Taran stood, pulling Aethelwyne up with him. "Now, my love. I think it is time to move. Put us in a disguise, and we shall go to the inn for the night. I think your guise from a moment ago is quiet fitting," he said, a large smile of joy spreading across his lips.

Elianora used an illusion to mask her pointed ears as she and Salian entered Dras-Leona. He lead the way through the quiet streets. After a minute or so, they came upon a dingy looking inn.. Silent as spirits, they entered the inn. Elianora hesitated at the door, and Salian waved impatiently. Up a rickety staircase and through a door, they traveled. Salian sat on his bug ridden bed gesturing to the stool. "Now what?" he asked once she sat down.
She looked out the window into the starry sky. "We wait."

Aethelwyne waved her hand across her face, changing back into the guise of a very pregnant Mica with long brown hair and green eyes. Looking at Taran, still standing in his tight pants and her cloak, she laughed softly. "This will never do! My love, though I do like your 'tight pants' I fear you will draw too much attention if we enter the inn like this." Waving her hand in front of him she gave him the appearance of a tall man with brown hair, blue eyes, and a full set of proper clothes. They made their way to the inn and took a room down the hall from where Aethelwyne felt Elianora's presence. They knocked on the door to her room.

Both Elianora and Salian felt the presences approach at the same time. They both stood, glanced at each other, and frowned. "What's going on here," Salian demanded as Elianora went to the door. She opened it to admit her friend, and Aethel's mate. She embraced Aethe, noting her disguise, and backed into the room.
Salian stood and drew his sword. "What going on?" he repeated. "I thought you had a job for me!"
Elianora turned back to him with grave eyes. "I do. These two need your help." Salian stared at the strangers, then schooled his expression. "Well, then. Let's talk. How can I render my services?"

Aethelwyne and Taran entered the room. Greeting Elianora with a new found smile and happiness about her, she turned and spoke gravely with Salin. "I have a problem and need help. I need someone who can discreetly watch the King. Reporting those who move closest to him to me. We will pay you handsomely for your services."

The King? Galbatorix? Were they insane? No one could get close to the king without being caught and killed. And his daughter--well, she was a menace. Who are these people? He glared at Elianora. Drat her. This is her fault. "I'll think about it," he said coldly. Control yourself, he reminded himself. Remember what you learned all those year ago. He straightened his expression and cleared his voice of emotion. "That depends on when you want me to start." After all, when had he last turned down a job?
And you're the only one who can do it, another voice added.

Aethelwyne suddenly felt very tired. "Salian, Elianora can we please pick this up in the morning? I'm sorry but we have had a very long trip and I grow weary. Salian. I will make it worth your while to help us. Until the morrow."
She let Taran help her out to the hall and back to their room. Once back inside she removed their disguises and laughed as he once again stood before her in his tight pants. "Love, I am sorry but I feel you are still not dressed correctly." Looking into his eyes she wrapped her arms around his waist drawing him close to her. 'I love you!' She cast out once again seeking the presence of the two growing within her. Finding them, she smiled. "Taran, if one part of your vision can be wrong, so can the other right? Sense them again. Your daughter and your son!" Aethelwyne smiled at him. Nothing about their love was ordinary. Seithr women generally bore only females. Her love for him swelled within her.

Nashante camped outside of Dras-Leona. 'She was clever but not clever enough. I knew she would head here but what is she doing. Surely she is not fool enough to go after the King again?' The crow appeared out of the darkness of the night. He had followed since they lighted just outside of the city. Nashante took in the information that it had collected. "Pregnant!? With twins. Well this is interesting. Perhaps I interpreted my vision incorrectly all those years ago." She projected her image to apprise Galbatorix of the news. She sat awaiting his acknowledgment and watched as he still sat with Kalri at his knee. "My Lord, please excuse the intrusion but I have urgent news." She looked to Kalri and back to the King.

Taran wrapped his arms around Aethelwyne's shoulders, slowly dropping them to her waist. Closing his eyes, he reached out with his mind to the two forms growing within her. "Yes, I feel them. A daughter and a son," he smiled, then kissed her softly as he fell atop the bed. "I love you."

