Diana screamed out in pain, the noise of the battle around her fading as the only thing that occupied her thoughts was her agony. Both her arms were pinned to the ground with black-fletched arrows, and she was unable to move. She saw through hazy eyes Empire soldiers advancing toward her, bloody blades ready to end her life. Let go of the sword, let go of the sword, her mind said, though she instinctively kept her grip on Ilumeo. Let it go and pull out the arrow. If you don't, you die. Painfully, refusing to lose the weapon, she took ahold of the bare blade with her left hand, and was then able to reach for the arrow holding down that arm. She ripped it out and nearly blacked out from the pain. The soldiers were almost upon her. She switched the sword back to her right hand and reached for the other arrow. From out of nowhere, an aqua blur swept past her field of vision, and the advancing soldiers were bathed in fire. With them slowed down, Diana had enough time to take out the other arrow. Serenity landed next to her, and Diana mounted and they were up in the air again in hardly any time at all.
Stefan drilled through the Empire's soldiers, cutting them down left and right. He was glad for all the training Trinn had put him through when he became a Rider, and as twisted as it was, he was also glad for his training with Vana while he was forced to serve Galbatorix. They had tempered him from an average swordsman to a great one. Beside him, Jueru pounced and tore at the men, eliminating dozens of them at once. They worked together in harmony, achieving a level of oneness that they had before never reached. He knew, somewhere, Cherilyn and Cordelia were fighting as well. He hoped above hope that they were all right, neither seriously injured or dead. In a fight like this, fate was not generous about who lived and who died, and it was almost pure luck. He looked above him, alert for any enemy Riders he might encounter in the midst of this fray.
Katriana stood in the center of a large number of Varden soldiers, blocking a strike with her shield before swinging her ebony blade to meet his. She had warned the Empire troops away from her during this battle, and her armor's strange magic released its toxin into the air. Soon the Varden around her were gasping for air, dropping to the ground in convulsions before they were finally still. Kat felt the air clear around her and she lifted her head. Van! she called for her dragon to take her back into the skies.

Pointing down imperiously, Vana ordered soldiers in a booming voice to mind the walls. The Varden were erecting ladders and towers to scale the tall walls. Viel broke from her still hovering as soon as Vana had quit speaking, spiraling up and away from the city, towards the field just outside where the a mass amount of Varden soldiers were still marching towards the imperial city. As Viel began to dive down towards the fleshy mass, she felt claws sink into her shoulders and throw her off path. She twirled through the sky madly for a moment, before she was able to flare her wings and regain balance. She twisted in the air to face her attacker. Stormwing was already charging towards her again, long ivory fangs bared menacingly. Viel snarled savagely at him, and in a moment they were tangled together, biting and slashing with their draconic weapons.
As the two dragons did their best to kill the other, Vana watched the saddle of Eridor. Elaine sat confidently, though her face was a mask of concentration. In a sudden moment of decision, Vana ripped her legs from the saddle straps and leaped into the air. She landed just behind Elaine, who was already twisting around to block Domia's thrust. Vana sneered as her attack was parried, and the grey blade was sweeping towards her side. Vana parried this as well, and had to block again as Elaine nimbly got to her feet and thrust again. Suddenly Eridor shifted, and as Vana felt her balance slipping, she lunged and tackled Elaine, pushing the two of them off the saddle.
The two riders fell side by side, but that did not stop them from exchanging sword strikes. Vana landed a long slash on Elaine's thigh, but she quickly received a cut on her forearm in return. Just before they hit the ground, almost at the same time they muttered spells to prevent the force from killing them. They landed, and Elaine didn't hesitate to lunge again at Vana, continuing their mortal battle.

Vanilor's claws sunk into flesh as he tossed several Varden soldiers away from the castle. Opening his maw, he let loose his newly mastered flames. He roared in triumph as he launched another row of Varden troops aside. He then heard his Rider call for him. I'm coming Kat! The yellow dragon assured and charged through the fields, slashing and smacking warriors aside, not caring which side they were; they were in the way to get to Kat! Finding his Rider, Vanilor sent another powerful flame as he gave opportunity for Kat to get on.
*** "SKOLIR!" Einar yelled out, blocking a volley of arrows that charged down at the Varden. He sneered upward at Uru'baen. They would conquer it and rescue Lady Nasuada! He absently hoped that Eragon and Arya were all right within the dark castle. He trusted that they would do their part to kill the King.
*** Slade sneered out at Serenity as the dragon returned to the sky. Fight me traitor! The black dragon sent out a blast of fire from his dark maw. Selene stared out coldly at Diana, eager to end her life the way that Vana could not. Selene would not be sympathetic.
*** Tristan grunted and teared his sword through flesh as horseman gathered around Trinity. The young dragon had insisted to fight, despite her small size. She was still fairly large, but not big enough for Tristan to ride her yet. But the dragon was stubborn and refused to leave his and Teodora's side. Her glistening armour that she received protected her well enough from the horsemen's spears. Tristan valiently fought back the horsemen as he ordered his troops forward and to hold the line.
*** OOC: I think that's enough people for me now...lol

