Character's name: Nashante
Character's age: 40’s
Character's attitude: She is consumed with desire to remain in control of the Seithrs Coven of assassins. She positioned them to be of great service to King Galbatorix, who’s favor she seeks. Through her allegiance with Galbatorix, she enjoys certain freedoms and loyalty from the others in the coven because of their fear of him. She is cold, merciless, and uses her femininity to her advantage. Other than Galbatorix, she, like most seithrs, has little use or regard for men besides that of increasing their numbers. They are simply a tool to further her own agenda.
Character's Race: Human/Seithr
Character's appearance: She is beautiful, slim build, fair skin, waist length black hair and deep blue eyes. She wears long, flowing gowns and as with most of the coven assassins, is enchantingly beautiful making it easier to get close to their victims but has violent tendencies.
Character's allegiance: (Empire, Varden, Neutral). She is aligned with the Empire
Weapons: Nashante is skilled with all manner of weapons and combat. She is a user of seithr magic but her greatest weapon is her femininity, which allows her to maneuver in most situations to her advantage.
History: Nashante sought favor of Galbatorix when she was 21. She aligned herself with him to gain control of the coven and was attracted to the power that he wielded. Using her desires to his advantage, Galbatorix forced her to give him an heir. She had her own agenda at the time and did not want to put off her plans to accomodate him. Enraged by her objection, he took her by force. Nine months later, she bore him a daughter. After Kalri's birth, Nashante was allowed to return to the coven to pursue her agenda. Her twin sister, Shi’nil was to take over as High Priestess but was in Nashante’s eyes, too weak to effectively lead them. She sought that power for herself. When Shi’nil fell in love with Baeldre, an elven warrior, Nashante was outraged. Seithrs did not take life long mates. Shi’nil was cast from the coven. Shi’nil and Baeldre sought refuge in Ellesmeara but Shi’nil being of the assassins coven, could not find favor with the elves and so they set up home in the Spine. They lived in their home nearly a year before they were blessed with the birth of two girls, twins. While on dreamquest, Nashante had a vision of twins. One of light and justice, the other who, raised in darkness would one day find a love so great as to lighten her soul. Through her bond with her lover, who would place a mark of his strength and commitment upon her, she would find her way into the light. Each child would be great separately but together they would bring peace to Alagesia through strength of sun and moon. Nashante told no one of her dreamvision save Galbatorix who charged her with getting the twins and raising them in his service. If he had them, he could strengthen his hold over Alagaesia. Nashante, using the coven, went to the home of Baeldre and Shi’nil. On the night of the twins birth, they attacked. Shi’nil was slain but not before she saw Baeldre escape with one of the girls. He made way through the forest of the Spine but there were too many assassins following. He managed to hide the green eyed child along the trail to Ceunon. Doubling back to lead the assassins away from the child, he sacrificed himself to keep her safe. Nashante took the violet eyed babe and raised her as her own, lying to her about her parentage. She told Galbatorix of loosing one of the girls and though deeply enraged, he did show her mercy for procuring the other.
Role Play Sample:
Shi’nil breathed heavy as the pains of labor came upon her in quickened waves. Baeldre at her side assisting her with the birth. Though her pain was great, her love for Baeldre only strengthened her. The two girls entered the world together, the white haired violet-eyed girl came first. Lovingly, he lifted her up to her mother to hold close. Then came the green-eyed girl with the white hair. Wrapping her gently he cradled her in his arms. Looking at Shi’nil, his love for her burning strongly in his violet eyes, he smiled. “My love, you have truly blessed me on this heavenly night.” Looking back at him, the deep green of her eyes said all that she could not bring to breath. They sat, holding each other, babes in their arms and gazed lovingly at the daughters their love had brought to them.
Nashante and the others gathered outside of the home. Stealthily, they crept around the home then converged on it. Nashante magically tore the door and tossed it easily into the night. Shi’nil yelled for Baeldre to take the child he held and flee. “Save her and yourself.” She spoke no more as Nashante’s blade pierced her heart. Taking the violet-eyed girl from her dead mother, her sister, she yelled to the others “Do not let him escape!” Baeldre, sword in one hand and babe in the other, fought his way out of the house to the forest. Running with elven speed he managed to get away from his attackers long enough to hide the child from them. Holding the babe to him, he tenderly kissed her forehead bestowing on her all of his hopes and dreams, doubling back to keep her hidden, he faced the coven and though fighting valiantly, he fell to them.
Nashante reported back to Galbatorix who was furious that she had lost one of the girls. He did take mercy on her for bringing the other into his service. “Raise her in the ways of the coven so that she may be of service to me.” Bowing her head to him she did as he asked. Aethelwyne was raised in the ways of the coven and the assassin, believing that the coven had found her and taken her in as their own. She proved to be the coven’s best agent. The other child was lost to the fates.
