Character's name: Galbatorix and Shruikan
Character's age: over a century
Character's attitude: He is cruel and mean, full of hate and insane. His deranged and twisted mind blamed the Riders for the loss of his dragon in the spine when it was actually his arrogance and pride at fault. He seeks power and control of all Alagaesia as he tries to build a new order of Riders under his control. He is also very charismatic when he wants something.
Character's Race: Human/Dragon Rider
Character's appearance: He is rugged, strong, rather handsome in an evil way. His eyes are dark and guarded. He rarely truly smiles. His hair is cropped very short and he usually has stubble on his chin. He wears all black and always has his sword close.
Character's allegiance: Himself, his Empire and himself, power and glory
Weapons: Galbatorix is a formidable Rider and swordsman. He has delved deeply into the black arts, taught by a shade, and uses his knowledge freely to further his own ambitions. His magical strength and abilities continue to grow. His sword has a silver, double-edged blade. The guard and pommel are of gold. The guard consists of two opposing dragon heads with bared teeth and flicking tongues. The black hand-grip is banded in gold. The pommel has the black and gold emblem of a dragon. The scabbard is black leather with gold metal trim.
He has an adopted son, Einar, who he has trained in his ways since his birth and a blood heir, Kalri. Wanting a blood heir he had Mar bring Nashante to him and forcibly, he bedded her and she gave him his heir. He has no feelings for Nashante. She is merely a diversion for him at times. She aligned the assassin coven of seithrs to him to gain his favor so she is just another tool to further his agenda.
History: Galbatorix was tested at an early age and found to have great strength and power. A dragon hatched for him and together they trained at Vroengard. He was a master swordsman and magic user and soon surpassed the other Riders at Vroengard. He travelled into the land of the Urgals with two friends, his foolhardy attitude caused him to believe they were strong enough to protect themselves. Ambushed while they slept, his two friends and their dragons were killed. He slew the Urgals but a stray arrow pierced his dragon, killing her. Driven to madness, he made his way back through the desolate land, through the Spine where a farmer found him and summoned the Dragon Riders who took him back to Vroengard to heal him. He appealed to the council of Doru Areaba, the capital of the Riders, for another egg, but was denied when they saw the madness and desperation of his plea. He blamed them for what had happened. Convincing another Rider to help him with the dark secrets he learned from a Shade, he killed an elder and then the Rider. He fled to the Wastelands and Morzan eventually found him. Being morally weak, Galbatorix talked him into unlocking a gate in the city of Illeria, now Uru’baen, where he stole a black dragon hatchling.
Galbatorix and Morzan waited until their powers had grown and the hatchling, Shruikan was full grown then waged war on the Dragon Riders. During this war, twelve corrupt Dragon Riders joined him and along with Morzan, became the Thirteen Foresworn. Together they destroyed all the other Riders. In the final battle before the gates of Doru Areaba, Vrael the leader of the Dragon Riders defeated Galbatorix but hesitated to kill him. Taking advantage of this, Galbatorix wounded Vrael who fled to Utgard mountain to regain his strength. Galbatorix tracked him down and beheaded him. He made himself King of Alagaesia after infiltrating Uru’baen and killing the rightful King.
Role Play Sample:
Galbatorix sat upon the throne, his fingers drumming upon the golden gilding of the arm. The tendrils of black magic snaked throughout his fingers as he thought. He had secured the male child, Einar from the elf. He would raise the boy as his own and secure his future hold over Alagaesia. Still, he thought, it is wise to have a back up plan, just in case. Summoning Mar, his most trusted procurement specialist and assassin, he directed him to bring Nashante to him, by whatever means necessary. Upon Mar’s return, the High Priestess of the Seithr Coven of Assassins was presented before Galbatorix. Bowing her head slightly she looked at him. “Why do you summon me in this way my King?” She was visibly nervous. He had never had her forcibly brought to him before and there was a madness in his eyes the likes of which she had never seen.
Galbatorix stood from the throne and walked to her. “I have need of something which only you can do.” His words were cold, hard and menacing. He bore down on the witch, grasping her forcibly by the shoulders as he spoke. “You will give me an heir. A blood heir!” Nashante looked into his eyes and saw the madness in them. Swallowing hard she spoke her objection to him. “My lord. I would do anything you asked but I do not want to…” Outraged he cut her off. “You will not deny me. I have given you no choice in the matter!” Taking her forcefully, Galbatorix implanted his seed within her. When finished with her, he summoned the guards to take to her to the quarters he had set up for her.
Under the watchful eye of Mar, Nashante spent her time as a “guest” of the castle. Nine months later, she bore him a daughter. Galbatorix took the child upon her birth and dismissed Nashante to return to the coven. Holding the baby in his arms, he looked down upon the brown haired, brown eyed girl. “My daughter! I name you Kalri. You will be my legacy. A lasting tribute to my vision for Alagaesia!” He smiled as he saw the golden fire dancing in the babe’s eyes and he saw himself, the darkness of his soul lived within her. Smiling, the dark fires danced within his own eyes as he thought. ‘A son and a daughter. The future of Alagaeisa!”
