(OOC: Well, Alorah is pretty funny.)
Orion stopped dead in his tracks. Kill another innocent being? He could beat up Shades and Fanghur, no problem, but another dragon? He'd never thought of it that way before. Well... We should begin, I guess. Before he got all teary and depressed. Dropping to the ground, he opened his wings for balance, set up a ring of fire around himself, and waited to see the green dragon's reaction. He eyed her with curiosity as she landed with a ripple of the earth.
**************
Feeling Lucian drop his walls, she pressed a little harder, but withdrew when he began to speak. "I commend you on your mental prowess," he spoke again in his lyrical voice, "It is impressive for one so young. This foundation will be easy to build upon. Soon, we will have you at the capacity to face enemy Riders who outmatch you in years and experience. Natural talent provides a gateway into great skill." He gracefully dropped into a stance, holding his sword in one hand. "Prepare yourself. We begin again." Elysium groaned inside. Her hand hurt from the collision with Lucian's green sword. She held tight to her thin sword as Lucian assailed her mind even harder. Feeling his mind, she shoved up walls around hers and stuck out a blanket of thought. smothering his mind until it withdrew, she thinned the blanket to a whip and smacked into his mind. Then she attacked him, both physically and mentally. They were entwined in a deadly dance. She slipped under his defenses and sliced a thin cut on his leg. Then leaping back onto her feet, she retreated and shoved harder with her mind.

Alorah nodded once. A good defense. Before I begin, I would like to share a few memories with you. Memories of those I faced in the war whom I know to have joined the Shade. While they may have grown in size and power, their fighting styles will have remained much the same. Selecting the memories she wished to share, Alorah opened her mind slightly, allowing Orion to view them. She focused on one in particular, the crazed dragon and Rider pair, Eladan and his bond, Amythest. They were blood thirsty and powerful to match. Though they were no older than twenty, their growth had been accelerated by the mad king, driving them into insanity. They fought with reckless abandon and delighted in bloodshed. She remembered the horrific carnage they left in their wake. It is pairs like these two that you and your Rider will face. Though I wish it were not so. However, there are also some who will not be so bestial. They are not as dangerous as those who are. With sane opponents, you can guess their tactics and styles, working to counter them. With those who have given into madness...they are unpredictable. I will do my best to prepare you for such battles.
******************
Lucian knew that he could block her mental attacks, but he had over a century of practice behind him. Those she would combat did not. He forced himself to weaken his mental defenses to the level of a much younger Rider, and slowed his movements so as to better train her. He fought as he knew her enemies would fight, withdrawing under the force of her mental attack, following a feint that allowed her to cut the smooth, pale skin of his leg. She darted back before assailing his mind. Knowing that this attack would break the defenses of most her age, he allowed the first layer of his mental wall to slip away. There, in the forefront of his mind, a memory replayed. A memory of Vroengard before the fall, when dragons filled the skies and they were at peace. A much smaller Alorah stood beside him in the memory, watching her brethren fly. Lucian gently pushed Elysium's mind away and raised his walls once more. He looked at his new student for a moment, his unbound silver hair blowing about his handsome face. Then he smiled. "You have seen my dream, Elysium. I want New Doru Arabea to be like that one day. Where dragons and their Riders fill the sky and peace rules over the land."

Pushing, she suddenly saw a scene play in his mind. The young green dragon must be Alorah. Elysium felt Lucian's walls go back up and realized he had been training her as her own enemies would fight. Healing the cut on his leg, she watched him smile, then he commented; "You have seen my dream, Elysium. I want New Doru Arabea to be like that one day. Where dragons and their Riders fill the sky and peace rules over the land." She realized that scene was actually a place before. She couldn't believe life was that peaceful. Even in the Beors soldiers had occasionally attacked them. Amazed by the beautiful picture, she wished he would show it again. Instead, she told him; "I wish that peace too. The simple joy of silence..." She tilted her head up to watch the clouds dance across the huge blue sky. Adjusting her mental wall, she showed Lucian a scene from a few months back. She was sitting next to a crackling fire, feeling its heat ripple off and engulf her. Out of the corner of her eye, she could see a small man, about five feet tall, hobbling around the room admiring tapestries on the walls. She shifted, and the chair creaked. The bonds around her were strong, and she had no Orion at the time. The man was now content to relax in an elaborately carved chair across from her. He spoke in a rough voice, untying the ropes. "Hello there, elf. I can see you're enjoying the flames, eh? Well, sad to say, I have to let you undone. Stay here if you wish, but I bet a powerful lady like you has a castle to return to. I see royalty in you, girl. Now, run along." With that, the flames crackled and the man hobbled out the door. She wriggled out of the loose ropes and stretched, catlike. Taking a slice of bread and a hunk of cheese, she put a few coins on the table and left. "This was a while back, before I met my bond. I was taken in by a man called... Well, he said he had no name, but called himself Lai'Jourte. Strange name, if you ask me. But he was nice... and I had to leave. The poor man... he was wary of me, and tied me up. I could tell he was scared to death. But the way he said royalty... I wondered what he meant by that."
OOC: I'm making this response two posts.