Teodora felt an arrow scrape across her cheek, drawing a long gash. Warm blood trailed down her neck, but it did not phase her. Not even the pain of the injury deterred Teodora's focus. She stood on the other side of Trinity, defending the golden dragon, but defending herself and Tristan as well. In place of her usual nunchucks, Teodora fought with two long daggers instead. She moved quickly with the weapons, parrying swords, maces, axes, halberds, and other weapons deftly. In her time with the Varden, she had become something of a warrior. Dodging a swinging mace, Teodora side stepped, then impaled the soldier in the ribs with both blades. He grunted and fell, death closing his eyes. ***
Rolling to the left, Gladia avoided a well aimed arrow. Gianna hugged herself close to her bonds neck, to keep from being shaken too much. This was one fight they would not stay out of. The battle for Alagaesia was too crucial to sit idly by for. And besides, she was no longer a tactless girl. Her time training Einar, and then with the Ayati, had gave her combat skills that would prove useful in this battle. Still, she knew better than to fight certain dragon riders. Though she was skilled, those like Vana and Selene were well beyond her skill. Instead, she and Gladia swarmed the empire troops, killing swaths of them with each pass. Gianna grimaced at the task before them. Killing was not her favorite hobby, not even during rescue missions with the tribe. This battle was different though. Sacrifices had to be made. **
Gringolet reared, his front hooves bashing in the skull of an attacking Varden. Junya stared down impassively at the soldiers fallen form, holding her own bloody blade aloft. She heeled her faithful steed forward through the masses, hacking away with her sword while the warhorse kicked out with his heavy hooves. She was distracted for a moment by the falling figures of two riders. Vana had better not get herself killed! ***
Cordelia flared her wings and landed heavily, arrows hampering her flight. In the brief time they had, Cherilyn pulled the arrows out and healed the wounds. There was no more time for that now, though. Empire soldiers swelled around them, hoping to catch them off balance. Cordelia roared and lashed out with her front claws, swiping soldiers in two as they crossed her path. Cherilyn dismounted, tackling one of the soldiers and impaling his chest with her blade. Wrenching the weapon free, she moved to Cordelia's side and viciously attacked any enemy who came near.

OOC: Teodora likes pointy things now! lol You should have her use her crystal flower at some point...that would be funny! lol
Tristan's throat rumbled out a roar that mimicked Trinity's as they slashed through the rank of horsemen that blocked their path to the hidden entrance that Einar had informed them about.
Flashback: "Are you sure that this will work?" Tristan asked Einar, who nodded with certainty. "Aye. I used to use that path when I was a boy. I snuck out a lot to visit the city. Gianna has also used it, so she may be of some use whe you're men try to locate it." "Won't the Empire know that we'll use that path?" "Not if we attack on the other side to distract them." Einar explained his ruse. Tristan nodded. "All right. I guess that's settled then, the main flank will overwhelm the main and side gates, whilst Ismalia takes the secret passage way." "Yes, and when you do, do your best to let down the get that the army may enter." Tristan nodded. It is settled then. I'll let Tenel Ka and Teodora know."
Flashback ends.
They were nearly there! It was just these blasted horsemen and their men were in the way! Tristan grunted as he felt and arrow pierce his leg. Trinity roared in anger and sent a stream of fire toward the archers. Hissing, Tristan pulled the arrow out, instantly feeling the flow of blood. He couldn't worry about it now. They had to hurry so they could get the gate down for the main army. "HOLD THE LINE ISMALIA! LET'S SHOW THESE SCUMS WHAT ISMALIA CAN DO!!!" Tristan yelled out, charging forward at the sound of Trinity's roar. Tristan momentarily glanced to his side, making sure that Teodora was there. He couldn't help but smirk. She looked quite lovely in her dishevelved manner. Tristan, shards! FOCUS! Trinity reprimanded her rider. Tristan grinned at her sheephisly and glanced around for Gianna and Gladia. Einar mentioned that she would be with them...
*** "VANA!" Kyler's voice echoed across the field as he spotted his lover falling in the midst of battle. Worried and now, filled with anger, Kyler decapitated a Varden soldier as he rushed toward Vana's impact zone. Typhon roared in agony with his rider, as he too was worried about Viel. However, they both knew that Viel and Vana could handle themselves, so Typhon went to attack a nearby dragon, making sure that they wouldn't enter the castle, despite the pain of harming those they knew held a righteous cause.
Kyler reached the area where Vana had hit, and was grateful to see her alive as she was attacked by Elaine. He could remember too easily how they had fought before. Giving them room, Kyler began hacking away, creating a large berth for the two female Riders, as well as making sure that if Vana needed assistance, he would dive in to protect her.
*** Einar spotted a dangerous opponent across the battlefield. Stigandr! Make sure the battlion is safe! What are you doing?! Making sure Junya doesn't kill anymore! Einar growled out and brandished Edoc'sil against an Empire soldier, knocking him down. Creating a path of fallen Empire soldiers, Einar made way to Junya. Spotting her on her horse, Einar launched himself into the air, hoping to tackling Junya off her famous steed.

