Taran began unpacking Adurthil and Doc after they landed, taking their things inside. There were five rooms, two empty, one with a small bed, one with a small sink, and one with cooking supplies. "The bed is small, love. Sorry," he said, smiling at her. "But we can both fit, and we will need to heat anyways."

Salian used Elianora to teleport their things to the cave, and then he told Elianora to stay while he went down to the city. She nodded, and since Soranai was asleep, he left with Torlynden. The dragon flew him to the ground, and then returned to the cave. Let me know when I am needed again.
The slaver entered town with a bulging bag of clothes and a roll of dirty blankets. He managed to find someone who could clean the clothes and blankets, even agreeing to the ridiculous price. He spent the time waiting wandering town. At one point he stopped to admire the towering cathedral.
Once the laundry was done, he returned to the mountain. Elianora and Soranai were still there. "I've brought you clean clothes," he told Elianora. "And I managed to find a couple of cheap mattresses. She nodded vaguely, staring at the wall.
He took the mattresses off Torlynden's back and set them on the ground. Then he spread the blankets on them, and straightened up. "Just so we have a comfortable place to sleep," he said to fill the silence. Torlynden let the cave to hunt again, well, to find something to tear, leaving Salian alone with a broken dragon and a mindless half-elf. He looked at Eli, almost craving conversation.

She smiled at him. "I'm sure we can make do love." She began to unpack their things as she sang softly to herself. Her voice light and melodic, drifted out across the heights on the gentle cold breeze. Her heart full of love, the task was completed very quickly. She took a moment to lie upon the bed and rest. She watched Taran as he busied himself.

Taran went into the kitchen, adjacent to the bedroom, to clean out the cupboards. There was little in them, only a few pots or pans, some bowls, and even fewer plates. When he had finished, he went outside. Using Adurthil's strength to help him, Taran sang a covering for the dragons to lie under to escape the wind and cold. 'There is a hot water spring just behind there," he told Adurthil, showing him a picture in his mind. "You can drink from there. Just wait some time after we have washed, so it can clean itself, before drinking.' Taran went back inside, finding his way through the rooms, cleaning out old or useless things to make way for new ones. "Love, if you wish, there is a hot spring just outside. You can clean and wash there if you'd like," Taran said through the doorway.

Rising from her rest, Aethelwyne smile at Taran. "I would love to clean up. Can you show me where?" she asked gathering her fur and pulling it around her.

Taran smiled. "Of course love." He led her outside, around a few rocks. Just beyond a small bank of rocks, a large hot spring bubbled up to the surface. "There you are my love," he said, kissing her as he passed her by. "I hope you can find your way back. It is extremely far," he teased her.

Aethelwyne laughed at his gentle teasing. "My heart will always find you my love. Even in the darkest night or across the vast wilderness, I will always find my way back to you!" She turned to the spring as he left to go back to the cave. She could feel the heat rising off the spring as she watched the mist slowly rise and dance on the cold air. Removing her fur cloak and her clothes, she proceeded slowly to the spring. Dipping her toe in, she felt the heat from the water as it already began warming her from the brief contact. Slowly she walked into the spring, giving her body time to adjust. Making her way to a ledge beneath the surface of the water, she sat upon it and leaned her head back upon the rockface at the edge. She closed her eyes as she felt the water touching and warming every part of her. Chasing the cold from every recess of her being. She rested in the water as the steam rose. No worries, no cares.

Elianora felt like she was floating in a lake that bridged reality and the nether. Though her spirit, her very essence, was captured, she retained a part of her mind, her ability to think. And all she thought of was the people she loved, including Soranai -- and, even though it hurt, Ferlan. Unfortunately, Soranai couldn't access that part of her mind, so she was alone. Trapped on the water.

Taran went back inside to finish cleaning up the cave. He removed the old logs in the fireplace, dusted off the mattress in the bedroom, rinsed out the sinks in the washroom and kitchen, swept the floors. He was covered in dust, but it only took him half an hour. Walking outside, he headed to the spring with two towels. Taking off his clothes, he stepped in lightly. "Well, the cave is cleaned out," he said, leaning back against the wall near Aethelwyne.

Aethelwyne lost herself in the quiet of the mountain spring. She raised her head as Taran spoke to her. "I am sorry my love. I fear I was not much help in getting things ready." She smiled as he lowered himself into the water.

After a long while, Torlynden hadn't returned. He had found something to tear, though he wouldn't say what, and wouldn't return for awhile. Finally, Salian grew tired of his loneliness and walked over to Elianora. He placed one hand on her cheek and raised her head. Then he withdrew his hold on her.
Elianora shivered as her spirit crossed the bridge to realtiy, landing back within her grasp. She looked up at Salian while Soranai roared with happiness. "You released me?" she asked.
Little one! Oh, I missed you! Soranai placed a strong mental barrier around Elianora's mind, and then a barrier around her spirit. He will not claim you again, she growled. But Nora was too preoccupied with Salian's answer.

Aethelwyne leaned against Taran as they sat in the hot spring. She looked upon the moon and stars and her thoughts drifted to her friend that needed her. Leaning her head back to feel the light of the moon on her face, Aethelwyne reached out to Elianora. Not knowing if her message would be received, she sent it anyway. 'Hang on Elianora. We will find you. I promise my friend.'

Salian shifted uncomfortably. "I was getting tired of the silence. I'm sorry I did that to you."
Elianora nodded. "I understand. You had your duty to your leader to perform. I think that you should keep your promises to your king. Regardless if he is correct." Then Elianora heard Aethelwyne's voice in her head, as if coming from a great distance. Aethe, be careful. Ours is a dangerous foe, she thought.

Taran put her arm around Aethelwyne, feeling her beautiful form on his skin. Leaning his head on hers, he felt the power of the moon well within him. Taking deep breaths, he put that power, that energy, in his very soul. 'Galbatorix will have a nice surprise when we meet again,' he thought.

Aethelwyne felt the moon's power washing over her. She felt Taran's muscular form next to her. She placed her hand on his chest, over his heart. She felt it beating strong under her touch. 'I love you!' She kissed him softly on the cheek.
