They've returned, Ian. Castiel's voice rumbled in his Rider's mind. The white dragon shuffled himself before settling to his feet. He had nearly spent an hour trying to convince Ian not to burn down the forest in his searching for Tally and Erath. They had settled in the location to recuperate and refurbish their supplies this morning, hoping to have left by midday. However, when Tally and Erath had not returned, Ian had gone out looking for them. Castiel would have gone as well, but Ian insisted him staying should the duo return. The dragon gave the approaching wanderers, what he hoped, a stern draconic frown. What happened? Castiel asked.
"And why are you hurt?" Ian suddenly appeared beside Castiel with narrowed eyes. He had raced back from the south, where he had gone looking for Tally, the moment Castiel announced their return with all the power he could muster. His hair was mildly disheveled and he was breathing hard, but not laboriously so; his stamina and physique had strengthened since his time with Arucane. Ian's cloak was just settling from the sudden stop, snaking around his black leather armor. Ian folded his arms across his chest, trying to hide the panic he had felt when he discovered Tally and Erath had gone missing. "Why are you been?" He asked, trying his best not to yell at his cousin. "Do you know how worried we've been?" He added in his deceptive monotone voice.

Ian looked so cute when he was disheveled. No wonder why the ladies all fell for him! To her he was just a quirky cousin, even though they weren't truly blood related. She rubbed her hand on her jaw when he asked what had happened. "Well, I decided to try flying with Erath, finally. Everything was fine when I giant horde of ravens swooped by." she said, speaking quickly and gesturing vehemently with her hands. "We followed the birds and found this strange girl, whose name happens to be Raven. We were going to leave her alone but noticed an elf climbing towards her, to kill her. So... we intervened and the elf is dead, but Raven is stuck on the cliff by herself. We came back to get you to help bring her back, because Erath can't carry two people at once yet." Tally looked at Ian hopefully, breathing heavily. She hadn't taken a breath in trying to explain to him what had happened. Her eyes snapped from Ian to Castiel. "Oh, and I think the elf broke my jaw, maybe just a crack, but if you could heal it I would be forever grateful."
Erath sat on his haunches next to Tally, silent. He eyed Castiel, admiring the dragon's scales. He new that compared the the white dragon, he was but a speck of dirt. Almost literally. At times he felt ashamed to only have brown scales. Tally always told him that his brown scales were like amber jewels to her, but he figured she was just lying. Erath! You are the most handsome dragon I know! Stop doubting on such things. Erath grumbled and looked away from Castiel, trying to focus on the problem at hand. At least he had flown with Tally today, and for that he would be happy.

OOC: HAHAHA I love Tally's thoughts of her cousin.
Ian couldn't help the narrowing of his eyes as Tally began her explanation. She had gone oft to try and fly Erath?! He glanced over at the dragon, noting his growing size.
Can you blame her? Them?Castiel asked with amusement. You and I ran off a lot in Bromsland. Eva even scolded you once or twice, Maude even more so since you sometimes disappeared on her.
That's different! We were in a protected area! Tally and Erath are in enemy territory! Ian argued with his bond, trying to remain passive as he struggled to maintain his temper throughout Tally's breathless explanation. In any other circumstance he would have been amused with her rapid speech, but at the moment, he was still trying to get over the fact that she had wandered off AND nearly got killed by a Shade Rider scout! He gave Castiel a pointed look when she mentioned they were attacked by an elf. She only proves my point.
You can't protect them for long, Ian... Castiel lightly warned.
I failed at protecting Glory...I'm not losing another cousin. Ian replied stubbornly.
Then listen to Tally. Castiel snapped back with a huff.
The Rider and dragon's conversation went silent as Tally's tale ended. He was silent after a moment, just staring at Tally and Erath with an exasperated look. They had gotten attacked by a scout, meaning that more were nearby. He would have to get the men on alert while he went and helped Tally and her new found friend. He approached Tally with a slight shake of his head, wondering if this was how their parents felt when they did something stupid. His footfalls were silent as he moved in front of his cousin, his gedwey ignasia pointed gently at her jaw. "You need to be more careful." He gruffed out. "There's a reason why I tell everyone to remain together, Tally. You're lucky that all you have is a cracked jaw." He concentrated on the flow of magic within him; a gentle pull of magic forming in his gut as he thought of the ancient words. "Waise Hiel." He whispered and his hand immediately glowed a bright white shade. He stepped back after the healing and gave her another long exasperated sigh. He was lucky that Tally was use to his mannerism, else the gesture would have appeared quite arrogant and offensive, when in reality, he was just worried about her. "Come on, take me to your friend; we should thank her for her help and then go searching for the remainder of the elf's squad; they may have valuable information and we can't let them know where we're camped." Ian explained as turned to saddle Castiel.
Erath. Castiel's baritone voice spoke as his Rider settled upon him. Take us to this Raven. The dragon commanded, ready to take flight and follow his younger kin to their next destination.

