Romulus sat at the Kingsley dining table, feeling a bit uncomfortable sitting at the head of the table, let alone his new title as Duke. "Are you not hungry, Master Romulus?" A servant looked at him with worried eyes. Rom glanced over at the servant and gave a sheepish smile. "Sorry, Marion, I just got caught up in my thoughts again." "Its all right, young Master. It must be awkward to be back here again. I must say though, we are all glad for your return...it was quite dark since your brother took over..." Marion trailed off. She was one of the older servants that remembered Romulus. "Yes, its different. I guess I prefer the outdoors." He sighed, gazing out the window toward the estate woods. His mind drifted off again to the fond memory of hunting with Tenel Ka. He missed her terribly, but now, he knew he would only be in her way, and so he had left. He shook himself from his daydream. It wasn't proper for him to love her; she was a Queen, and he...despite his regained title and estate, would always be unworthy for her affections. "I'm going to get some air, Marion." He announced and left the hall, much to the concern of his devoted servants. Romulus exited the mansion and called for a steed. He needed some air and thought he might as well see how Remus was doing, if only to see if he would take up his proposal.
*** Romulus entered the jailhouse in Gil'ead and was permitted to see Remus. "Come to gloat again, brother?" Remus asked behind his bars once he spotted Romulus. "No. I came to see what you've decided." Romulus reminded. "You want my decision? This is my decision!" He spat at Rom's face. "I'll never forgive you for taking my title! You are not a Kingsley! You're an orphan that my father took pity on! You have no right to bear the Kingsley crest! It is mine by birthright!" Remus yelled, gripping the bars to the point that his knuckles were white. "And to have you come here, to make me grovel for a position in my one home! You'll pay for what you have done to me, Romulus!" Remus continued to shout.
Romulus sighed as he wiped his face. "Father had named me the rightful heir, blood or non. I am his son. And it is you who has disgraced our family's name. I only offer you a chance to redeem it. Why must you be so stubborn, brother? You are the only family I have left. Please, stop your stubborness and join me at home. You are a Duke."
"Leave me be. I don't speak to peasants." Remus sneered and turned his back on Romulus.
"I do hope you change your mind, Remus."
"Leave, traitor scum." Remus hissed out.
Romulus sighed and left the jailhouse, feeling dejected. Ever since he had returned, Rom felt more alone than ever. His brother hated him, and at one point he did too, but he had come to see that revenge was not the way so spared his brother. But, his brother had allies and was sworn to the King. Now, his return he had begun to eliminate any that were loyal to the King in hopes to form an army for Lady Nasuada; he had promised her that he would be there at the final battle. Stress had come upon Romulus as his life had grown more complicated, and what plagued him more was that he had no one to comfort him...no family...and worse of all, no love to confide in.
Romulus exited the jailhouse, unaware of the eyes that followed him as he returned to his estate. Those loyal to Galbatorix were not pleased with Romulus' return and wanted to do something about it...but who, who would help them rid Gil'aed of the noble Duke Romulus?

Allecia sat in the cell next to Remus Kingsley's. She could, of course, leave any time she chose, but she want a moment to speak with the removed Duke. He seemed to be the prime subject for what she had in mind. She needed a test, someone to practice on. But she wasn't about to force it on him. No, instead she would twist him into accepting it. She watched as the younger Kingsley left the jailhouse, her eyes following him steadily. He wasn't going to be a problem to her, though perhaps he would to any others involved in this little scheme. She really didn't care. Once Romulus was gone, she watched for the guards to relax, and then causally sneaked into the next cell over. "Well...it seems fate has not been very kind to you, poor dear," she said to Remus. ~~~~~ She lay curled around the cot in her tent, her one arm held tightly to herself. She was tremendously lonely right now, missing Romulus. He had been her comfort, her rock. He was the one thing he was sure of admist all this confusion of her lacking memories. Without his gentle words, she felt as if she was drowning in all the information Tristan was forcing upon her, flailing around as she attempted to practice queenly duties which she didn't feel adequate to perform. And she knew Tristan had taken on much of the responsiblities that would otherwise have been hers. She wondered how she had ever managed before. She almost couldn't blame herself for wanting to forget. She barely stirred from her unfocused state of oblivion and self-pity when she heard someone enter. Her only movement was her gray eyes drifting toward the opening to see who it was.

