The smile that had appeared on Romulus' face when he had found Tenel Ka faltered. "Tenel Ka? It's me. Romulus." He looked at her, a mixture of grief and panic. They stared at each other for a moment and Rom could see no recognition in her eyes. "Tenel Ka...do you not remember me?" He glanced away from her gaze, fearful of what this meant. Where was Tristan and Teodora? "Tenel Ka...what do you remember?" He forced himself to look at her, ignoring the ache in his heart as she stepped back from him. What had happened? Rom was never an avid believer of any of the Gods that were worshipped across of Alagaesia, but in this moment, he prayed to all of them that Tenel Ka was fine...that she didn't forget anything...that she didn't forget him.
*** He has found her. Trinity communicated to Tristan and Caedus, having spotted Rom and Tenal Ka near a brook.
"He's found her!" Tristan exclaimed with evident relief in his voice.

She tilted her head to the side as he continued speaking to her. Well, it was obvious he knew who she was, although she had no recollection of him whatsoever. "Tenel Ka..." she said. The unfamiliar words rolled off her tounge. "Is that my name?" she asked. She tried again to remember anything, but all that came to mind were the same three images that had come to her when she awoke. She shook her head. "I-I...I don't know anything," she said. "Who am I?"

Viel gave an odd whine as Stigandr took off. Part of her wanted to follow after him, though another, stronger part wanted to chase after him to attack. It was like watching prize prey waltz easily away.
Guilt struck Vana. She no longer paid attention to Einar or Stigandr's dwindling forms. She was caught up by Kyler's pleas of affection. There was no doubt he was sincere, but Vana recoiled at the thought of handing him in to Galbatorix as a prisoner. "And do you think I would willingly cause you harm? I- I love you Kyler, no matter what side you have chosen. And though perhaps I myself am a traitor for it, I would never bring you in as a prisoner. That's why you and I must part here." Vana's voice caught, and tears finally began to glisten in her eyes. "As much as it pains me, I cannot have a Varden sympathizer near Galbatorix nor any of the Empire leaders. It's too dangerous for you, and it would be too hard for me to ignore. I should have known that relationships in war time were reckless for those such as us." Her voice had turned hard, but it softened again quickly. "I don't regret it though. Perhaps we will meet again once the war is over..." Vana fell silent, finding no more words. And yet she couldn't tell Viel to take flight yet. It was bitter torture to know that this may be the last time she would be speaking to Kyler on peaceable terms. ***
Teodora eagerly took the reigns of the horse Tristan handed her, and mounted awkwardly. Everyone knew how to ride horses, and so did she, but it was a mode of transportation that she used infrequently. When she was sure she was safely in the saddle, Teodora heeled her mount after Tristan's. Romulus was somehow already out of sight, and she frowned at his speed. They rode for a painfully long time, but finally there was good news. "Where!?" she asked Tristan frantically.

"Why do you insist on taking the painful route." He raised a disapproving brow at Vana, tired of her words about parting from one another. It looked like he needed to be more assertive. Kyler exhaled with a smirk. "Vana, why must it always be black and white for you?" His smirk turned into a soft, loving, smile. "And you still have yet to understand my situation with the Varden." He gazed up at her, a knowing look in his eyes. "The only reason that I cooperated with them, and may I state that it was just once, was to get rid of Sidhion. Since then, I have not given any information that would deteriment my standings with you or the King. My only sympathy is toward their dream for peace. Can you fault me for that?" He grew tired of just gazing up at her.
He quickly muttered a spell, grateful that since his bond with Typhon he has been able to use magic with more ease. He launched himself into the air, gripped one of Viel's spikes, so that he was now facing Vana. "Excuse me, Viel." He quickly apologized to the red dragon, "but it seems I need to knock some sense into my lover." He turned back to face Vana. "It is not reckless to love someone during times of trial and hardship; it keeps us sane if anything. Shur'tugal, I am willing to do anything for you if it means that I can stay by your side. If you want me to fight against the Varden with all my might, I will." He drew his hand forward, motioning to place it on her cheek, "I will go to hell and back again if that is what you wanted. My loyalty and my place is by your side. And the only reason that I brought Einar here was to open your eyes to new possibilities of peace and happiness. So, stop be stubborn and quit trying to push me away, because either way, prisoner or not, I am not leaving you." He paused and a more soft and loving expression fell upon his face. "I am tired of convincing you with words, Vana." His expression grew more intimate, "if you are willing, let me convince you...another way..." His voice grew into a whisper as he slowly leaned in to kiss her.
*** "To the east!" Tristan exclaimed, receiving an image of Tenal Ka and Rom from Trinity. "Their at a brook. I recognize it; Tenel Ka takes walks near there." He slapped his reigns onto the rear of the horse, spurring it forward. Even though he was glad Tenel Ka was safe, Tristan was annoyed with his cousin for making them worry so, especially Caedus. That dragon was probably going crazy...which made him wonder why he was shut out from her mind.
*** Rom's fear grew as Tenel Ka didn't seem to remember her own name. "Yes," his voice quivered slightly, "that is your name." He watched as she seemed more confused. "Oh, Tenel Ka..." Romulus motioned toward her, slowly, as not to frighten her. "I promise we'll get your memory back...Tristan and Teodora are on their way soon...they're your friends. Just stay with me and I'll take you back to where you're staying; they'll help you remember..." He held out a hand for her. "You can trust me. I would never harm you." He encouraged her to take his hand, all the while hoping that Tristan and Teodora would hurry. He sensed Trinity's presence high above them, and knew that the dragon alerted her bond by now.