Orion saw a crazed dragon and Rider pair, apparently Eladan and his bond, Amythest. "They were blood thirsty and powerful to match. Though they were no older than twenty, their growth had been accelerated by the mad king, driving them into insanity. They fought with reckless abandon and delighted in bloodshed. It is pairs like these two that you and your Rider will face. Though I wish it were not so. However, there are also some who will not be so bestial. They are not as dangerous as those who are. With sane opponents, you can guess their tactics and styles, working to counter them. With those who have given into madness...they are unpredictable. I will do my best to prepare you for such battles." Alorah finished her short speech, and they flew up to the craggy cliff top. Folding his feathered wings, Orion gazed down at the forest below. He heard the conversation between Elysium and Lucian the elf. He focused back to Alorah and she growled softly at him. He knew he had probably missed something important. Leaping off the cliff and stretching his wings wide, he plunged down towards the forest. As he dived, he told Alorah, I scent a soldier. It smells smoky, like it just dampened flames. What should I do?

(OOC- That's fine. If you don't have a specific soldier in mind, I've got a guy)
Alorah growled at Orion. While checking in with one's Rider was important, he was missing something important. She had scented a soldier nearby. The young dragon gave her a sheepish look before diving from the cliff. A moment later, his mental message reached her. Scope him out, guess what his abilities are. Judge to see if you will need assistance in properly handling him. Do not kill him, she replied. It was uncertain if he was a soldier of the Riders or of the Shade Army. The second option was unlikely. The Rider's alliance with the wild dragons ensured that the dragons worked to protect the academy. No soldier or spy had been successful in coming within ten miles of the castle.

Lucian watched her memory intently, attempting to discover all he could about his new student. He felt his slender brows draw together slightly at her wondering. "I do not know. Occasionally, humans mistake elves for nobility simply because of our beauty, but this did not seem to be the case. It is possible that you truly are the child of a noble of Ellesmera. Though I do not know who your parents would be." He looked her up and down, running through a mental list of faces and names, however, he could not seem to find a match. His eyes lingered on her face, trying to perhaps match its shape to that of a similar face. Then he shook his head. "I cannot see any resemblance...though, I have been living here for the past sixteen years, and do not know as many elves as I used to," he gave her a soft, apologetic smile, hoping that she would not swoon over it like so many of her female classmates seemed to.

(OOC: Go ahead. Shade army, I think. Ground combat training?)
Orion spiraled above the soldier. He observed the weaknesses in its armor, though he could probably roast it in its armor. He heard Alorah tell him not to attack, and slowed down his descent. Landing daintily in the top boughs of a huge tree, he sat and watched the soldier light a fire. Alorah spiraled down next to him. Just as she landed, he noticed a small pattern on the man's armor below. It seemed familiar...
**&%&($)&%&**
Elysium stayed still as Lucian observed her features, and he shook his head. She seemed a bit disappointed for no name, but wasn't too downcast. "So... What next, Lucian-elda?" She addressed him politely, smiling and brushing a wet leaf off the log she sat on. Rising slowly, she noticed an almost shy smile play across his lips. Smiling back, she walked over to the winding creek and summoned a sphere of water. "Catch!" She said, and tossed it at Lucian. Swiftly darting behind the nearest tree, she watched from behind her thick wooden barrier.