OOC: haha, that would be hilarious!
Vana was aware of everything around her. She had to be, to be the victor. As such, she noticed Kyler's approach. She hoped he stayed away from her duel with Elaine. This was to be a fair fight, and Vana would be victorious! Even as she thought this, she felt a pain in left shoulder, an echo of the more severe pain that Viel suffered under the fangs of Eridor. Spurred on by the dragons battle above, Vana attacked Elaine with renewed zeal. Elaine blocked elegantly, then followed up with an intricate twirl and thrust. It was affective in that it's true purpose was somewhat disguised until the thrust was made. But Vana was not fooled. Parrying, now thrusting, the two riders continued their battle. Neither gave ground nor flagged. The ring of their crossing blades echoed across the battlefield. ***
Gladia swooped down, over the heads of the Ismalians. Gianna looked over her bonds shoulder, and spotted Tristan and Teodora next to the golden Trinity. Tristan! she said, touching the mind of the prince. She did not both trying to touch Teodora's. The woman was as yet still unskilled in projecting her thoughts, and communicating with her would only be useless. Are you ready? Gladia opened her maw and incinerated the last few soldiers left near the secret passage. The amethyst hued dragon landed, and Gianna quickly dismounted before the secret way, gesturing for Tristan and Teodora to come quickly while they had the chance. The door was hidden beneath a climbing wall of ivory, thick with age. To the naked eye, the door was mostly hidden. But to Gianna, it stood out like a blaring sign of salvation. ***
Unprepared for the sudden lunge by Einar, Junya grunted as the air whooshed out of her and she landed heavily on her side. Kicking out, she pushed away from Einar and scrambled to her feet. Gringolet neighed loudly, tossing his head at the sudden loss of his rider. Well trained, he continued to kick out at the Varden around him, though his kicks were a little less well aimed now, and often an empire soldier was in danger from being victim to his hooves. Grimacing now, Junya raised her blade and faced Einar. This would be a tough battle to win. He had the enhanced speed and strength of an elf, as well as that afforded by his bond with a dragon. Not bothering with words, Junya rushed at him, slicing towards his chest.

The sensation of someone's mind brushing against Tristan's brought him to the awareness that he was being contacted, however, friend or foe, he knew not. However, when the presence seemed only to brush and not attack, Tristan slowly lowered his defenses. He soon felt Gianna's voice within his mind. Aye! Gianna! We're just making some more room! Tristan replied with humor as Trinity whipped her tail around, sending soldier flying toward the castle with a gruesome thud. "This way Teodora!" Tristan yelled out for her as he disposed himself of the soldier that had just attacked him. Tired and bloody, Tristan knew that he probably was a mess right now, but the adrenline of war still pulsated him, keeping him active and energetic. He spotted Gianna near the door and followed her, whilst Trinity protected them and made sure no one would follow. Once you're inside, I'm flying in there! Trinity told both him and Teodora. Her voice was ragged, as she was unuse to this largescale battle, but she perservered for the two individuals she loved.
*** Einar rolled with Junya as he toppled to the ground. Somersaulting, he placed himself back up, nearly missing a spear that was aimed at his head. Catching the end of the spear, Einar kindly returned it to its owner with more vigor. He smirked when the soldier gaped down at the spear in his abdomen. Einar didn't have too long to think about his attack when Junya went on the offensive. Blocking the hit toward his chest, Einar swirled his silver sword, intending to make his opponent's sword fly upward.

