She felt his words and deep down an anger caused from his worry. "I am sorry my love. I had to try and I knew you would try to stop me." She touched his face as she showed him the images of her encounter with Galbatorix. Her breathing shallow and quick as she awaited the reaction he would have to seeing what she had done.

Taran grew not so much angered, but frustrated. Putting his hands on her shoulders, he looked deep into her eyes. "I understand what you did, but it was foolish and reckless. It was very dangerous, even for you my love. Do not ever do that again. I would prefer you let me know of your plans, that way if would know where you are and what you are doing and I could arrive quickly if you ever needed help." More small tears fell down his cheeks as he thought about what would have happened is she had been caught. In hismind, he could see her body twisted and bare before the King and the Coven High Priestess, the king indulging his evil mind. That sight not only brought tears to his eyes, but a growing anger. He looked away from her, walking to a tree and sitting ats roots, the tears falling freely from his eyes.

Aethelwyne walked slowly to him. Kneeling down next to him, she kissed away the tears flowing from his eyes. She felt his fear, knew the darkest of them. "I am sorry my love. I did not mean to cause you distress. I thought I could come to an arrangement with the King, instead I angered him further and placed us in greater jeapordy." She pulled him to her chest as she softly, gently stroked his hair. She thought back upon the events. The feeling inside her growing again. She remembered the strange magic that allowed her to get to the forest. She puzzled over this.

Taran fell into her embrace, letting her soothe away his sadness. He sensed something puzzling her. "What is it, love, that troubles you so?" he asked softly.

She wasn’t sure how to put into words what she was feeling. Taking his face in her hands, she looked into his eyes. “I am changed by our bond, by our love. I don’t exactly understand it, but I can feel you, always close within me. The feel is different than our love, but yet the same. It was that which gave me the strength to face down Galbatorix.” She released him from her touch, allowing her hands to fall to her lap. “And something else. When I felt the pull at me to return here, to meet you, the distance folded and I was surrounded by a great power that shone of silvery-teal light… then I was here in the forest with Elianora and Narth, awaiting you. I do not understand this.” She looked at him, trying to read his face. She opened herself to him so that he could feel or sense that of which she spoke.

A guard entered the throne room, his face deathly pale. Galbatorix rolled his eyes, unable to stop himself. "Yes?" He asked, exasperated. The guard bowed. "Coven leader Nashante seeks a meeting with you." Suddenly alert, Galbatorix straightened in his seat and waved a hand at the shaking man. "Well, then. Let her in. I've been meaning to speak with her." A dark gleam entered his eye as the guard exited the room and spoke to Nashante.

Nashante entered into the throne room, gown flowing softly behind her as she walked. "My Lord," bowing her head to him reverantly she awaited him to speak. Looking at the arm of the throne she noticed a deep knick in it as if it had been gouged by a knife. She quickly averted her gaze from the throne.

Noticing the direction of Nashante's gaze, Glabatorix began feeling the deep gouge with the tip of a finger. "I had a very hostile visitor last night, Nashante. In fact, I beleive it was Aethelwyne herself." Leaping to his feet, he nearly ran down the steps leading to the throne. He stopped inches away from the Siethr. "I ought to kill you mysef!" he shouted, jabbing a finger into her shoulder. "You are beginning to loose your importance to me. These Siethr witches of yours are supposed to be incapabale of love! And yet, two have abondoned because of it! Your sister and your niece!" Gabatorix stepped away from Nashanted and crossed his arms. He took a moment to calm himself, his breaths coming quickly. "This is what happened last night." And he retold the previous nights events with Aethelwyne, ending with her obvious threat. He was unaware the seithr already knew everything that had happened.
"So, do you think you can defeat her? She is younger than you." An evident sneer entered his voice. "Fortunately for you, I don't want that brat to succeed. Although recent events have put me in doubt, you have served me well in the past." Turning, Galbatorix walked slowly back to his throne and continued speaking. "Prepare yourself for the fight, Nashante." Sitting upon his throne, he said in a deadly voice, "and don't fail me again."

Nashante tensed from the contact with Galbatorix. Careful not to flinch or show sign of weakness, she calmly took his berating. After he had returned to his throne Nashante spoke. "My lord I have done everything you have asked of me and more. I may be older but the girl does not have all the knowledge I hold. I will not wait for her to find me, I track her. I killed Shi'nil per your request after revealing the prophecy of the twins, as well as the elf. I shall not fail you."

