( OOC: lol) Taran waited with Aethelwyne for the moon to rise. He wanted time to hurry so it could be done and finished, yet he wanted time to stand still, so they could spend endless time together. (OOC: there you go! have fun! lol)

It was time. The moon was high as she proceeded with Taran outside to make contact with the High Priestess. She had explained to him that the coven communicated through a type of meditation and projection. Though they would be able to see the form of the High Priestess, she would not be able to see them. She would only be able to see the form of Aethelwyne from wherever the priestess was located. He would be able to hear everything. She looked to Taran watching from behind the wards she had put up around herself to shield him and their whereabouts just to make sure. Aethelwyne sat on the mountainside, preparing herself for the meeting. She made sure that she had extra blocks in her mind surrounding her time with and feelings for Taran. These were hers and his alone. She took a deep, cleansing breath and consecrated the corners and her space. When she had finished, she put her hands in front of her, palms together and raised them slowly up to the moon and lifted them up and away parting as they came over her head until they again met at her waist returning them to a praying position.
As she finished she sat and the ethereal form of the High Priestess appeared before her. She bowed her head to her and spoke “Merry meet!” The High Priestess returned the greeting. “Did you send for me?” she asked the High Priestess. The woman replied, “Yes and no.” Aethelwyne looked confused. “I don’t understand. What do you mean?” “Aethelwyne you have been one of my top coveners. You are efficient and carried out your assignments without mercy…but that was before you met the Shadeslayer.” Aethelwyne was shocked that she new about Taran but did not let it show on her face or sound in her voice. “What do you know of the Shadeslayer?” she asked, careful not to show her familiarity with Taran. The High Priestess laughing with an air of disgust said, “Do not play with me child. Men working for us captured the black horse and persuaded him to talk when they found that he was not…ordinary. He lasted long before he finally gave in to the magic used on him. He now joins others on their way to the royal stables, a “special” gift for the King. Now as for you and the Shadeslayer. It was I who put out the contract. The assignment I give to you.” Aethelwyne looked at her narrowing her eyes. “If as you say you know everything, then you also know that I will not accept the assignment.” “Yes, I do. That is why I also put out contract on you. If you will not follow my orders you are a liability to me. There is no room in the coven for an assassin in love. It weakens you and makes you a liability to me and the coven” Aethelwyne now angered by the High Priestess suddenly had a thought. “I challenge the contracts. I invoke my right to Seithrs Wyrda. Witches Fate. I challenge your right to rule!” The High Priestess’s face displayed a look of shock. In all the years of the coven, no one had ever invoked the Seithrs Wyrda. “Very well. That is your right but first you will have to get back to the coven. I will not recall the contracts. You have a year and a day, as is custom. We will see if you can make it past the obstacles in front of you.” With that the High Priestess was gone.
Aethelwyne rose and walked to Taran. “I am sorry Taran. This is my fault. My love, as my life, seems to hold only death for those unfortunate enough to come across my path. I am sorry that you are in this position because of me.” She lowered her head, gazing at the ground.

Taran wrapped his arms around Aethelwyne, holding her tight to his chest. "No, it is not your fault, nor is it mine. Fate is a strange thing, my love, and it cannot be fought," he said, trying to comfort her. "And sometimes, fate can be changed. If we fight strong enough, with out love, we can change it. I love you, and there is nothing I would not do for you. I will face this by your side, fighting, watching, learning, loving. I will never abandon you, my love."

"Nor I you my love!" She looked in his eyes while he held her and spoke. "Let's go home!"

Taran turned back towards the hidden home, still holding her in his arms. 'Did she say home?' he thought. 'Yes, it is home. Her home..our home.' He walked on, not giving a care in the world about the events around them.

As they entered "their" home...their sanctuary from the rest of the world, she again felt more than mere words could express. Her heart swelled, overwhelmed by her feelings for him and she stopped and softly kissed him on his lips. She lost herself in his touch, his embrace, the scent of him, but mostly in the depths of his love. "I never in my wildest dreams could have hoped for someone such as you. You have touched a part of me and awakened it reigniting what could have been and changing it to what will be. Thank you my love."