Kat didn't hesitate to mount Vanilor as soon as he landed. As he staved off others with a wall of flame, she strapped herself into the saddle. She noticed that Viel was in an intense battle with the gray dragon, who seemed almost to have the advantage over her. Vana was fighting the Rider on the ground. Looking elsewhere, Kat saw a female Varden Rider with a sapphire dragon fighting off the Empire. Go there, she instructed Vanilor as she kept her eyes on Cherilyn. If she could eliminate one of the Varden's Riders, that would give them a serious upperhand in this battle. Though it had pained her, she had complied with Galbatorix's order that she join the battlefield. She hated to leave his side, leave him exposed to enemies who would surely come to him. But she had faith that he would prevail. ~~~~~ Diana's eyes met Selene's as Serenity lifted into the sky. The Dragon Slayer was just as controlled and emotionless as Diana remembered. Few Riders had terrified her in the way this woman did. She seemed to kill without a shred of feeling in her heart. Using energy stored in the aquamarine gem of Ilumeo, Diana healed her arms. Serenity faced Slade, calmly and patiently, waiting for the black dragon to strike.

We will be the leaders of the hunt! Vanilor roared out as he roasted some more soldiers. He spotted the dragon that Kat had her eye one. I will crush her! Was all Van said as he crashed a path toward Cordeila, impaling enemies as he went. His mighty tail slammed down onto a small Varden group that was near Cherilyn. Fight me! We are the leaders of the hunt! Vanilor announced to his chosen opponent.
*** Selene stared down Diana, her eyes emmitted a deadly glow. Kill them. Selene commanded as she hefted up her claymore, ready to strike down Diana. With glee. Slade cooed to his Rider and charged viciously at Serenity. You're mine, Varden scum! Slade yelled out his usual motto as he roared at Serenity. His talons extended and his fangs exposed, Slade was ready to make a blood bath.

Gianna led the way into the passage, ducking underneath the ivy. She held up a palm, and there was instantly a ball of flickering purple fire hovering over her open hand. Hearing footsteps behind her, she knew that her group was keeping up. The floor sloped downwards steadily. The passage led underground for the most part, though not for too long. At one point in the trek she heard quite clearly someone swear, out of annoyance. "You had better not get yourself killed, sharded man. Always trying to be the hero. Once we get out of this tunnel try to keep yourself in one piece!" Gianna smirked, recognizing the voice as Teodora's. The two Ismalian's were clearly in love, and it made Gianna ache with anxiety for Einar. Pressing on, she made her way down the familiar dark passage. Finally their path began to rise again, and soon enough Gianna stood before a short ladder. "Ok, follow my lead. As soon as we get out of here, we need to circle back around to attack the soldiers at the main gate, and do our best to get it open." Teodora nodded to her with steely eyes, and Gianna was reassured to have such stalwart companions.
Speeding up the ladder, Gianna opened the trap door and jumped up into the cellar of a brandy dealer. Moving silently on the balls of her feet, she went up another short flight of steps and peered through the doorway. Nobody was in the shop, due to the war. Relieved she wouldn't have to knock out any civilians, Gianna rushed to the front of the store and out the door. The streets were eerily empty. In the distance, the roar of dragons and shouts could be heard, like the echo of a dream. She felt for Gladia's presence, long enough to make sure her dragon was safe, and then quickly closed her mind off again. Waving to her companions, she hustled down the street towards the fray. ***
Cherilyn was distracted briefly by the arrival of a yellow dragon. She felt her heart flop in fear. He seemed a formidable opponent. Beside her, Cordelia snarled in disdain. They both cringed when a troop of Varden soldiers were obliterated underneath his tail. Rising to the challenge, Cherilyn leaped into her dragons saddle and secured her legs. You are nothing, yellow-scales! retorted Cordelia, and as soon as Cherilyn was secure, she bounded forward in a great leap towards Vanilor, talons outstretched. He seemed younger than she, but she and Cherilyn could see how he seemed to thrive in the battle. No matter his age, he would be a tough foe.