(OOC- Yay! I think it'll be Sideon, since he would be sneaky enough to get into the area without being caught until now, XD. Plus, Alorah won't have a problem with toasting him.)
Sideon wrinkled his nose as he lit the fire. Masquerading as a regular, stupid human soldier was irksome. He, an assassin, would never light a fire to warm himself, but if he wished to draw attention to this area, which he would soon be moving from, it was necessary. Fortunately, he was far enough in to stop relying on the heavy armor. He heard two large creatures land in the boughs above him and his lips curled into a smile. He looked up, removing the helmet, upon which he had taken the liberty of engraving the symbol of the Empire along with that of the Shade Rebellion. His long black hair flowed loosely down his back as his eyes sparkled maliciously. "Ah, Alorah-elda," he called in his silky voice, "It has been far too long," his eyes shifted to the other dragon, "And a student of yours? How nice."
Alorah snarled when she realized who it was. Do not kill him, but do not allow him to strike you! Between the two of us, I think we can successfully drag him down and bring him in for questioning, Alorah could not help the small streak of panic in her thoughts. This was a face and scent she had hoped never to encounter again. This former assassin of the Empire had battled Lucian more than once, attempting to bring the two of them down. Seeing that same sly smile caused her stomach to roil with nausea. She was a dragon, an Ancient, but still she feared this elf. He was a threat to her Rider and, now, to her students. He has undoubtedly worked himself into a high position in the Shade's ranks. He will possess valuable information, she said to Orion.
************************
Lucian's eyebrows rose slightly in surprise as he caught the ball of water, habitually sending a bit of energy into it to keep it in its present shape. This showed that she was competent in magic, which was not surprising, considering her elven blood. Indeed, when she had inquired as to what to do next, he had been about to suggest they work on magic. "Very good." His eyes darted away from her hiding place as he picked up a sudden surge of panic and rage from Alorah. It would be best to keep training...that way, if Sideon should escape her clutches and come this way, we'll both be of the mindset to attack immediately. He muttered a short spell under his breath and sent the ball of water winging around the tree that his student had hidden herself behind. He then moved behind a large rock that had undoubtedly fallen from the mountains years earlier. His lips quirked upward. This exercise was really more like a game. He remembered the days of his youth when he and his fellow Riders would form balls of water, earth, and, if they were feeling adventurous, fire, and send them flying at each other. He turned to peek out from behind the rock, physically keeping tabs on his student while mentally keeping an eye on Alorah.

(OOC: I know. Sideon is deadly freaking evil. *shudder shudder*)
Orion snarled, rage rippling off him in rage. He wanted to rip this evil elf to shreds, but Alorah restrained him. He knew she knew this elf, and had history... Suddenly, an image... Lucian's breath was coming in gasps, and Alorah was bound at the far side of a camp. He saw an expertly twirled dagger arc between Lucian's eyes, catching him down and causing blood to flow... Orion snapped back to now. The evil assassin was slyly creeping around the tree. He whipped around and shot a blazing ball of fire down at the ground, but this Sideon was quick. Orion hovered, considering how best to approach. Alorah had told him not to interfere, but he was in battle rage and wanted to kill this evil assassin. He shot to the earth and landed with a thud, snarling at the elf still grinning at him. Ripping up dirt, he charged. Slicing at the elf with his front two claws, he created a towering wall of flames so Sideon couldn't escape. He advanced on the enemy.
**(#@$%$@#)**
Elysium leapt away from the ball of water. Catching it, she froze the center to ice and sent three copies, along with the original, back to the other 'player'. Suddenly, her vision went red and she felt rage, anger, hate and a protective feeling wash over her. Snapping out of her trance, she knew something was wrong with Orion and Alorah. Sprinting out from behind her tree, she quickly tried to contact Lucian with her mind. The dragons are in danger!

