Jeriah noticed Kalri approach one of the lodges. She felt her stomache tighten at the sight of her, knowing that the time was growing closer. Still, it was not quite time yet. Jeriah stared after Kalri, waiting for an indication that it was time.

Kalri approached Nashante, her anger flaring to dangerous levels but she maintained her control. “Mother.” The words fell hard from her lips. “What did you do to me and why?” Her eyes flashed as she looked at the witch.
Nashante stared back blankly into her daughter’s eyes. “You want the truth?” Kalri nodded. “Very well.” Nashante said as she sat upon the large chair. “You know the story of your conception and birth. What you don’t know, what your father didn’t know was at the time that he took me I carried an ancient force within me. Legion. I freed her so that I could see my plans to fruition. Because your father had me taken by Mar and brought to him, I was unable to complete the ritual to free her. She was trapped within me. After your father implanted his seed within me and you began to grow within my womb, I bound Legion to you before your birth. I sought to spoil you since I could not kill you but I tried. I tried to kill myself and I tried to kill you but Mar was there to stop me at every pass. I was a prisoner and filled with rage. I could not hold Legion within me and out of spite for your father, bound her to you. I could feel your strength and power from within the womb.”
Nashante looked with loathing at the woman standing before her. Kalri fought back the tears that she felt. She knew all that her mother had told her but it still hurt that despite what happened to bring her to be, her mother had no feelings for her whatsoever. Kalri sat down, her head lowering to stare at the ground. “How can I free her?”

Jeriah sat back as voices drifted through the air. She could not hear the words, but could feel the emotions in them. Sadness. Anger. Spite. Hatred. Sorrow. It was all enough to break her heart, within her or not. "What is your story, Kalri?" she asked softly, "What has made you so bittersweet?"