Tristan followed Gianna quickly, as time was precious in these moments. As they hurried quietly down the slopey path, Tristan couldn't help but smirk at Teodora's comment. "But, Teodora, how else am I going to get you to admit that you love me?" He let out a small chuckle, but after another moment as they traversed the dark and musty path, he spoke again, "Don't worry, Teodora, I won't doing anything stupid; I plan to be with you for a very long time." He whispered to her, gliding his free fingers across her hand as a gesture of comfort.
As they continued upward, Tristan's heart began to hammer with anticipation. This was it. They were going to bring down the Empire this day. "Lead the way, Rider Gianna; we will follow you until the end!" Tristan voiced before she hurried upward. Taking a quick moment, Tristan turned to Teodora, giving her one of his mischievious grins. "Love you!" He gave her a quick, but passionate kiss before he followed Gianna up the ladder. "Just needed something to remind me not to be stupid." He called down to her with a humorous tone.
Moving with all the stealth he possessed, Tristan followed Gianna into the eerie streets. He refrained a shiver in being in such a dismal place. His sword at the ready, Tristan's adrenaline pumped faster as he anticipated Imperial soldiers, half glad that they didn't have to cut down the civilians here. He only hoped that they could get the gate down in time. He felt Trinity's reassurance once they had emerged from the danky tunnel. Don't do anything stupid. She reminded him in their link as he felt her snap at some soldiers that were trying to spring on her. Following Gianna, Tristan raced through the city, glancing briefly to make sure his lover was near him.
*** Trinity clawed and defended the entrance of the tunnel, making sure that no one would pass. Her golden eye spotted her purple friend as they fought side by side. She unleashed some dangerous flames from her maw, wishing that it was time to be by her Tristan and Teodora's side. Honestly, this plan better work, or she'll kill Tristan and Teodora for leaving her! Trinity roared mightly as she continued her defense.
*** Einar fought against Junya fervently, not giving her any opportunity to overpower him. He would not lose. He momentarily thought of Gianna and prayed that she would be safe as she completed her mission. He dreaded the idea of her having to go back inside Uru'baen, but he knew that her skills had grown immensely, and thus, trusted that she would be safe. Having threatened Tristan to keep her safe also made him feel a bit better. He returned his full concentration upon the battle, as he felt Stigandr take flight, spewing a torrent of flames at the city, to distract the Empire from the three individuals that had just snuck inside the city on the opposite side.
*** I am the leader of the hunt! Vanilor defiantly retorted at the larger dragon as she launched herself at them. He snarled and dashed at Cordelia, his teeth bared with the intent to clamp onto her mighty throat, and talons exposed to slash at her sensitive belly and sides. Get ready, Kat! Van warned his rider as he collided into his opponent.
*** Romulus, donned in armor, dashed toward the battle, thankful to have been able to arrive. He was riding a magnificent war horse, and behind him, he led his small army of Gil'aed horsemen. Rom smirked, having kept his promise to Lady Nasuada. Once he had claimed the justice upon his evil brother, Remus, Rom had quickly put an end to the man's influence over the Kingsley estate, and to those that had sworn fealty to Galbatorix. He mounted up a rebellion and had gained many trustworthy followers. His men followed them into the dangerous battle as he let out a mighty shout: "FOR THE VARDEN AND ISMALIA!!!" He yelled out as he slashed down at some Imperial soldiers. His heart momentarily thought of Tenel Ka, but dissipated as he concentrated on the battle.

