well, people it's been 8 years, and now the main story of our beloved Eragon is drawing to a close. What do you think will happen? After a few months (for spoiler reasons) we will know who was closest!(so don;t be shouting I WAS RIGHT here 5 days after it's release) (even sooner for the fast readers, instead of us who like to milk every work and get lost in a wonderful fantasy world ) MY predictions: Gun/black powder: Context clues from the book (Sourdough bred, spurs for riding horses, the type of armor, ect.) Alagaesia is somewhere between 1200-1319 compared to earth, right on the brink of Black powder era.. SO I think a highly explosive powder will be made (by one of the races) that will help defeat Galbatorix. The green dragon: I think It will be either Roran, Arya or some completely random person, (or one of the minor characters we would never guess) The last two predictions of Angela: Well one of them is self explanatory (he will leave alagaesia forever) (My fan-fic is about that, eragon going off to a far off country to save a dragon egg) BUt I think Him and Saferia will leave in a coffin . To explain; the second prediction "he will live a very long life". Long life back then meant also meant wisdom. The "Older" you where the wiser you where (In some villages the town "Elder" was sometimes only around 25, because he was the smartest and wisest" So eragon could die in book 4. Dragons: I think they're might a rider or two who where thought to be dead, or some wild dragons. Or the Original eragon might come back. Saphira will mate and have an egg (female) so the dragon race in alagaesia is not doomed to interbreeding so much, defects happen. Conspiracy: There is someone (or something) above{controlling} Galbatorix (Like how the US president is a puppet of the corporations)

i think Eragon will leave to find out where the Elves came form...? cause as we know they came from across the sea or the werecats?

I would take my time and savor the book if it wasn't for the fact that I have three days to read it before Skyrim comes. Less than that if I don't get it in the mail on the day it comes out.
I think any explosions in the book will be due to magic. Paolini doesn't seem the sort of guy to bring in things like black powder and other more "modern" stuff like that.
Green dragon: As much as I hate to say it, I believe it will be Arya, because she is the most obvious. I will be rather plesantly surprised if it is not she.
Predictions: I believe Eragon and Saphira are going to fly off elsewhere for a while with every intention of returning. This is due to the hints given in Eragon's Guide to Alagaesia, where he was clearly alive when it was written, and the context of it is either during or after Inheritance.
Dragons: There will be more dragons, eventually, as well as Riders. (Once again, refer to Eragon's Guide to Alagaesia.) However, I believe Paolini has said there are no other Riders in hiding. I could be wrong, but I seem to recall this. Deformities are not as likely to happen in dragons I think. In body structure and the like, they are animals, and animals interbreed all the time.

If it is Arya i think its the obvious thing and ill be disappointed because he kind of set it up by having her kill the last shade. read some where that he portrays her character in such a way she has turned into a 'Mary Sue' ... like the perfect character with no faults even though thats not entirely true i hope its some one random or perhaps a character we already know like Angela... lol nah or Lady Nasuada? Katrina? or Roaran(probably the best choice)? some one from Cavahall?
i guess we will have to wait and see

I have some thoughts on the new rider. I don't think it will be anyone that we're expecting, especially not Arya. I really hope not Arya, at least. But, I think it might be the daughter of the captain from the Eldest. The details of their names evade me, as I don't have my copy of the book on me, but it's in the second, in Narda. Roran basically forces the guy with his large ship to take them across the ocean, and as they're leaving the guy's daughter is watching them from the docks. That image has always stuck out in my mind. I believe her name also started with G... Green.... maybe that's stretching it, but still.
Or, I think it might be the young girl who traveled with the older woman to get Eragon's blessing in the Varden camp. Were they Angela's friends? I can't remember. But those are my thoughts.

maybe Galbatorix secretly knock up ergon's mother right before Brom so Galbatorix is really Eragon's father just kidding. But maybe galborix has a secret son that is the new rider. And there is one , not really prediction but a hope of CP correcting something. I was re-reading Brisinger and it talked about the "shinny silver" armor in the vardin's weapons tent. That is a hollywood myth. the Shinny armor was meant for ceremonies, typical soldier armor was a silver, bluish color (the bluish is from natural bluing of the smithing process) SO I hope that CP corrects that. (If you look up bluing, you will probably find it was just used in firearms, but even in the early-mid medieval (1,000) period the smithing process has some bluing)

It's probably just enchanted armor though, magical, thus the silver.

I also think something will happen in the beor mountains. In Eragon and Brisinger, they both said they are 10 miles high and higher. If you know anything about geology... to make mountains THAT high would take 1,000's of years of MAJOR tectonic plate shifting and volcano eruption. They are not exaggerating (because it's narration, not speech) Plus how do they know they are 10 miles+ in height. at 50,000 feet (10 miles) there is no air, the atmosphere would boil the blood in your body killing you in a minute or so.
SO that is why I think something magical is in the Beors, something hidden.

For the record, my 2 cents of tinfoil-hattery...
Rock of Kuthian, Vault of Souls. Whenever he mentions "The Rock of Kuthian" to anyone they say something along the lines of "I think I've heard of it, I'll look, but it might not be successful." and no one ever gets back to him. I feel this is similar to how people forgot the names of the dragons of the forsworn after their names were banished by the other dragons.
So, my wild speculation is that Kuthian was one of the dragons of the forsworn, his name somehow living on as a place name, and that perhaps souls may refer to Eldunari that he hid away there. Maybe some sizable amount for power or small amount for advice on how to defeat Galbatorix and his hoard of Eldunari.
Figured I probably oughta get the speculation out there before the book is released just in case I happen to be right.
Edit: 8 years is a really long time...

I would take my time with the book and read it to catch all the details...except for the fact that I have to finish it before Friday...because then I'll have an execution to escape from, dragons to slay, guilds to join, and a giant rugged mountain landscape to explore. Oh yeah, and perhaps at some point random city guards to pick a fight with because it's funny.

Let me just randomly predict that: Arya will banish Eragon the next time he tries to make a move on her lol she will use his ancient name and thats why he has to leave..

I would make a prediction here but... since I already finished the book, all I'd be doing is spoiling the book for everyone else :c

I think there will be more Eldunari in the Vault of Souls and also some more dragon eggs. I have a strong feeling Galbatorix wil commit suicide. And Nasuada will be queen of Lagaesia. As far as Eragon, he might even leave Alageasia to teach the new riders and dragons something. Arya I think will be new rider. And i think she will aquire Tamerlain because that is only green sword I know. And maybe Eragon save Shruikan from Galbatorix's clutches.
HOPE NOT A SPOILER
