"Nora my friend, safe journey." She knew her new friend was capable of taking care of herself but worried about her just the same. The way to Dras-Leona would be dangerous but if they split up she could lead Nashante away from their true destination. She and Taran would take the long way around Tudosten Lake, as if making for Aberon. Once clear of the lake they would head north-east to Dras-Leona to meet her and set their trap for Nashante.
Retrieving her throwing star from the crow she looked toward Taran atop Doc. He knew just how to lighten her mood and bring out the child in her. Aethelwyne laughed as he teased her. Running toward him she leapt, landing on Doc's tail as he gently flipped her into the air. She landed squarely in the saddle in front of Taran. "Fast enough for you love?" She asked him with a smile on her face. 'I do love you.' she thought as she looked in his eyes as he smiled at her.

'And I, you, my love,' he thought. Rubbing his chin and looking around in thought, he seemed to be puzzling something. "Hmmm...maybe. I think you could have been here a little sooner," he teased and laughed, giving her a big hug.

She laughed at his teasing. "You think you are so cute! Well, actually... you are pretty cute." Doc reached out to her mind. 'Aethelwyne. Please. Do as he says and never do anything like this again. I nearly destroyed Sanctuary!' She rubbed the dragons purple scales upon his neck. 'I am sorry Doc. I did not mean to cause you distress either.' Closing her eyes, she leaned back into Taran's body to rest. Safe in his embrace as Doc flew. 'I love you' again went out to him as she drifted off to sleep.

Drumming his fingers against the gouge in the arm of the gilded throne, Galbatorix pondered recent events. If only that Aethelwyne weren't so devious. If only she were a mere human. How easy it would be to dispose of her then! But no. As always, events had to procede in the most difficult of manners. At times like these, he was forced to ponder the future of Alagaesia. Fortunately, he had already secured his bloodline to the throne. Nashante had proved most useful for that particular task... As if his thought were a summons, the witch herself appeared before him. He raised an eyebrow at her. "Yes? What is it?"

"I thought you should know that I have tracked Aethelwyne and the Shadeslayer to the forest near Furnost. However, this bond that they have. It's strong. He bears the Gedwey ignasia on his chest and she bares his mark upon hers. There is a great power there. It is different from mere love. They see through the others eyes as Rider through dragon's. Sense the feelings and thoughts of each other. The know each other's location, no matter the distance. And my lord, Aethelwyne folded time and space as mere paper to get to where he would meet her. This was not a power that she had before their bond." She awaited his response.

Nashante's words brought concern into Galbatorix's mind. Had this unusual bond of their love actually made them stronger? "Disturbing news indeed." Folding his hands together, Galbatorix considered how to deal with this new threat. If she could just appear anywhere, in pyhsical form, she could practically do anything. Such a talent only shades had! At least she and her lover would be easy to identify. The marks upon them would be hard to miss, unless covered. "This is a very strange bond they have created. I wonder, if one were to die, would the other as well?" He certainly hoped so. That would allow one stone to kill two birds. "Nashante, would it be possible to ambush them? Gather your coven and attack them when they least expect it? After all, if you can track them, the task should be simple." His voice held a tinge of scorn.

Nashante heard the scorn in his voice. Raising her head to look at him she spoke, "The plan is already underway. If we can get one of them, the other will follow. Do you still wish them dead? It might be interesting, from a purely informational standpoint, to study this bond of theirs. Of course I leave that to you."

Elianora nodded to Aethel. "I will meet you there. I wish you well. Atra gulia in ilian tauthr ono un atra ono waise skoliro fra ruathr." Then the power washed around her, and she and Narth teleported. They stood several leagues away from Dras-Leona, on top of a hill she knew. "Forward we ride," she said, climbing up onto Narth and nudging him forward.

Galbatorix tapped his chin, his mind drifting to the experimental building hidden within Uru'baen (ooc: Look at Jeriah's new app. There's a building like that. I think it's a good idea). Of course, the sorcerors and other faculty might be able to draw some type of conclusion if they could study the two lovers. But was keeping them alive too much of a risk? "Something I've always liked about you, Nashante. You know how to look at a situation at all angles." He allowed a small smile to touch his lips, although it did not touch his eyes. "I pose these question's. Would it be a too great a risk to keep them alive? Would there be any potential for them to eventually escape?" He raised an eyebrow, awaiting her reply.

"Ah my lord. There is always great risk, but with great risk comes great rewards." Nashante looked at him with admiration.