(OOC- Bwahahaha! *evil laughter*)
In her rage, Alorah had allowed part of a memory to be leaked from within her mind. A memory from when she and Lucian had first returned to Alagasia, unknowing of the war between the Varden and Galbatorix, unknowing that the Riders were gone. They had flown from the ruins of Vroengard to the mainland, searching for answers. What they had found was an Imperial camp. Unwary, they had landed and hailed the troop. Not half an hour later, Alorah had been brought down by sheer numbers and bound. Taken by surprise, Lucian was unable to put up a fight. They beat him, laughing and mocking until Sideon, their leader had stepped forward. "Ah, how the mighty Riders have fallen," he circled the elven Rider, ignoring Alorah's growls, "You know, I have a kill list of Riders. It really would be the jewel in my crown to add an Ancient to it," he smirked, idly twirling one of his daggers. Sideon kneeled before the beaten Rider, who glared at him coldly. "What a face," the dagger flashed, cutting a small gash between Lucian's eyes, "It looks so much better drenched in red," he said as the blood began to flow from the cut, parting into two separate streams on either side of Lucian's nose. Alorah snarled. Sideon barely spared her a glance. "Don't worry, this one isn't poisoned. After all," he tilted the older elf's face up to get a better look at the cut, "I don't want him dying...yet." Alorah growled. On second thought, leave him to me! Instead of listening, Orion threw himself into the battle, spitting fire at the assassin. Alorah growled, crashing down through the trees with her massive bulk to land close by.
********************
Sideon nimbly dodged the fire blast, dancing out of the way lithely. His lips stretched in a smile as he picked up on the young dragon's battle rage. He ducked under a swipe of his talons. "I take it you know a little something about the history I share with those two. Looking to avenge your teacher for what the pain I caused her through her Rider?" His grin did not fade as the wall of fire sprang up around him. He drew two daggers, poison gleaming on the blades. Then he beckoned. "Come closer. I've only ever killed a dragon by killing the Rider. I'd like to try killing one firsthand." He watched the large green female out of the corner of his eye as she attempted to flank him.
**********************
Lucian nearly staggered as Alorah's rage and bloodlust coursed through him. It was unusual for her to feel such negative emotions, but he supposed she had remembered their first encounter with the snake like elf. He moved quickly from behind the rock, worried that in her anger, she would misjudge her opponent and end up with one of his poisoned daggers stuck in her underbelly. Elysium's mind touched his and he knew that she had most likely picked up on Orion's thoughts. The dragons are in danger! He moved quickly to catch up with her, the balls of water falling to the ground, forgotten. Yes. Even though they are dragons and there are two, this foe is not meant to be taken lightly. He touched her mind, sharing with her a memory. Sideon stood over him, smirking down. His back was to the fire of the camp, causing his front to be cast into shadow. His black eyes glinted with a malicious pleasure as he looked down at the weakened Rider. Lucian blinked furiously, blood trailing into his eyes from a cut directly between his eyebrows. "You know," Sideon said conversationally, "My men often question if elves bleed like humans do," he knelt down to eye level, his fingers twirling the dagger, "Shall we see for ourselves, Lucian Du Vrangr Argetlam?" He raised the dagger between them, the shadows around him seeming to come alive with the evil that he exuded. Lucian glanced at his young student. That is who our bonds face. I have attempted to rid the world of him numerous times, but he refuses to die.

He's evil beyond measure, but he's never killed a dragon?" she asked, picking up on Orion's situation. "We may have hope. But shouldn't we go help?" she continued, suddenly terrified for the dragons. With that, she spun on her heel and dashed towards the brawl. Hoping no one was hurt, she pounded a beat while she ran.
**%^()^%**
Orion snarled in frustration. This elf was quick. Shooting up into the air, he noticed Alorah flanking the assassin. He dove down behind the elf, and was rewarded by making himself a distraction. Slamming his body weight down, he sliced gouges in the earth. Filling them with liquid flame, he proceeded to taunt Sideon towards him.

Lucian darted after her, the spheres of water falling to the ground, forgotten. He kept pace with her as they ran through the trees, passing a brook that chuckled merrily, as though unaware of the deadly battle being fought not far away. The trees around him remained unperturbed at either their passing or the deadly dance between the dragons and elf. The silver haired Rider's graceful movements never faltered, despite the rage coursing into him from Alorah's end of the bond. He allowed her sight to fill part of his mind. Egg-breaker! Murderer! I will rend you with my claws so that the carrion may feast on your corpse! she roared at the elf, taking advantage of Orion's distraction to spring. He felt her frustration when Sideon dodged. Up ahead, he could hear her roar as she swung her tail around to bludgeon her enemy. The dark haired elf leapt aside, laughing. "Really, now, old one, you should be better than this," he admonished, "And your pupil, who is younger, even more so." Alorah took a deep breath and released a torrent of emerald flames. Sideon raised a barrier with magic, blocking the attack, but still wincing at its ferocity. Lucian's vision became his own again as the came upon the scene. His grey eyes narrowed when he saw the dark elf slightly crouched under Alorah's onslaught.

