Taran watched her step into the small clearing, then closed the distance between himself and her. Placing the tip of his sword inches from her back, he waited to see her intentions, still not alerting her with any sound or movement, though he could do nothing to mask his presence from the mind.

Elyria sensed the blade near her back. Leaping into the air she somersaulted backwards over his head...now he was on the other end of her blade. She waited to see what the elf would do.

Taran did not move, did not even watch the woman flip over him. Keeping his eyes straight ahead, he turned in a blink, hitting the sword away from him, though it remained in her grasp. Bringing his sword up in a defensive position, he took a single step backwards. "What do you want, rider?" he asked her without any venom in his voice.

The large, emerald green dragon came crashing through the trees at the threat to his Rider. At her back he let out a mighty roar toward the elf.
"We track the party that attacked the ship." She narrowed her green eyes. "What do you know of the ship?"

Taran did not flinch at the sight of the rider's dragon, standing his ground. "That was my ship, rider, until these double-crossing liars attacked it," Taran said, gesturing at the raiders, lowering his sword slightly.

Lowering her sword Elyria met him with the traditional elven greeting. "I am Elyria and this is Domia. We are tracking smugglers."

Taran sheathed his sword, finishing the elf gesture of greeting. "Well, then you would be looking at the source of smuggling in this quarter if you cared to glance at that man there," Taran said, gesturing at the raiders' leader.

"Filth. I ought to drop you where lie but I suspect the Varden may have some questions for you. Be glad for that is the only thing that will cause me to sheath my blade. Murderous traitors." She looked at the raider with disgust.

Taran grew worried as the woman spoke. Raising his hand, as if to ask for permission to speak, he cleared his throat. "There is uh...one problem with that, rider. He said that the cargo was FOR the varden."

Elyria shot a look at the raiders. "That may well be but I have no use for murderers, bandits or thieves. Whichever side they may be on."

Taran looked at Jeriah and Oranthor. 'I think I can stand this one,' he told Adurthil. 'At least she understands the world. If she stays, it will be nice to be around a normal person.'

Elyria looked at the two. "If that is an invitation... We gladly accept. We have been travelling long."

Taran spread his arms wide, as if to welcome an old friend. "It is fine with me, though I cannot speak for my friends there," he said drawing the attention to Jeriah and Oranthor.

Elyria looked toward the girl he said was Jeriah and her brilliantly colored orange dragon Oranthor. "Well what do you say?" she smiled.