Taran welcomed her kiss, then looked her deep in her eyes. "Thank you, Aethelwyne. You have given me a place to belong, one that I've never had before. I have a purpose now, and all thanks to you," he told her, conveying his feelings through their link, making his mark glow softly.

The tatoo mark upon her glowed silently, brightly. The mark that he had left upon her not long ago when they pledged themselves to one another for all eternity in the Ancient Language warmed her as she opened herself to the feelings she shared with him. She took him by the hand and led him quietly to the bed. "Are you tired?" she said looking deeply into his eyes. She thought about what he had said. It was true. There were many obstacles ahead of them but, their love would give them the strength needed to overcome all. Their bond was special. They were linked, through heart and soul. The insignia on his chest, the small tatoo insignia over her heart, linked them in many special ways. She could see through his eyes and he through hers. They had always been able to touch the minds of others but this bond allowed them to touch the very soul of the other without effort or detection. She silently, quietly watched him as they walked. She felt whole.

Taran thought for a moment, taking his time walking with her. He was not really tired, having taken a shower and having ate dinner. "Well, love, I could stay up for a while. Are you tired?"

"No. I am not tired." Reaching for him she drew him down next to her. "I just want to feel your arms around me. Here. In this moment."

Taran laid beside her, wrapping his arms around her figure. Taran blushed slightly, holding her to him. 'I love you,' he thought, powerful enough for her to hear him. He kissed her softly, feeling her velvety soft lips against his. 'I love you,' he thought again.

His mark upon her glowed with a soft, brilliant intensity as did the insignia upon his chest. The intensity of the glow cast a silvery-teal light about the cave as they held each other. There was no need for words. The look in their eyes and the love in their hearts was all they needed. The night and their love took them into the morning to greet a new day.

Taran woke looking into her violet eyes. "Good Morning," he told her. He laid there for a few moments, enjoying life. Rising from bed, he made his way to his clothes. "Im going to go wash these, I'll be back in a few minutes." Walking through the corridors, Taran felt at peace...home.

She watched as he slept, his breath came slow and even. She could feel his love with every breath he took. Sleep did not come to her, afraid that if she closed her eyes she would awake to find it had been but a dream. She laid next to him, content to watch him. She traced his features in her mind’s eye. The soft waves of his hair lay on the pillow under his head. His hand, resting gently on her waist. A smile played softly on her lips. She watched as his eyes opened revealing the deep green that swallowed her every time she looked into them. “Good Morning” she replied to him. As he left to wash his clothes she mused to herself, ‘He does laundry? I definitely need to keep him around!’ Doc shot her a quick greeting. ‘Aethelwyne, I do your laundry. Well at least dry it for you.’ He laughed as he touched her mind. ‘You must be careful though. Your bond with Taran is stronger than either of you know. I feel it will show its depths in the days to come. You have taken him as your mate and it will only grow.’ Aethelwyne thought briefly. She had not taken Doc into consideration much the last couple of days. ‘Doc? Are you okay?’ She felt the dragon’s warmth and love for her and something else…happiness. ‘I’ll take that as a yes!’
Aethelwyne waited for Taran to return. She looked around the cave. It had always been a place of safety for her but now it was more. It was their home! He had helped to make it truly theirs last night. A place of love, comfort and security. Suddenly she decided that she would get up. If he could do the wash, then the least she could do after the magical night they spent, was make breakfast. Pulling the sheet around her, she fashioned it into a sarong and proceeded to make the meal. She would make him one of her favorites from when she was a child. Gathering the ingredients, she set about making the thin pancakes, wrapped them around the fruit, and sprinkled them with the powdery sugar from the supplies. Smiling, she set the table and waited for him. "I have breakfast ready if you are hungry my love. Unless, you would prefer something other than fruit and bread?"

Taran quickly finished with the laundry, then returned to the bedroom, but it was empty. Hearing her call him, he walked into the kitchen, smiling just at seeing her. "Oh course, love. I would welcome anything you give me."
