Character's name: Jason
Character's age: 14
Character's attitude: Jason is a stoic young boy. He tends to be more of an observer than an active partaker of any sort of action. The only time he finds himself leaping into action is when his sister’s life is in danger. It is his sworn duty to protect his twin, and he would do so at the cost of his own life. He has a thirst for knowledge, and while he can wield a sword or bow with proficiency and ease, he prefers books to sparring. He’s fascinated by the way magic does not work correctly for Ismalians. It is his goal to solve the enigma, and so is all in favor to visit Bromsland with his family and search out an answer.
Character's Race: 1/2 Ismalian, 1/4 Alagaesian, and 1/4 elf.
Character's appearance: Jason has the coloring of his mother, that is, auburn hair and light grey eyes. His face beyond that resembles his fathers. He has lean build, already beginning to fill out. He wears traditional Ismalian noble clothing. Rich tunics with crystal accents. These aren’t his favorite clothes. In fact, he prefers hunting garb, which he finds much more comfortable.
Character's allegiance: Neutral (Ismalia).
Weapons: Jason wields a long sword the best, but he carries a dagger around with him to protect Teza Mae.
Other Info: He practices magic secretly. Whether it’s due to his Alagaesian or elf blood, he has been blessed with the ability to wield magic. Of course, he can’t exactly use it correctly, thanks to his Ismalian heritage. But he’s working on that.
History: Jason was born roughly two years after the Empire War. He was born into the world as a prince, and the protector of Teza Mae, his twin born on the same night. Though it would have been normal for he and his sister to be raised by wet nurses, his royal parents, Tenal Ka and Romulus, did most of the rearing. As such, he has much respect and love for his family. He is not jaded, nor does he act spoiled. At an early age Jason was informed of his duty to his sister, and rather than shying away from such a daunting task, embraced the idea. He has been given extensive weaponry training because of that duty, and there had been a time when some of the nobility insist he join the army and live as a soldier scouting the border and guarding empty rooms. Of course, this was just a ploy to get him away from his sister. His mother put a halt to the idea immediately, too smart for tricks. At ten, Jason discovered his magical abilities. He had observed his mother perform magic before, and had gained a sense of it’s purpose and meaning. He tried a simple spell first, and was shocked to find that it worked, in the broken way magic works for Ismalians. Ever since that night, he has been practicing magic secretly. Jason would like to surprise his mother one day by being able to perform a spell flawlessly, for it would mean the end of Ismalian’s being unable to properly control their magic. He is currently preparing to accompany his family and his cousins to Bromsland.
Role Play Sample: Jason scratched at his neck, the tight collar of the noble tunic digging uncomfortably into his throat. It didn’t help that he was wearing a crystal brooch for decoration. “Young Lord, you mustn’t fidget in such a way.” His tutor told him scoldingly. Jason sighed inwardly and let his hand fall back to his side. “That’s better. Now, where were we? Ah yes, how to hold a spoon properly.” Again, Jason gave an inward sigh. Pointless things, a waste of the brain’s valuable space. He could be learning another spell, or how to make a trap for someone trying to sneak into Tezzie’s room, or a countless number of other things. Looking down at the silver spoon, he lifted it off the table and mimicked the way his tutor held the silverware. “Very good!” The tutor exclaimed, and Jason couldn’t help but roll his eyes this time.
