Eli's attention was caught at Ferlan's voice. She looked at the man, and concern washed over her. Soranai followed her gaze with sleepy eyes and chirruped questioningly. "He was that one who brought you here," she explained. "Greetings, rider for the Varden? what brings you here?"
The rider's attention was fixed on the dragon hatchling on her shoulder. He looked down and patted his coat. Then he looked up again and glared at Nora. "That dragon was suppose to go to Islanzadi!" he proclaimed.
Sora hissed, sleepiness forgotten. Who was he to challenge her right to Elianora?

The rider still had his sword drawn on the group. Elyria stood holding out her Gedwey ignasia for him to see as Domia rose to show his full stature, looking menacingly at the rider. "Friend, I suggest you do as the man asks and lower your sword or I'll let my emerald friend over here have a long overdue snack. And while you are at it, watch the tone you take with a Rider. I am sure Queen Islanzadi will be happy that another Rider is born into the fight." Elyria made gesture to Eli and the hatchling while narrowing her gaze at the rider.

Holding up a hand for peace, Elianora calmed Soranai and addressed the rider. "Please, sheath your knife. You are still disoriented and healing, We will not hurt you."
The man gave them a suspicious look and tried to stand. His eyes rolled with pain, and he collapsed again. A moan escaped his lips, and Soranai chirped with concern. Though she didn't care for the man's attitude, if Eli trusted him, she would try.

Ferlan rached out and caught the man before he hit the ground. "Easy," he told the man, "You don't quite have your strength back. Just settle down here and tell us what your mission is."

The rider looked at Ferlan and thanked him. "My mission was to take the egg to Queen Islanzadi, for an elf. Along with this letter." He pulled a torn and dirty piece of parchment from a pocket and handed it to Eli. "Unfortunately, I was attacked by Urgals on the way here, and my horse must have spooked when he saw the green dragon. And now that the egg has hatched, I will give the letter to you to deliver," he said to Elianora. "Tell her my story and giver her my regards." He moaned and closed his eyes. "Now get me my horse. I must return to give this news to Surda and the Varden."
Eli took the letter, putting it in a pocket in her skirt. "I will deliver your message, but I cannot let you leave. WE cannot until you are healed." She turned her gaze to Ferlan's more perfect one. "When will that be?" She smiled.

Elyria watched as Elianora placed the note away for safekeeping. A new rider with a hatchling. She would need to stick close to make sure they made it to Ellesmeara in one piece. The Empire would surely know about the hatching of another dragon and the pair would be a target.

Ferlan looked into Nora's gaze and smiled, then said, "Not for at least a day. Sir," he said, turning to the man, "you must remain here until you have your strength back. right now you can barely walk. You need to rest and eat. You are safe here; you will not be attacked. You have my guarantee." He retrieved some food by the campfire and cut some fruits. Before giving them to the man, he said over them, "Have healing." Then he knelt before the man. "All right. Just eat a few bites at a time. These should be able to restore your strength." Fethrfricai chirruped from his shoulder, then flew to Nora for a minute. That bird's getting stranger by the minute, Ferlan thought to himself.

OOC: Yeah. Fethrfricai is becoming a friendly nuisance.
When Fethrfricai fluttered over, Soranai chirped at her. Are you Elianora's friend? she projected to the bird. She tilted her head and landed beside the bird, sending it friendly pictures and crooning.
Elianora looked questioningly at the bird, then glanced at Ferlan. At the bemused look on his face, she smiled. Then she returned her attentions to Fethrfricai. "What is it, friend?"
The rider looked at everyone with a curious expression. The words, "not for another day, sir," crankled his mood. "What do you mean not until tomorrow? What am I to do until then?"
"You could stay still under Ferlan's care," Eli advised, half distracted from Ferlan's bird. Ferlan. . . . strange name for an elf, but I like it. A very faint pink crept into her cheeks.

OOC: lol, I sense a mutual crush on the way. lol. Ferlan nodded in agreement with Nora. "Yes, you need to stay here. You will be well looked after, I can assure you." Then he turned to Elianora. He thought of her name. He had never heard of it before. He thought it a very beautiful name. Fethrfricai turned to glance at him again. What? he asked her, I was just thinking she has a pretty name. It's not like you're the only woman I'm allowed to observe, he added humorously. The bird chirruped, then sent him an image of giving Nora a large boquet of flowers and seemed to be laughing. Ferlan shook his head, then looked at Nora. He noticed that her eyes were very pretty as well.

OOV: lol. I smell trouble
Soranai lost interest and fluttered back up to roost on Domia's head. Far more graceful than before. She settled down, yawned, and closed her eyes. A high hum vibrated her throat, and she sent peacefilled thoughts to the whole company. Elianora laughed, a lower one than before, unaware of Ferlan's expression, or Fethrfricai's chirruping.
The rider shook his head in confusion. Then laid back. "Green dragon rider," he said, staring up at the white clouds swirling by overhead. "Please tell me, which of the Varden riders are you?"

"I am Elyria, Rider of Domia and who might you be?" She asked the man.

"I am Lionel. Domia? Hmmm." His brow furrowed in thought. Then his expression changed. "Ah yes. I know of Domia." He reached a hand into his pocket and pulled out a sheet of paper. He held it up to Elyria. "I don't know who it's from, but it sounded it important."

Ferlan walked forward. "This is all very well, and I understand in importance of such messages, but now I must insist that you rest, Lionel." Ferlan was very firm. Lionel handed the parchment to Elyria, then settled down again and the healer's insistance. Ferlan turned to Nora. "Patiants," he said softly to her, "They never listen to their physician's advice until you make them." He gave Eli a grin and a wink, then sat on the ground where he had been sleeping earlier. Fethrfricai landed on his shoulder again and chirruped, sending him an image of him and Eli running through a medow somewhere. Will you stop it? he asked. The bird only chirpped in response, though, if birds could smile, she would have been grinning at that moment.

Elyria took the paper from the man. Unfolding it she read it as a frown came over her face.

Elianora frowned at Fethrfricai. She vaguely understood what it said. Something about a meadow. . . . "What about a meadow?" she asked her, not knowing that the bird was speaking only to Ferlan. "Where?"
