Gee, I wonder what my favorite Pokémon is...lol
Your username: Jeriah/Tismri
Character's name: Most know her as Luna, but some call her the Many Faced
Character's age: 47
Character's attitude: Luna's attitude changes with her appearance, but her core personality is caring and loyal. Unlike others of her kind, she will often go out of her way to help people in need. Though she will help most anyone she meets, her loyalty grows the more she spends time with people, and over the years she has had very few true companions--only two, in fact.
Character's Race: werecat
Character's appearance:
When Luna was a kitten, a medium brown with a cream tip to her poofy tail and ruff around her neck. When she grew older, she never transformed into a human. Instead, her appearance changed with her mood, or her survival circumstances.
She can still retain her normal kitten form, where she is playful, but prone to lose focus and become easily distracted.
When she is faced with the need to swim, she can become almost fish-like, with fins around her neck and back, and an extended tail. She turns several different shades of blue. She's likely to take this form whenever she is hungry, able to catch fish in ways no other cats can.
When faced with a dragon, or the threat of fire in general, she turns a deep orange color with yellow puffs in various places. Although she is not immune to fire, she is very resistant to it, and can retaliate with it as well. She will often take on this appearance when she becomes angry.
When she is hunting on land, Luna will take on her electric form. Her fur becomes yellow and white, and it is nearly all standing on end. In this form, she is often very calm and focused, and it is difficult to distract her from her purpose.
Similar to her fire form, Luna can also adapt to icy conditions, with her fur turning pale blue and almost crystalline. When like this, she will often walk slowly, lost in her thoughts, although she can focus if a task needs to be done.
When she needs to hide, she can make herself look exactly like a plant, with her tail, ears, and various ends of her fur looking like leaves. She will usually stand perfectly still in this form, not revealing herself until she is sure it is absolutely safe.
During the daytime, her fur may turn a pale purple shade, with glowing eyes and a two-tipped tail. She is often feeling very thoughtful and wise, and magic flows through her most strongly in this form. Any advice she gives when looking like this is best heeded.
During the night, on the other hand, she may appear black with deep red eyes and golden rings around her body. She will become very mischievous and even dangerous. Although she would never purposely cause harm, this is the time when you should trust her least, as she likes to toy with you.
And when she's feeling extremely affectionate with someone she trusts absolutely, she just might turn pink with light blue eyes.
Character's allegiance: Neutral
Weapons: Teeth and claws, and any element her appearance reflects.
Other Info:
History: Luna was born some years ago within the Spine. She was always a playful kitten and had a tendency to wander. After a year, she discovered her shape-shifting ability. Although all werecats have this power, hers was more focus on elements than on human-cat appearances. It took her a number of years to discover all her forms; she discovered each of her elemental appearances first. Her night-form appeared two years after she'd discovered her camouflage, and many years after that she finally discovered her daytime-form.
She was very hesitant at first to trust the humans and elves she met, but over time, a young human girl earned her trust and affection. They spent several years together, and it was with her that she'd revealed her final form, only briefly. Very shortly after that some of Galbatorix's soldiers visited the town where the girl lived, and after a few drinks at the local tavern, accidentally set fire to a building. The fire spread, and soon engulfed the house of Luna's companion. The girl was sleeping when the fire broke out, and despite Luna's attempts to save her, the girl died.
Luna spent several years haunted by the memory, and by how powerless she had been to prevent it. Despite her gifts, she was unable to use them to save her dearest friend...only manage to survive herself as the house smoldered around them. She vowed at that point to do whatever it took to help anyone she came across, though she purposely avoided the men in the armor and red tunics.
When the call went out and Grimmr Halfpaw called their kind to assist the Varden, Luna joined them, eager to stop the men in the red tunics from ever destroying another town from their carelessness again. While there, she came across a young soldier who had been badly wounded turning the siege of Belatona. She'd been in her kitten form when she met him, and the sight of his smile warmed her heart. She approached and nuzzled his leg, and he'd bent down to pet her. Upon contact, she shifted into her daytime form and met his eyes while words unbidden went from her mind to his, bringing him comfort and joy, and allowing him to rest and recover as he needed. Luna stayed by his side from that point on, caring for him as he needed. When he was feverish at night, she would take on her ice form and sleep on a cloth that was draped over his forehead. When he needed entertainment, she would play with him as a kitten, or as her leaf form--an appearance that greatly amused him. By the time they were ready to lay siege on Uru'baen, he had recovered well enough to join the battle, and she remained at his side.
Sadly, he was slain and she was gravely injured by Lord Barst. This failure haunted her just as much as her last one. This was the second human she had allowed herself to trust and love, and they had both met a painful, violent end. Survivor's guilt gripped her and would continue to haunt her for the following years. This time, she vowed to herself that if she ever chose another companion, she would protect them from harm or die trying.
Role Play Sample:
Luna sat gazing at the blue sky, her two-tipped tail curling around her paws. She reflected on the words she'd just had with the old Rider, words that few would ever be able to understand. Indeed, Luna knew she herself would lose much of her understanding when she changed from her current form. This was why Tismri wrote their conversation--wisdom was not something to be horded and forgotten.
The sun was near setting, and the werecat knew she would be unable to retain this appearance much longer. If she didn't change of her own volition, her dark side would come of its own accord the moment the sun sank past the horizon and twilight suffused the air. Before that occurred, Luna shuddered, and after a blink, her fur went from smooth lavender to pointed yellow and white. Tiny sparks swirled around her teeth as she bared them in a small grin.
Enough philosophy for one day, she thought, stalking towards a nearby forest. Now is the time to hunt.
