Character's name: Romulus Kingsley
Character's age: 22

Character's Race: Half Human/Half elf
Character's appearance: He has grayish white hair and his eyes are amber. He is 6'2 and wears black leather and a black cloak. He travels light.
Character's allegiance: Neutral
Weapons: He uses a sword and a bow, though he is versatile in all manners of weaponry. He is also proficient in magic.
Other Info: He is a Ranger/tracker and therefore is in tuned with nature and the animals. His ability in magic allows him to kinda of talk to them; he can just really sense emotions. He is also a young Lord in the Empire Court, but hid away because of the turmoil in the Empire. He just wants to be left alone.
History: Born under the rule of King Galbatorix, Romulus, or Rom grew up as one of the King's nobleman's adopted sons. He was found by one of the Dukes when he was barely born. Taking him as one of his own, the Duke favored him above his other sons. Named after an orphaned royalty, an old legend from a book, Romulus was quick of steady and of honest heart.
Learning at a young age, Rom discovered his ability to use magic and understand the emotions of the animals and plants around him. He told his Father and older brothers of this, and soon found himself to be training as a hunter and tracker, much to the distaste of his brothers. Out of jealousy, their brothers envied the attention that their Father never gave, so they hatched a plan to kill Romulus.
When he was 13, Romulus' brothers tricked him to go out and hunt in the forest, in an area that he was forbidden to go alone. They told him that their Father wanted to have a certain animal that was hard to catch and that he was the only one who could do it. So trying to please his brothers, Rom went out into the forest. When he was inside, the brothers ambushed him and sold him into slavery.
The brothers returned to their father with Romulus' cloak slashed and bloodied, informing him that he was killed by a wild animal. Heartbroken, the Duke mourned his adopted son and died several months later, leaving the eldest son to become the inherited Duke.
While a slave, Romulus learned of the hardships of the people wanted nothing more than to escape into the forest. He was branded with the symbol of a slave of a certain nobleman: Two swords crossed (hehe...sound familiar Trinn? =p). During his time as a slave, he was stationed in the stables and there he was able to teach himself how to adhere to the horses there. When he was 16, he managed to escape with the help of the horses.
Since then, he has only wanted to live in peace within the Spine, enjoying nature and learning to control and increase his abilities. However, when he was 16 he was picked up by some bandits, leaving that dream to an end...for now. Upon deciding what to do with him; some wanted to sell him back to his Master, others wanted to just sell him to anyone, their camp was raided by some Rangers, for the bandits were poachers as well.
Upon discovery the boy and his ability; Romulus asked one of the horses to kick the bandits in the head, the Rangers took him in as their own and trained him with the sword, bow, and magic. With the Rangers he was able to find his destiny.
Now, he wanders alone in the Spine, searching for peace, but knowing that he must return to the Empire, for it is his duty as a Lord to protect his people. He wants to end the slave trade and corruption from inside the Empire, but knows that the Varden's intentions are pure, he is conflicted to join either side.
Role Play Sample:
With his ear to the ground, Romulus had his eyes closed as he listened to the approaching deer. Silently getting to his knees, his hands rubbed the deer track that was on the floor. With careful ease, he sped across the forest, always amazed by his own speed and senses.
Within minutes, he spotted his prey. Taking an arrow out, he placed it on his bow and aimed. The twag of the bow's string echoed in the quiet forest of the Spine as its arrow flew with accuracy towards the deer.
Smiling, Romulus approached the dead deer. He patted its head, apologizing for the facts of life, but grateful to have a meal tonight. Tying the deer's hooves together with some rope, Romulus carried it back to his camp, where he knew he would have a hearty meal.
Upon his approach, he sensed the animals anxiety, indicating that something powerful and dangerous approached. Hiking up his deer to a high spot in a tree. Romulus nimbly climbed up and hid.
Above him he heard a loud piercing cry of a beast. Looking up, he saw a dragon, carrying...eggs? fly towards Uru'bean. Curious, he wondered what was going on.
Several months later:
Inside a pub, Romulus sat by himself as he listened to the gossip and rumors. Months ago, he heard of a dragon bringing forth dragon eggs for both Varden and Empire...and now...the battle continued between them as they both fought for power. Now, Romulus heard that any side could win at any moment....he would soon have to choose which side he would join, knowing that his livihood hung in the balance...and his sacred forests were endangered either way. Which side would he choose to better ensure their future as well as his own agendas? He didn't know...he just wanted to be left alone...but even that...would soon need to end.