The sound of a woman's voice jumped Remus from his self-pity. He glanced over to the cell next to him. He didn't remember her being brought in, but then again, he really didn't care for anyone but himself. Remus snorted. "What is it to you?" He hissed over, still angry from his conversation with Romulus.
*** Tristan walked inside the Tenel Ka's tent. "Hey, Tenel Ka." Tristan found his cousin on her cot, still looking sad and dejected, especially since Romulus' departure. "How are you today?" He asked her, having found time from his duties to see her.
*** In a dank and musky tavern on the outskirts of Gil'aed, a group of individuals gathered together. "So is it agreed?" "Aye, we take out the new Kingsley Duke." "When will the magicians get here?" "Tonight." "I'm tired of that self righteous prick. He's not going to get away with putting Remus in jail." "Calm yourself Smith. He'll get his, but we have to get the man-power first." "There are some still loyal to Remus around here...and to the King." "Good...now we just have to think of a way to spring Remus out and kill Kingsley."
The individuals mumbled in agreement as they discussed their plans of storming the Kingsley estate. OOC: Hmm, how to get Sidhion in here....meeep

OOC: Good luck figuring that out. lol
Allecia smiled at Remus' surprise and suspicion. He truly was quite the character. She sat down on the cot of his cell and watched him, her eyes only rarely blinking. "Oh, I care very little about it all," she informed him, her tone somewhat bored. "I already know everything about how your little adopted brother came along and had you arrested groundlessly in order to steal your title. Do you think that he is still angry about that slavery incident?" She already knew both perspectives of the story, and rather believed Romulus was more in the right. But she spoke in a way to appeal to Remus' opinions and beliefs, stroking his ego and making out Rom to be a villian. Her smile turned mysterious as she continued to speak. "I have some keen influence with some powerful people," she mentioned. "It would not be so terribly difficult to find a way to re-establish your status as duke. It is your birthright, after all. And perhaps I can find a way to remove that half-elf permenantly from your way?" She gave him a questioning look. She may have to stroke broken pride a bit more before he would readily agree to what she proposed, but she had every confidence that he would go along willingly with her suggestion. ~~~~~ She blinked slowly as Tristan came in. Doubtless, he was worried about her. He was always worried about her; of all those who knew of her current state, he seemed the most desperate for her to remember what he had forgotten--after Caedus, of course. She fixed her gaze on the tent wall again, and despite herself, a tear leaked from her eyes. "What am I going to remember?" she asked him. It was a different question than what she normally wondered. Often she simply asked how long it would take, her frustration getting the better of her. But now she wasn't sure she wanted to know. "I know you have told me what happened to my arm, which was an accident...You have told me my mother was murdered by someone in our family, and that they wish me dead as well. I can see for myself that we are involved in the middle of a war." She gripped the edge of the bed with her hand tightly. "What else have I forgotten? Maybe I don't want to remember...it seems like my life was filled with so much pain. Starting over feels like it would be easier than knowing what I used to know." She avoided Tristan's gaze, not wanting him to see how truly afraid she was. She wished, more than anything, that Romulus was there to help calm her fears, to reassure her that there was joy in her past, and to continue his more gentle approach to attempt to coax the memories back.

