Character's name: Amethyst (Amy for short)
Character's age: 16
Character's attitude: Amy is calm, level-headed, and nice enough to most people. She has the slight, superior type of attitude that most of Du Vrangr Gata have on some level or another. She's kind of a workaholic, always doing something. In her free time, she is an outrageous flirt, even more so than her friend Meera, except she's a bit more picky about who she flirts with. More than looks or attitudes, she is attracted to men in powerful positions or wealth.
Character's Race: human
Character's appearance: Amy has long, platinum blonde hair and very light blue eyes. She wears a revealing purple outfit--shorts and a middriff shirt. She wears fishnets around her elbows and knees. She is always wearing a pair of studded diamond and gold earrings, a testiment of the wealth she grew up in and will inherit someday.
Character's allegiance: Varden, Du Vrangr Gata
Weapons: Amy has an ornately jeweled short sword which she brought from her home, but it was originally more as a family heirloom and for looks than fighting. After she experienced the battle of the Burning Plains, she saw the need to learn how to use it, and well. Not only that, she's been training as often as she can in every kind of weapon she can get her hands on.
Other Info: She's a sorceress, especially talented for her young age. Her parents are extremely wealthy merchents in the Empire. She has a hobby of arranging flowers, which was her mother's trade before she married.
History: Amy was born to a couple of very wealthy merchents in the city of Dras-Leona. She grew up practically thinking and acting like a princess and had everything her way. When she was just four years old, an aunt on her mother's side began teaching her how to summon and control spirits, and after that how to perform magic. It was about the hardest work she ever did, but it was something she enjoyed immensely, because in a way it made her feel even more important to the world.
Some time after she turned fifteen, Amy knew she had a choice before her. Her aunt was one of the king's magicians, and she knew that if she remained where she was, she would eventually be roped into fighting for him. So before that could happen, she ran away from home to Surda, about the same time the Varden moved there. She met the other magic-users there and almost immediately joined Du Vrangr Gata.
At the battle on the Burning Plains, Amy realized just how inexperienced in this whole war she was. She could hold her own against other magicians, but when it came down to fighting, she could only hide behind the Varden soldiers and hope she didn't get attacked. After that, she took training in weapons more seriously, learning how to fight with whatever she could. Between that and studying her magic and making lace for the Varden to sell, she hardly ever has time to relax. Still, whenever a young man of power or money catches her eye, she is certain to find time for flirting.
Role Play Sample:
Amy sat in the dark of her tent, eyes closed as she concentrated on her work. Gently, calmly, she started to summon the spirits, almost like calling out to an old friend. After seeing and hearing what Shades did, she decided that being nice about the summonings would make her less likely to become one herself. People like Aunt Jeshelle were courting disaster with the way they harshly called upon them to come.
The tent suddenly filled with light as a half a dozen glowing, colored balls appeared inside, spinning and swirling around her. Amy felt her hair stand on end, as it always did when the spirits were near. One of them stopped in front of her. She reached out her hand and touched it.
Instantly, she felt pure joy and ecstasy radiating through her, and her face lit up in an enraptured smile. Reaching past the feelings, she attempted to communicate with the spirit. It was always difficult, as their minds were so alien and different from any other sentient beings.
Why have you called us? she managed to interpret it was saying to her.
"I need your help with something," she said, her voice breathless with joy, "Will you help me?"
ACCEPTED!!! Only because Trinn's not gonna be here for a little while. She can look at it when she gets back. lol
