OOC: What is a lolly and where is its throat anyways? Turreck wandered around the capital city of Uru-Baen. He wasn't usually allowed to do this due to his violent tendencies but today he tried to control himself and relish his freedom. Wandering outside of the city he looked around as he heard a twig snap. There was something near him. Poiwering up his wards he called into the thickets. "Whose there?"

OOC: LOL, good question.
"Easy, shade, I'm on your side." Vana stepped into view, her red cape billowing behind her and dark armor glinting. "I was just making sure you weren't getting into any trouble. The king would be dissapointed if you did." She crossed her arms, watching the shade with impassable eyes. Viel was circling far above, keeping an eye on the scene. Vana always wondered why the king would enlist the aid of a shade, they were evil creatures after all. I suppose, to reach this goal for peace, we must sometimes take aid from those we would rather not. Still, she found it hard to like the shade, even if he was working for the same goal.

OOC: But almost a serious one too...
Turreck eyed the red cape disdainfully angry almost for some one stealing his own dark and malignant theme. Hey, some one's gotta start it he thought. "Some times I wonder." he said.

Catching the odd look on the shade's face, Vana scowled. "Wonder about what, shade. You look as if you've eaten something rotten." Arms still crossed, Vana waited for his response. It was true, she couldn't stand the thing. Just his looks were disturbing.

"Wonder whether or not you're actually on my side." he said. "On our side." he gestured to the city behind him.

That statement infuriated Vana. "I could say the same of you," she said accusingly. "After all, how trustworthy can a shade really be? I mean, your posessed by evil spirits." Vana shook her head in wonder. "Know this, shade, I am second to Murtagh, who is second to the King. Know you may wonder no more." Her impassable eyes watched Turreck, waiting for the shade to react. Perhaps he would try to kill her. Inwardly, Vana smiled. Let him try, then, I would be able to get rid of this discusting creature. The King doesn't need his filthy help. Viel, far in the sky above, voiced her agreement.

"Sounds to me like just another lower left hand follower." Turreck said. "I need no position to do his will, or mine for that matter. He should know that I can walk in peace without killing innocent people... Most of the time."

Although Vana wanted Viel to stay in the sky, the dragon dove down at Turreck's next words. Viel landed with a solid thump, arched her neck and wings, then released a mighty roar. Smoke trailed ominously from her scaly nostrils. Vana placed a hand on one of Viels' neck spikes and prepared to mount. Before she did though, she turned to the shade once more, "You had better watch your tongue, shade, I don't take well to insults, nor does the king." With that having been said, Vana swung herself up, into Viels saddle. The dark red dragon, spread her wings, then with several swift motions was in the sky, headed back to the city.

Lathem watched the scene from a rooftop nearby. He ducked as Vana flew overhead back towards the city. 'We have to be careful to avoid them, little one.' Zamah spoke from the Spine where he was hiding. 'Aye, my dragon. We should.' He jumped from the roof and ran into a lady. "Watch where you're going!" Lathem turned to her. "Sorry, ma'm. It won't 'appen again, my lady." Her surprise let him easily escape the situation and run down the next street. He disappeared into the crowd and was gone in a few moments, back into the Spine.

Taran wandered through the plains surrounding Uru'baen, hunting deer with his small, light bow and magic for skins. If the Queen in Ellesmera found out about his killing, he would be in much trouble. He saw a large buck hidden behind bank of trees as he brought his horse, Narth, to a halt. Taran quickly dismounted and knocked an arrow, aiming for the bucks shoulder, just below the neck. He let the arrow loose, the string twanging with relief from the strain. With a loud thud, the arrow hit its mark, killing the deer almost instantly. He ran over to the corpse, pulling the arrow out and beginning to skin the creature. Not far away, he saw a large red dragon take to the skies. "Another of those stinkin' dragon riders, Narth. They don't know what it's like to live without a pet that could kill anything." Taran continued in his work, separating the skin from the muscles. When he had finally finished, he tied the body to a tree, allowing the fluids to drain, and took the fresh skin to his horse. "Let's head home, now, I want this skin dried and sold before anyone from Ellesmera decides to check on me. And they'll probably want some information on Galbatorix. We'll have to head into the city later, to see what we can gather." "Alright, but we must be careful. Last time was too close. I would rather not join the king's stables." In silence, they rode off away from the city, through the plains.

OOC: This seems like a fun thread. lol
Salian prowled through the streets of Uru'baen, on the lookout for potential employers. Across the cloak on his back was the mercenary assassin sign, and he wore it with wariness. The slave lords in the Uru'baen had paid him well for his most recent bunch, but they didn't have another job for him. So he looked around the capital city, not wanting to return to his southern area yet.