OOC: Yeah...the problem is cause I don't know how "Through Heaven's Eyes" is gonna turn out...so I can't use him yet here...grrr
Remus twitched, annoyed with each word that Allecia was uttering to him. He didn't need to be reminded why he was in this blasted cell! Romulus will pay dearly once he figured out a way to get out...His mind stopped its plotting. This woman knew powerful people. He rose an eyebrow at that, but was still suspicious. "And why would you go out and do that for me, woman?" He eyed her will distrust. "What do you have to gain from my reinstatement and the death of my so called brother?" He asked and despite his distrust, he felt himself lean closer toward her direction, his corrupted soul eager to know how to gain back what he lost and to rectify the mistake he had for allowing Romulus to live when they were younger.
*** Tristan's eyes grew sad at Tenel Ka's struggles and burdens. Her questioning was different this time, as if she was beginning to understand those burdens that she once held. He felt terrible having to force all of it upon her, but he knew deep down she could handle it; she did it once, she just needed to trust herself...to trust that instinct within her. However, he knew she could only take so much at the same time. He sat down in a chair across from her. "Cousin, I...I know that I have been pushing you tremondously to remember who you are, but its because I know how strong you are. I know you don't remember, but you are. I don't know how you did the things you did, but, I do know that you were meant for to do great things...out of the two of us, you are far more capable."
He looked down at his hands. "I can't imagine what you are enduring right now....frustration, anger, confusion, and even fear are probably your daily emotions." He sighed. "Its understandable....but just because you have those feelings and doubts about who you are, doesn't mean that your life was horrible." He cracked a smile. "We had fun times." His eyes went back to reflecting on old memories. "Why, I remember how you would always scold me when I was being stupid or how you would desperartly try and not laugh when ever Teodora and I were arguing, despite how irritated you were too..." He gave a small chuckle. "And how you would always comfort me whenever I was confused or in trouble. You're a strong woman, Tenel Ka. Far stronger than myself...filled with love and compassion...you even forgave me for what I did to you..." He tried gazing up at her eyes, "even though I know I don't deserve it..." He muttered.
"Cousin," He know forced his eyes to look at her, knowing that she needed more comfort than himself, "I told you what happened, but I didn't really tell you what happened to me afterward." His jaw tightened, "I was banished for 10 years for what I did, forced to live on my own and be shuned by my own family. It was incredibly hard. I would sometimes lie awake wondering if you've forgiven me...if my aunt forgave me...and I would end up crying myself to sleep for harming you." He gazed over at the tent flap. Reliving those days were hard for him, and even harder to express to someone; he had never told anyone what he was about to tell his Cousin. "There were days were I too didn't want to remember what happened...where I figured it would be easier to start over and make myself someone else...to put it behind me...but wherever I went, I couldn't help but be who I was. It's apart of me...those days with my family, and those years when I was all alone. Sometimes, it was hard to accept...to a point where I sometimes couldn't bear to be alive anymore." He was silent for a moment. "But you know what made my days better?" He gave her a smile, his eyes a bit watery, "I remembered those days when we ran around playing. I remembered on the day that I left, though we never spoke, you never had a look of anger or resent, but of sadness that I was leaving. And I remembered a promise that I made to Father to protect you. No matter what. Those kept me going; helped me remember that no matter what happened, that I was Tristan. A Prince of Ismalia. It's in my blood, just as it is in your blood. You may not remember who you are, but I do, and your heart does too. You are of Tenel Ka, Queen Mother of Ismalia. Who you are, its...not about memories, but about instinct. Trust in your instincts, Tenel Ka. Trust in those that love you and care for you. You are a Queen; don't doubt that."
He gave her his characteristic smile; filled with energy and love. "I guess, what I'm saying, is just trust in me. Your memories will come back-I'm doing my best to figure out what happened, but right now, you need to just concentrate on doing your usual routine for now, to let the soldiers see you; you have no idea how much you affect them. Just do your best. That's all I ask...and I know, your life is hard, but, its worth it, I think. You had a lot on your plate, but that never stopped you from doing what you thought was right." He chuckled, "why, I sometimes think you purposely did things out of the ordinary to just not be what people expected you to be." He told her, hoping that what he had said wasn't too much for her.