In general Tally ignored her cousins's warning to be more careful in the future. Nothing was ever accomplished by being careful! "I will." She lied, looking at him as innocently as she could. "Thank you, Ian." Skipping forward she gave him a brief tight hug, then twisted around and climbed to her saddle on Erath's back. It was somewhat like mounting a horse, only five times larger, with the added bonus of razor sharp spikes and wings. Tally flexed her jaw, marveling at how it had gone from pain to relief in a matter of seconds. Erath bounded into the sky as she gave her thanks for the existence of magic. However, as the wind battered at her face and clawed at her hair, she grew more lethargic. I've rode Rauthr plenty of times! she told Erath. Why does my stomach flip so when we fly together?
Perhaps because he is larger? And because your mom was with you? He suggested. Tally supposed that must by why, and hunched down in her seat to avoid the wind. ~~~
Within a matter of minutes they were circling over the cliff. Raven was indeed still there to Tally's relief. She had been afraid that the girl might leave, or be attacked yet again. Looking over her shoulder, she caught Ian's eyes and pointed to Raven. Sluicing through the air like a blade, Erath dove and landed on the cliff. He wrapped his tail around his legs and shuffled towards the cave to make room for Castiel. "Raven!" Tally greeted as she dismounted. "I've brought my cousin, Ian, and Castiel, his dragon bond."

Raven sat, stroking the wing of her feathered companion as she waited. She could have easily made her own way down the cliff side, but she didn't relish the thought of running into the dead elf's squad. They likely would have seen her flock earlier and suspect her hand in his death. Although she didn't doubt the capabilities of her birds, she preferred to have as few deaths on her hands as possible. Waiting for Tally to return seemed a more viable option, safer. So she remained, and while she waited, she attempted to teach her raven how to speak. A very special few in her flock were able to say a single word at a time, often just repeating the last one they heard. But occasionally they would choose an oddly specific word to repeat, as if it had some sort of special significance. When she felt a rush of wind above her, Raven stood, replacing her companion from her hand to her shoulder. Tally was not lying, it seemed. There was a second dragon with her, white as the visible sides of the towering mountains. The Rider appeared to be a young man, older than Tally, but still younger than herself. She smiled at Tally's enthusiastic introduction. "So I see," she replied, approaching the girl. The bird on her shoulder cawed, and she looked sidelong at him. It seemed like he was trying to say the word, at least. "Thank you for returning to me, and bringing them with you."

Castiel landed with a resounding thud, cracking the ground beneath him. The white dragon snorted, light flames trickling from his nostrils as he surveyed the area with Ian. Castiel was the first to spot Raven, perched on the cliff as she seemingly awaited them.
There, Ian. Castiel alerted his Rider as he communicated Raven's location.
Thanks Cas. Ian thanked Castiel as he climbed off his friend. As Ian hit the ground, he watched as Tally greeted her new friend before making his way toward him. He glanced around and noticed freshly picked bones on the side. He narrowed is eyes, wondering if that was the scout elf that Tally had mentioned. Cautious and uncertain about this new "friend" of Tally's, he wondered how dangerous this Raven was. Finally, he was reached Raven and Tally.
"Thank you for looking after Tally and Erath." Ian replied as he studied Raven. "Are you injured?" He asked in his aloof tone.

Raven eyed the approaching young man uncertainly. He seemed cautious of her as well, from the way he was watching her. It seemed he was just as hesitant to trust as she was, and she knew it was for good reason. With the war brewing, it was hard to tell who to trust these days. But if the elf who attacked her spoke true, then she knew that the Shade Rider was now her enemy. "I am fine," she stated in reply to his question. The bird on her shoulder ruffled his feathers and cawed, giving his wings a few agitated flaps. Raven stroked his back gently to calm him, murmuring, "They're friends. They won't hurt us." She gazed for a few long moments at the two dragons, appreciating their dangerous, yet elegant beauty. She knew from the years she lived with Elaine that the bond between dragons and their chosen Riders were special things, far more intimate than her relationship with the ravens. Still, she thought she would prefer the company of birds over dragons any day. "It is a pleasure to meet you and Castiel," she told Ian.

Ian tilted his head an acknowledgement. "Aye, and you Raven." He continued to study her for a moment, noting her weapons and the ravens about her; she gave off a warrior aura for sure. His green eyes then scanned the cliff's terrain, and then settled on the dead scout. "Aurcane is camped nearby, if it would suit you, you are welcome to stay in our company, however, I would ask if you could impart any information regarding that elf and his squad; preferably where they are camped." Ian quietly wondered if it was best to send Raven with Castiel and the others back to Aurcane while he scouted the enemy's position or if it was better to return with them to Aurcane and retrieve a small squad before embarking on this quest; either way, he needed to know where the enemy was camped.

Raven pressed her lips together slightly at the invitation. A camp of people would likely notice a visitor. They would certainly notice her sooner than a city would. She hated the thought of being surrounded by people she didn't know with no way of escaping them. Still, there was safety in numbers, especially with the elf's squad likely to trace his death back to her. "Thank you," she said. "I believe I will take you up on your offer." She glanced at the picked remains of her attacker, the occasional raven coming by to lazily nibble another bite off his corpse. Between him and the bear from earlier, her birds were not wanting for food today. "All I know about him is what he said while attacking me. He mentioned that his squad was travelling through the valley. His attention was caught by my birds enjoying a meal." A smirk crossed her face for a moment as she recalled what he'd said. "He didn't like ravens, it seems."
