her Rider. She adores chaos, destruction, and death. She despises Blizzard, Varda's dragon who was hatched from the same clutch as she.
Appearance: Amythest is very large for her age due to the accelerated growth inflicted upon her. Her scales are a deep, or royal, purple and her eyes are violet. She is a very beautiful dragon, but she is malicious enough to scare off any potential mates.
Role Play Sample:
Eladan lay against Amythest's side, his blond hair brilliantly visible against the deep purple of her scales. His green eyes idley watched as a bird flew above them before coming to roost in one of the surrounding trees. The glade was peaceful and quiet aside from Amythest's breathing. Monstrous and chaotic though he was, even Eladan enjoyed peace and quiet from time to time. He allowed his eyes to slip shut, knowing that with he had a certain amount of safety here, so close to one of the battalions of the Shade army.
It's been a long time since we tasted blood, he said to Amythest.
She rumbled in agreement.
Yes. I miss the screams of the men as my fire engulfed them.
Eladan's lips curved in a small smile.
It was rather pleasent.
I suspect we'll hear it again soon enough, she gave a large yawn.
The elf stretched, raising his arms above his head. His bond lay with her neck curved to the side so that her large head lay close to him. She watched him with one violet eye.
Good, he replied, I've been getting stiff.
His dragon gave a toothy smile.
I just can't wait until we face that sleeper and my foolish clutch-mate again.
He reached out, scratching the softer scales around her eye.
It has been a long time...this time...this time we'll definately kill them.
The thought filled both dragon and Rider with a sort of malicious pleasure.