"And I you!" She lay with him as he held her gently in his arms. Feeling his breath upon her face. Her happiness filled the small room. 'Fate is not sealed in stone.' She thought as he held her. Softly, she kissed his lips, 'I love you.'

Taran welcomed the kiss, bringing her into himself softly and affectionately. Pulling from the kiss, he looked at the fireplace. "Brisingr," he said, and the logs burst into flame. "Now, since you say I am not properly attired, what would you recommend, my love?"

She no longer needed words. Opening herself to his mind and his heart, she showed him her desire. A gentle blush softly laid upon her cheeks as she softly smiled and looked deeply into his eyes. In the stillness of the night, they celebrated their love and the life they had created...together, as one.

Galbatorix smiled wryly. Yes, Sabonthe was also the only bonded dragon he knew that actually ate people. He found it spectacular. As Kalri complained of her dragon's fetish, Galbatorix released a booming, insane laugh. "Do not fret, my dear. Dragons like to have a little fun once and a while, even if it is with their food." His smile turned slightly dissapointed. "And I too wish we could together bring the land of Alagaesia down. For the both of us be able to destroy Surda. Unfortunately, I must keep you, my perfect little secret, in hiding until the time is ripe. Then, maybe, we can do something together." Galbatorix affectionately wrapped an arm around Kalri's shoulder and kissed the top of her head. Such a devious little girl. She really did take after her father.
Suddenly, the faint crackling of the air announced another presence. Annoyed, Galbatorix let go of Kalri and sat straight. It was Nashante, again. He rolled his eyes. "Really? More urgent news? What a surprise. Well, what is it?" He had no idea what else it could be.

As the sun began to rise over the eastern horizon, Taran rose quietly from bed, careful not to disturb his love. His naked form stood in stark contrast with his surroundings, especially the glowing mark upon his chest. Walking into the wash room, he filled the tub and lowered himself down into it. Laying his head back against the edge, he let his body relax until Aethelwyne awoke or he was needed.

Salian watched the couple leave with little thought. His brain had gone numb from overthinking. He turned to the pretty young woman beside him. "Well. I guess I'll find out everything tomorrow. But where will you stay?" he asked.
Elianora shrugged. "I will look for a room here."
"Not a good idea," Salian countered. "You can sleep in here. You look like you need your rest more than I. And as for me, I don't feel at all tired."
The half-elf hesitated for a moment. "Thank you, young one. But I do not wish to deprive you of a bed."
"Nonsense." Salian stood up and walked to the door. He paused before leaving. "And don't bother paying me." Then he left.
Elianora watched the door for a minute. Then she walked to the bed and lay down, curling up on her side. She closed her eyes and drifted off to sleep.

Kalri looked disappointed at her father. "Does that mean I'm going to have to stay cooped up in the castle again? I was hoping we could have some fun." She heard the faint crackle in the air and turned to see her mother...again. 'What does she want now! She has always been jealous of the time father spends with me.' A sneer curled her lips as she looked at Nashante. Though she was interested in why the witch would be contacting him already.
Nashante had a slight smile on her lips as she spoke. "I bring you priceless information my King. I have tracked the lovers to Dras-Leona. The coven witches are on their way to the city as we speak. We should have one or both of them very soon." The smile spread wider as she prepared to give him her latest intel on them. "Galbatorix. Aethelwyne is with child! Two grow within her. One female, one male" she had the slightest hint of disgust in her voice as she spoke of the male child, "perhaps this could be where her abilities are coming from, as well as the reason for this strange bond of hers." She silently hoped that he would not bring up her prophecy of the twins she had told him of. That would surly be viewed as failure on her part to be of service to him. She awaited his reaction.
********************************************
Aethelwyne reached out in a half-asleep state, feeling for Taran. When she could not find him she immediately woke fully, fearing that the second part of his vision may have come to pass. She sprang from the bed and began looking for him. Her heart quieted when she spied him in the washroom. In skyclad form she went to him. His eyes were closed as his head lay upon the edge of the tub. Quietly, she climbed into the tub with him. She moved with such silence and stealth that she slipped in easily, the water barely moving, without him noticing. Sitting across from him, she leaned forward to whisper in his ear. Her hair falling softly upon his chest. "Good Morning my husband. How did you sleep?"