She stepped back a couple of times as Romulus moved towards her. His voice was soft and almost pleading. It seemed her loss of memory affected him more than it did her. Tristan and Teodora...those names were just as strange to her as this man and the name he had given her. She stared at his hand, which he held out to her. Could she trust him? She didn't know. But she finally reached out and took his hand. "I have nowhere else to turn," she said. "I trust you...Romulus."

Romulus withheld from making a pained face as Tenel Ka retreated from him. She really didn't know who he was anymore. His hopes weren't terribly crushed when she took his hand. He gave her a comforting smile as he held her hand gently, but securely.
It was then, Rom's ears picked up horses. Turning around, he spotted Tristan and Teodora. "TENEL KA!!!" Tristan yelled out. "THERE YOU ARE COUSIN! YOU NEARLY GAVE ME A HEART ATTACK!" He continued to scream out as his horse stopped in from of them. "Tristan, please, don't yell...there's something you need to know..." "Like why are you holding my cousin's hand?" He arched his eyebrow. He wondered if this was some ploy of Tenel Ka's to get Rom alone with her. She could be a devious prankster when she wanted to be. "What? No..I...she's..." Rom began to stammer. Tristan froze, seeing the confusion in his cousin's eyes. "Tenel Ka? What happened?" His voice was calmer, more concerned. He glanced back at Teodora, wondering if she noticed the small difference in the Queen Mother as he did. They had been together for what seemed like years now, and never once did Tenel Ka display such...confusion...or...unrecognition. "She's lost her memory, Tristan. She doesn't remember anything." Romulus explained, his voice low and sad. Tristan blinked. What did he just say? He turned to look at Teodora, fear embedded in his eyes.

She finally ventured to give Romulus a small, hopeful smile. He seemed so sincere and so concerned about her. She felt that perhaps he would be able to help her remember who she was. Her fragile calm was shattered by the sound of someone screaming. It so took her by surprise that she let go of Rom's hand and ran backwards a few feet. This newcomer seemed to be a raving lunatic, though after a moment he seemed to calm down. She looked to Rom for guidance. "Who is this man?" she asked. "Do I know him from somewhere? And why was he screaming at me? Is he a madman?"