Elianora greeted Aethel with a nod of her as she appeared. She watched and waited with her friend until a dragon and a rider appeared, then she took a step back out of sight with the horse. Feelings of discomfort arose as she watched the other rider, and elf, embrace Aethel. She shouldn't be here, watching this.
After awhile, she broke cover and approached the happy couple. She cleared her throat and pushed the horse forward. "Here is your horse back," she said in as level a tone as possible. Her brown/green/blue eyes looked anywhere but at the two before her. Right now, she thought, my eyes will be looking purplish. Embarrassment could do that to them.

Galbatorix waved his hand in agitation. "Good!" Fuming in silence, he suddenly remembered something. Standing, he walked from the throne, around it, and to Shruikan. Reaching up, he grabbed the hilt of the knife protruding from a black side scale. Tearing the weapon out, causing Shruikan to flinch, the king walked back to Nashante. "Here. This is the weapon your renegade Siethr used." He smiled evily. "I've always been poetic. Wouldn't it be great if you could slay her with this very blade." A mad laugh escaped his lips as he once more sat upon his throne.

Nashante reaching out, took the knife from Galbatorix. Smiling as she looked at the blade. "Poetic indeed. This was one of her mothers knives!" Placing the knife inside the sleeve of her gown she smiled at the King and took her leave of him.
Outside the castle wall, she once again picked up Aethelwyne's trail. Holding her hand to the wind she called forth a large black crow. 'Find her and report back to me!' With that she threw out her hand and the large black crow followed the magical trail to the forest. Sitting on the branch of nearby tree, he watched as Aethelwyne and Taran spoke under a tree and the woman near the horse sat and waited. He watched gathering information for Nashante.
Nashante procured a horse from the stable and began her journey, headed in the direction of Furnost.

Taran could feel what she spoke, he could feel the strange power flowing through her from and through his mark. Raising tear-stained eyes, he looked at her. 'I can feel it, love. But there is something...more. I can feel something, some kind of power, flowing through both us."

Aethelwyne reached out to touch the Gedwey insignia upon his chest, then she raised a hand and placed it upon the mark he had given her on her own. The glow and power emitted when they were joined was intense as she felt her love for him. “Taran I do not understand this bond of ours.” She put her hands down into her lap and again felt her love for him. Again the energy and light from their marks grew in intensity. “We do not even have to be touching anymore to unleash this power.”
As they spoke in quiet, Elianora had been waiting out of site, not wanting to intrude. When they finished, she approached them. “Taran, this is Elianora, a friend. She helped me with my task and freed Narth and I am in her debt. She also possesses very special gifts.”
As Taran spoke with Elianora, Aethelwyne sensed something close. A presence nearby, listening and watching. Reaching out she felt it. ‘So there you are my treacherous friend.' Slowly reaching into her sleeve under the guise of listening to Taran and Elianora, Aethelwyne reached out with her mind. Seeing the bird in her mind’s eye, not taking her eyes off Taran, she loosed the star in one swift, fluid movement. Not until the black bird fell to the forest floor did she look toward it.
“We have to leave. Elianora can you get Narth to Dras-Leona and wait for us there. With your permission of course Narth. See if you can find help for we will need it. Taran and I will meet you there in two days time. Nashante knows where we are so that means the King also knows. The crow was hers. We must split up. She will expect us to try to reach Oberon so we will go to Dras-Leona and regroup. I will explain more when we meet there. Go quickly.” Aethelwyne walked over to the bird and looked into its lifeless eyes. “So it begins Nashante.”
************************************************
Nashante watched through the eyes of the crow as she travelled to Furnost. There was something strange about Aethelwyne and her lover. The marks upon them were strange magic indeed. She had never seen anything like them before. There was something powerful…a strong magic. She could feel it through her connection with the crow. The King would need to know. Stopping in a clearing she made camp as night was falling. Near the fire she sat and projected herself to Galbatorix. “My Lord, I bring you…news.” Head bowed she waited for him to bid her proceed.

Taran enjoyed his talk with Elianora, though it was short. He always enjoyed meeting new people, especially the ones that had a story to tell. Leaping atop Doc, Taran waited for Aethelwyne to climb up. "Then let's go, love! Women! Always take forever to do anything," he teased, throwing his arms up for dramatic effect.