The doors to the throne room flew open against the huge blast that had hit them. The guard flew across the room into one of the marble walls. The black mist drifted slowly upwards as the figure of the dark brown haired girl with the flaming brown eyes entered. "I told you not to touch me!" Walking into the chamber, she raised her head to look at Galbatorix. An evil smile played on her lips. "Hello Father. I'm home." She was happy to see him. It had been a while. Glancing at Nashante's ethereal figure she snarled "Hello Mother." She didn't have much use for the witch. As far as she was concerned Nashante's only purpose in her life was to act as vessel to bring her into the world.

Before he could reply to Nashante, the great bronze doors snapped open, smashing against the walls. Galbatorix stood quickly, ready for an attack. However, as the black mist faded, the innocent figure of his daughter appeared. Glabatorix immediately relaxed and spread his arms open wide. This time when he smiled, it showed in his dead eyes. "Ahh, my daughter. Welcome home, dear one!" Sweeping past Nashante, he enveloped his only descendant in a tight embrace. Letting her go, he eyed the fallen gaurd. "Now now, Kalri, remember what I told you? You must keep your temper under control." He eyed her sternly, then, one of his hands still touching his daughter's shoulders, walked back to Nashante.
"Kalri, you have missed a few important events." Quickly, Galbatorix re-told past events, beginning with Aethlwyne's inconvient love. At times he glared at Nashante, while at others he gave her a brief smile. "So, what is your say on the matter?" Although Kalri had something of a temper, he valued her input. With his daughter present, it was hard for him to remember everyone else in the room. She was so endearing!

Kalri looked at him innocently, batting her long eye lashes at him. "But Father. You told me if any man ever touched me he would die." She smiled at him sweetly with the fire burning in her eyes. "He did... so he is!" Shrugging her shoulders in a matter-of-fact manner.
Kalri listened to her father intently. Her hands grasped the pommel of her sword tightly as he told her of Aethelwyne's warning to him. She looked at her mother with disguist in her eyes. "Father. I think...they should be taken...Alive! They could prove...interesting to study. I wonder if one feels physical pain, does the other?" She squinted her eyes as the smile played on her lips at the possibility of testing this hypothesis. "The possibilities for what we can...learn through...research is fascinating." The fire burned brightly in her eyes as all of the questions regarding this power wrestled in her mind.

"Well, there is your answer, Nashante. If possible, take them alive. Now, leave us! I have much to catch up on with my daughter." He rolled his eyes, "our daughter." Turning his back on the Coven leader, he gave his full attention to Kalri.
"Yes, I suppose I did tell you that." He frowned, considering. "Allright, how about this? If any man touches you in an agressive way, then you may kill him." He smiled, happy with the slight change in his demands. Patting Kalri on the back, he walked to his throne and sat down up it, crossing his legs regally. "Now, my dear one. Tell me of your long days gone from me." Galbatorix only distantly noticed the other minds around the castle. With a flick of his finger, the large bronze doors closed with a bang. His precious daughter must have forgotten to close them on her way in.

Salian sat in an unobstrusive bar in Dras-Leona. The place reeked off of smoke and bad wine, but he ignored it, studying the people around him. I need a job, he thought, rising from his table. he paid the bartender and left, beginning his walk around the city. His last job had been another slaving trip, something he rarely enjoyed. Old memories haunted him as he paced down the littered, crooked streets. Walking aimlessly, he left the city, heading northeast.

Nashante, slighted by Galbatorix and her daughter bowed her head and her ethereal form disappated from the throne room. 'Insolent child. He spoils her. If she were with the Coven she would know respect." Nashante set back on her task of tracking the lovers.
**************************************************
Glancing at the doors briefly as he shut them, Kalri smiled at Galbatorix. "Sorry about that." She followed him to the throne and sat on the steps by his side, just as she had as a child. Listening to the change in his directions regarding the men she reluctantly agreed. "Okay. I promise to only kill them if they touch me in an agressive way." She pouted as she agreed. Her eyes sparkled as she told him of the mayhem...uh...adventures she had while she was away.
Changing the subject, she looked him in the eyes with deep concern. Her eyes blazed with the yellow molten fires of Helgrind itself. "Father. How did the witch manage to get so close to you without being seen?" Anger fueled her as she thought of anyone getting that close to him. The black mist of her magic snaked around her finger as she traced the outline of the gouged area in the arm of the throne from the knife. The longer she dwelt upon it the higher up her arm the black mist twisted.