Teodora reigned in her steed as soon as she drew close to Tenal Ka. She dismounted clumsily, her knees almost giving out as she landed. Stumbling, she reached Tristan's side, glad that he was the one shouting so she didn't have to. Though she still felt like yelling anyways. It soon became clear, though, that shouting would do nothing. There was something terrifyingly wrong with their Queen. Tenal Ka didn't remember them!? Teodora returned Tristan's gaze with one of her own, showing the shock she felt. How could the Ismalian's function with a Queen who remembered nothing? How could they get her memory back? And WHO had done this!? "Get away from her!" She growled at Rom, marching past him. "Two unruly men pressing in around her isn't going to help anything!" Smoothing the anger from her features, Teodora smiled calmly at Tenal Ka. "I am Teodora, Tenal Ka. The other man is Tristan, your cousin." She put a hand on her queen's shoulders, partly as an act of friendliness, and partly to keep the Queen from bolting. "You are the Queen Mother of a country called Ismalia. Do you remember Ismalia?" ***
A shimmer of hope returned to Vana as Kyler continued to reason with her. It was hard for her to accept that his involvement with the Varden was over, now that Sidhion was no longer a threat. Those rebels had a way of sinking their claws in and not letting go. Yet she could not deny the honesty that Kyler displayed. She knew him well enough now to know he was not lying. She was forced to look at him when he was suddenly by her side. Viel growled softly, though she did not act out. Vana's heart beat fiercely as Kyler proclaimed his love. It now seemed foolish of her to have ever thought of parting with him. That his devotion was solely to her made her feel slightly lightheaded. The only other loyalty that she could claim was that of Viels. Finally she met Kyler's gaze, studying his eyes. Perhaps this one secret, she would keep from Galbatorix... Sighing in sweet resignation, her eyes closed as she leaned in to close the remaining distance between them. Her lips met Kyler's hungrily, wordlessly letting him know her decision.

Romulus wanted to growl out at Tristan for frightening Tenel Ka. "Tenel Ka, its okay." He assured her just as he was pushed aside by Teodora. Romulus especially didn't appreciate Teodora's demand to get away from Tenel Ka. "And you're blunt tactics won't be unnerving?" He retorted, annoyed at the woman's agressiveness. This situtation required subtely and tenderness, or else Tenel Ka wouldn't trust them to help her.
"Tenel Ka, do you really not remember us?" Tristan hopped off his saddle, a concerned look in his eyes as he did his best to calm down.
Romulus withheld a groan. "Teodora! Explain things to her in steps! She doesn't need that large of a load!" He exclaimed to her, irritated at the woman's forthrightness. "Right now, we need to get you home." He returned his gaze to Tenel Ka. "Its best to talk in private, just in case whoever did this to you is still around. You can trust me." Rom held out his hand to Tenel Ka, reassuring her again so that she would remain calm. He didn't want her to become frantic and run off on them.
"Tenel Ka....do you know who Caedus is?" Tristan asked, seemingly calmer than the other two around him. This was one subject they could not avoid. Caedus would want to see Tenel Ka immediately, and if his cousin didn't even know who he was, she would seriously die of fright when he did appear. Trinity, see if Caedus can sense Tenel Ka, if not, please, explain to him about her situation and make him promise not to ask rashly or appear until after we tell her about him. Trinity gave an affirmative mental nod as she went to Caedus, whom she spotted not to far from her.
Master Caedus! Trinity flew to him, having called him Master since he tutored her on how to fly. They found Tenel Ka...but something is wrong. She does not know who she is. Can you feel her now? Tristan says not to approach yet, else we might frighten her. Trinity informed the large dragon as delicately as she could, hoping that reason would be heeded with him.
*** Kyler cupped Vana's cheek as they continued to kiss, grateful that she relented in her argument. After several moments, he finally parted from her, resting his forehead against her's. "Let's go home." He told her, caressing her cheek.
Typhon approached Viel quietly, his head low, in a submissive position. Are you still angry with me? He asked her quietly, his eyes not meeting hers. I am sorry for this deceit. We only wanted to make things right.

She looked between the three of them, who all seemed to be arguing on the best way to tell her who she was. The woman mentioned a country called Ismalia...and she was a queen? How could that be? And the one called Tristan asked her about someone called Caedus. The name was just as unfamiliar in her mind as all the others. She backed away from them all again, trying to get space to breathe and think. She shook her head; nothing they were saying made any sense to her. "I do not remember anything," she said. "Ismalia, Caedus, Tenel Ka...Are you certain that is who I am? Why do I not remember?"
Caedus whipped around when Trinity called to him. They had found Princess! She was all right! He growled when the younger dragon warned him to not approach. She didn't remember anything? What could have happened? He reached out with his mind to where Rom, Tristan, and Teodora had gathered. I think I sense her... he said, his voice whining. But, it's as if it is not her. Her mind's voice sounds different, though similar. Despite the warnings, he started to fly in the direction of the wooded area the two-leggers were gathered. What had happened to his beloved Princess?