Elysium sprung into view of Sideon, leaping onto Orion's back and helping Alorah to divert the evil elf's attention from the rapidly approaching teacher. Alorah swung mightily at Sideon with her tail, and he dodged simply and laughed it off. "Really, now, old one, you should be better than this," he admonished, "And your pupil, who is younger, even more so." Orion roared in rage and added his energy to Alorah's emerald flames. Lucian had his gray eyes narrowed, and Sideon had a barrier up to block the flames, but still, he winced. Orion swept down towards Sideon, smashing her front claws down a fraction before his back ones. Elysium leapt down onto the shaking earth. She yanked out her sword, weaving towards him in a deadly dance. She called upon her magic and worked a spell in her mind. Risky, but necessary. Protecting herself from his blade with wards, she spun towards him and swung. Hard. Ducking to avoid his whistling blade, she called upon the fire to smother Sideon. Pleased with her handiwork she stepped back, never letting him out of her gaze. Orion was practically made of anger at the assassin, and Elysium channeled this rage into flame walls around herself. She thanked the dragon, and returned her full attention to the battle.

Sideon winced as the dragon flame doubled, pounding on his wards. Quite suddenly, a young woman appeared, attacking him with a blade. The dragons ceased their fire to avoid hitting her. He smiled cruely, flipping a long dagger out to combat her sword. His black hair whipped around him as he danced with her, neither of them able to land a blow on the other. "You're a quick one," he muttered as she ducked under his blade once more. His sharp eyes caught her sudden change in tactics, how she allowed her wards to absorb his attack. He sensed the flow of energy change. Flames rushed toward him. With a sharp smirk, he dodged as quietly as a shadow, escaping up into the boughs of a tree. He was not however, safe. He barely saw the green blade before it clashed with his own dagger, which he had just managed to raise in time. Lucian looked at him across the deadlock with a carefully emotionless face. "You will not harm my bond or my students." Sideon allowed himself to smile. "Are you going to stop me?" Lucian raised his foot to kick him in the stomach with all the speed his race possessed. Sideon nimbly backflipped along the branch to dodge. "Yes, I am," replied Lucian.

((OOC: Sorry if this post is a little shorter than normal. I don't want to powerplay Sideon, and apologies for the short movement. No offense meant.))
Elysium noticed Sideon leap up into the boughs of a tree. She was about to pursue the elf, but Orion murmured calming words in her mind, reassuring her that Lucian was up there and he was fighting the assassin. She tightened the range of her wards and leapt up after Sideon, to see the two elves in a firm lock of blades. Elysium cried out as she saw Sideon's hand stray towards his other toxin-coated blades. She skirted around a leafy barrier and sprung towards Sideon's partially exposed back.

(OOC- that's fine! Battle posts are usually short and as long as he doesn't turn into batman, flare his cape, and fly away [or something like that, LOL] it's fine. You seem to be very good at judging what a character would act like and keeping them in character ^^. BTW, he's about to be a creep.)
Sideon smirked, reaching for another dagger, looking to stab Lucian with his snakelike speed. A cry interrupted him and he snarled. The young Rider had obviously caught the movement. She appeared out of nowhere, driving her blade toward his partially vulnerable back. "Naina!" he barked. A flash of light shown, temporarily blinding Lucian. The distraction allowed Sideon to turn his body so that he held a blade in each hand, blocking both Rider's simultaneously. This move was dangerous, as he was not strong enough to hold them both off. He grinned, despite the way his arms trembled in the effort of holding off the attacks. He drew his black eyes up and down the girl's body, intending to upset both she and Lucian. "My, what a pretty thing you are. Had you joined the Shade army, I would have taught you myself." Alorah snarled from below, even as her Rider's eyes narrowed, angry that she could not risk attacking Lucian with the Riders so closely engaged.
