Character's name: Cherilyn Larren
Character's age: 16
Character's attitude: Cherilyn is a friendly enough person, but she has a very competitive streak. Her moods are usually pretty steady. She’s not quick to anger, or jealously, or even trust. She’s very well read, despite her modest upbringings. In fact, she has a thirst for knowledge that she seeks often to sate, usually through books, as her parents can’t afford to send her to a teacher. Her parents expect she will become a seamstress, or healer, something modest, but Cherilyn has hopes of greater things.
Character's Race: Human
Character's appearance:
Character's allegiance: Varden
Weapons: At the moment, not much of a warrior. After being through training, she will adapt a fondness for staves and lances.
Other Info: Has a brother a few years older than her in the Surdan army. If you want to RP the brother, PM me!
History: Born in Lithgow to a modest family, her parents bestowed her the family name Cherilyn, passed down through generations. Her mother was a home maker, while her father was a simple cobbler. Her older brother was her first and best friend, until he enlisted in the Surdan army to aid in the war against the Empire. Cherilyn wasn’t too happy about it, and neither were her parents, but they got along without him, hoping the whole time he would come back to them alive. Throughout her life, Cherilyn was an inquisitive person, and it was clear early on that the simple life her parents led would not keep her satisfied. It’s not that she didn’t respect her parents, but she craved an existence that had more to do with than just shoes and cooking. The opportunity arrived when her brother returned home one day, with the news that a batch of dragon eggs had been found, and that the king was searching for young people to come and try the eggs, in the hopes of future riders. Cherilyn had never thought of herself as a rider before, and doubted any egg would hatch for her, but she went back to Aberon with her brother in the hopes that once there, she could perhaps begin a more learned life.
Role Play Sample: Cherilyn held her breath, hardly daring to believe what her brother spoke of. She was certain he had come back mainly to give her the opportunity of going back to Aberon with him. He was like that, always thoughtful of others. But to test the eggs? She couldn’t see herself in such an honored position. Silence filled the earthen room the family had gathered in, and Cherilyn realized they were waiting for her to say something. “It is no question at all that I wish to accompany you back to Aberon, brother, except when do we leave?” Her brother smirked, as if he had known what her response would be all along. But her parents both protested heavily, not delighted with the idea of their daughter going to such dangerous places as the capital. “My dear, you must think of all aspects of this venture.” Her father said stiffly, grasping her hands. “It is not safe for a young woman in such big cities.” Cherilyn glanced at her brother, and he graciously intervened on her behalf. As he dealt with their parents, Cherilyn glanced out the small window, at the dark night sky. Excitement was raging within her, and she knew she wouldn’t get much sleep that night.
Dragon Name: Cordelia
Age: Hatchling
Color: Dark blue.
Personality: (In the future) Cordelia has a very stoic nature, but also a very wise way of thinking. She’s not much of a fighter, instead more curious about learning, much as her rider, yet, like all dragons, her ferocity in a fight is nothing to discount. She will fight to her death to protect Cherilyn and others she holds dear. She also loves water, and credits herself as one of the best swimmers among dragons. (Cordelia is a Celtic name, it means jewel of the sea, hehe!) She always tries to see both sides of a fight, and is friendly and fair to everyone she encounters.
ACCEPTED!! hehe
