Oooo...that looks pretty good!! Who's the guy in the mask? I don't remember that in the cartoon.

There have been very negative reviews on this movie...there seems to be bad acting, bad directing, and bad story development. Even fans of the show have been ripping the movie to shreds with their reviews. I've seen three fanmade reviews so far; two of them were overly negative and one was a feeble attempt at a positive...I still want to see it, but I think I'll wait until it's in the redbox. >.>

It's such a great show. I knew that a movie would do it no justice...Hm. I'm still going to see it too. For the effects. xD

Yeah, the show is a lot better than the movie. The acting was pretty bad, except for a few characters. But, the action scenes were awesome. The bending was cool and that made up for the bad acting.

I'm a huge fan of the show (and for one, Sokka doesn't find his sword, he creates it while studying under a sword master in I believe the Earth Kingdom), and I went to the midnight showing of the movie. I was so completely unimpressed and disappointed, I find it hard to find anything good about it. The effects were nice, but the bending was inaccurate and inconsistent with the show (Firebenders don't need a flame source to be able to Firebend in the shows; and it doesn't take five minutes for Aang or any other bender to actually bend). The acting was pretty sad, and the plot was only half-attempted. The movie wasn't even 2 hours, and there was soooo much important detail that was left out.
I'll stop there. It was just a HUGE disappointment; they could have done much much better.

Yeah, but remember, Sokka lost his sword during the final battle of the show, if I'm remembering correctly. I eventually watched the movie. Knowing that it wasn't going to be good, it actually turned out better than I expected in my opinion. I think it got better as it went along. I think with the Firebending, the writer just put his own little twist on it, and I actually think it makes more sense. Because with all other kinds of bending, they use the elements around them. If Katara didn't carry around a pouch of water with her all the time, she would be rather useless at times. No knocking the way the show did it or anything, but I'm just saying. The acting wasn't good, but for some of them I think it's more the directors fault than the actors themselves. Like, there was so much potential for Sokka, and they could have done him much better if they loosened him up a little. Aang was...okay, I guess... :/ I wasn't too impressed, really, but I do cut him some slack for it being his first big break. The main actor I was disappointed it was Zhao, and that's mostly do to the fact that he has an idiotic voice. I really did like the end of the movie, though.
Anyone looking forward to the Legend of Korra?

Glad to be our information center. I've been looking forward to it for a while now. I saw a trailer for it, which looks awesome. The city's got a kind of modernized look to it, which I have somewhat mixed feelings about. I'm a little sad that the old gang are all, well...old. Oh well. And Korra being the Avatar means Aang's gone. Very very sad.