Teodora was a bit off balance from Tristan's quick but passionate kiss. Blinking her emotions away, she scrambled up the ladder after him. The two long daggers in her hands, she followed close to the heels of Gianna, her eyes flashing left and right for any signs of motion. Her gaze was directed upwards at the roar of dragons. Her heart fluttered in sudden fear, and it was difficult to push that feeling back. Teodora found that the best way to ignore fear, was to concentrate only on her own duty. In that way, she could, somewhat, ignore the immensity of this battle. The three of them traveled for only a short while, before Gianna came to a halt and motioned for them to be silent. The fray was visible a few houses down, and Teodora watched as soldiers hacked at each other, and magicians set men on fire. Teodora glanced at Gianna when she heard the rider muttering in the dialect called the ancient language. In moments, the rider was nearly invisible. "I need to get that gate open, but there's no way to get to it without being seen. I need the two of you to create a diversion away from it. I'll sneak up and open it when I have the opportunity. I hate to put you in danger like that, but it's our only option." Gianna reported, her voice eery coming from an invisible mouth. ***
Cordelia gave a slight whimper when she felt talons scratch the flesh of her stomach. She recoiled from Vanilor, then launched into the sky, where they could maneuver much better, and much deadlier. Cherilyn turned in the saddle and cast a spell down at Kat and Vanilor, a flash of blue light spinning toward them to break bones. ***
A bead of sweat rolled down Junya's forehead. For the first time in a while, she felt afraid. She was no match for a dragon rider, and certainly not one of Einar's skills. Doing her best, she defended against his attack, arm growing numb from the blows. The smart thing to do would be surrender, but she was much too proud for that. A fierce war cry tore from her throat as she suddenly let herself fall to the ground, then thrust upwards with her blade at Einar's abdomen.

The mail under Tristan's armor rustled briefly as he came to a halt before Gianna. His stomach fluttered as he watched a magician burn his victims. A sense of anger flooded into him and he almost bolted into an attack if not for Trinity and Teodora's constant reminder to keep his head cool. He concentrated on Gianna's words, trying to focus himself into a calm mind, a task that had improved much since the time he took over for Tenel Ka during her memory loss. He watched with silent fascination as Gianna uttered the Ancient tongue that made her become invisible.
Since becoming a Rider, Tristan had begun their rigorous training and learned a bit of the Ancient Language. He recognized only a few terms that Gianna used. He hoped one day he could become proficient as she. He nodded to the last spot he had seen her, confirming his obedience to her plan. With her invisible, it would definitely be harder to watch her back, a fact that he knew would bug Einar if he was around. He absently recalled Einar's threat to protect Gianna and his unborn child. Tristan did his best to not cringe at the recollection of Einar's tone - it meant business.
He instantly recalled Einar's following words should Gianna plan anything reckless. "Do not worry about us, Gianna. We'll get you the moment you need. However, Einar told me to inform you, should you do anything...well, without us, he said, "You better come back to me or I'll personally ransack the place until I bring you back." Are his words. He was pretty adamant that he and Stigandr would tear their ways in here...but enough of that, back on task. We'll plan a rather, uh, extraordinary performance....right Trinity?"
Tristan angled his head upward, having felt Trinity flying over to their location. The golden dragon let out a mighty roar. "Come on, Teodora! Let's show these men why they shouldn't have annoyed you with their existence." He smirked and winked at her as Trinity caused some of them to notice their presence. "Go now, Gianna. We'll handle these men." He bolted without another word as Trinity began roaring and crashing the houses that were away from the main gate that Gianna would have to open.
"HEY! YOU IDIOTS! ARE YOUR BRAINS TOO TINY FOR YOUR MASSIVE HEAD OR IS YOUR MASSIVE HEAD TO BIG FOR YOUR TEENY TINY BRAINS!??!!" Tristan insulted them with a laugh as he began to maneuver their attention away from the gates and toward a path that would subtlety lead them away.
*** Kat! Vanilor informed his Rider as he bolted upward after Cordelia, annoyed that she was escaping him. He sent an alarming feeling to his Rider, alerting her of the magic that was coming at them. Now was a good time to use her magic skills, the thought had drifted across his mind as he did his best to maneuver and evade the threats that were sent at him.
*** A temporary moment of triumph echoed in Einar's mind as Junya let out a cry as she fell to the ground. However, as his instincts and training had taught him - the battle was far from over until his opponent was no longer breathing. He gracefully dodged the perfect attack near his abdomen. If not for his own speed advancement from his bond with Stigandr, Einar knew that his stomach would have had an open gap in it now. He angled his torso away from the ringing blade quickly and side stepped, directing Edoc'sil in a diagonal swipe toward Junya's lunging arm.
*** Romulus was in a thick battle, his helmet shining against the scorching flames that escaped from dragons' maws. He parried a blow toward his horse and retaliated with a lithe swipe to an Imperial soldier's head. Through the chaos of battle, Rom was vaguely aware of a Rider who had come to help their attack. He gave a quick nod as a confirmation, glad that it was a Varden Rider that had arrived. He was not looking forward to battling an Empire Rider. Romulus and his horsemen continued to move through the mass carnage of blood as they hurried their way to aid the main troops of both Ismalia and Varden.