Tristan sighed, but surprisingly remained calmed, showing an odd maturity. He knew this was bad. If Ismalia found out that Tenel Ka lost her memories, the country would go into an uproar mayham. Not to mention, his grandmother would probably resume the throne permantely, deeming Tenel Ka unfit to rule. This was absolutely crucial that no one besides them, and maybe Lady Nasuada knew about Tenel Ka's condition. In the mean time, Tristan would have to assume her duties, posing as Tenel Ka. This was not what he had wanted, but he would not let his country that his cousin so dearly loved go into chaos. "Romulus is right, we need to get back to the tent. Tenel Ka, I recommend you say nothing to anyone that approaches you for now. Teodora and I will be by your side from now on to make sure it doesn't become overwhelming. If anyone approaches, just smile, wave, and greet with a simple 'Hello', all right? But, we must get back...the troops will start to suspect something is wrong." He explained carefully and slowly to Tenel Ka. "You can ride with me." Tristan pointed to his horse. "Rom, can you scout this area and find anymore clues to what happened to my cousin?"
Rom nodded. "Aye, I am eager to get to the bottom of this. Perhaps you might want to get Angela the Herbalist to look at Tenel Ka. She may be able to help." "Oh, okay." Tristan gestured for Tenel Ka and Teodora to follow him and head back to their tents.
*** Trinity felt remorse for Caedus. She could only imagine what the elder dragon was experiencing. To not feel your bond would be a frightful nightmare. Her mind voice? Does that mean someone else is controlling her? Trinity asked Caedus, unsure what this meant. She felt Tristan speak to her and related to Caedus quickly. They're returning to camp now. Tristan says he will explain to her about you first, as he knows you must be worried sick to see her. I am sorry Caedus; we will get to the bottom of this! Trinity assured.

OOC: Tristan's growing up. She hesitated as they insisted she return to whatever tent they were talking about. She felt a bit reassured about one thing; they all seemed to agree about who she was. She just wished she had the whole picture. When Tristan insisted she ride back with him, she looked to Rom for guidance. Perhaps it was because he was the first she met, or because he had treated her the most calmly and gently; whichever reasion, she trusted him most out of the three. When he seemed all right with her going, she followed after Tristan, confused about everything. "Are we in Ismalia?" she asked, still confused about everything. If she was a queen, shouldn't she be living in a palace, instead of tents? And what was this about troops? ~~~~~ Caedus growled in frustration when Trinity told him Tristan wished for him to stay away from Tenel Ka. He was anxious to see her, if only to confirm it was actually her. Her mind felt so different, he was having his doubts. She was not the same woman he had bonded to, that much was certain. He wanted to do whatever he could to get her back.

OOC: Just a tad bit. Its time to make him a worthy prince...lol
Tristan stood by the horse, offering a hand to help her up onto the saddle. He paused when she asked if they were in Ismalia. Obliging her this one question, he shook his head. "No, dear cousin, we are not in our country, Ismalia. We are in Alagaesia. There is a war going on. You came here almost a year ago and discovered that the people here were being mistreated and joined a rebel group called the Varden. Since you became Queen, you have vowed to help your allies. We are now going to the Varden camp, where we are staying during this war." He explained briefly to her. "We must return there now, as we have brought our Ismalian troops to help aid the battle, and I much prefer us talking in the safety of our tent than in the open. As I fear that someone has stolen your memories from you, and I do not want them to harm you further." He gave her a soft smile.
"Its okay, Tenel Ka. You can go with Tristan and Teodora. They're not only your best friends, but they are your protectors." Romulus assured her with a calming smile. "I'll be there shortly; I'm going to scan the area to see if there was someone who did this to you." He gave a nod to Tristan and Teodora, another lingering look at Tenel Ka, and he soon disappeared into the woods, trying to locate any foul play.

She continued to hesitate for a moment, looking to Rom for reassurance before going with Tristan. His smile reassured her, although her lack of memory made it hard to really trust anyone. She nodded to Tristan's instructions and followed him. The idea of her being a queen, and leading in the middle of a war...it was all just so overwhelming. She took Tristan's hand and mounted the saddle, but stared back over her shoulder at Rom. A spike of worry came to her; what if whatever had happened to her would happen to him out here? She didn't say anything, but continued to stare at Rom with anxious eyes, holding tightly onto Tristan. The pressure of her arm around his waist was the only thing really showing how confused and terrified she was at the moment.
