Character's name: Lysette
Character's age: 20
Character's attitude: Lys is calculating, charming, manipulative, cunning, heartless, a little insane, but perfectly lucid. For growing up never knowing a thing about her father, she is eerily like him, nearly identical. Beyond trivial, present desires, the only thing she truly wants is acknowledgement from one individual, although she more often pretends she doesn't even care about that, like everything else.
Character's Race: human
Character's appearance:

Lysette has dark blue/black hair and hazel-gray eyes. Her features render her a nearly beyond elven beauty, and physically she is without a single blemish, belying the horrific personality she possesses. She wears a black middriff top and tight black leggings. The only armor she really wears are bracers, greaves, and shoulder pads, which have the primary function of not protecting her, but housing her nearly thousands of tiny weapons.
Character's allegiance: Shade Uprising
Weapons: Lys has hundred upon hundreds of various sized knives, from needle-like darts to shivs to a couple of decently-sized daggers. She has the ability to use magic, but more or less ignores it because she refuses to be taught the art by anyone.
Other Info: Though her allegiance belongs to Katriana, Lysette does not follow her for the sake of following her. Rather, she joined because she knows the spirit of the man she desires to meet resides there.
History:
Lysette was born to a common but beautiful woman in the town of Gil'ead. When she was old enough, she asked who her father was. Her mother replied that she didn't know, as she only met him once and never saw him after that. For the most part, Lys just forgot about it, knowing she didn't need any man to grow up.
Try as she might to deny it however, there was a level of longing in her heart, not to be loved by this man, not even to be remotely cared for, but to be simply acknowledged. She knew that because he had only seen and slept with her mother once, he would never know, nor likely care, that he had a daughter. And something drove Lysette to be known by this man, acknowledged as the fruit of his seemingly careless actions.
Although her mother provided her with all the love and care she could ever ask for, Lysette was quickly evidenced as a problem child. She refused to play nice with the other kids, often bullying them and daring them to do idiotic and often dangerous things. She would manipulate others to do whatever she wanted.
When her magical abilities manifested themselves, Lys was taken to a school set up by what used to be Du Vrangr Gata, in order to teach her how to control and use her power to the best of her abilities. Whenever she turned sixteen, she along with any other children from the school would swear their loyalty to Nasuada. However, Lys showed very little interest in expanding her magical practices, instead focusing on an optional training in weapons. She learned how to be a perfect aim with throwing knives and was deadly in close-quarters combat even against experienced swordsmen.
When she was ten, she fled from the school, refusing to be enslaved to that place any longer. She refused to swear her loyalty to anyone, prefering to live on her own. And she had refused to really learn how to use magic, secretly desiring to learn the art from her estranged father, if from anyone at all.
At this point, she began her search for him. Though she really cared for nothing else, something she couldn't explain drove her to find the man. At first, her search seemed to lead her to a dead end. She learned that he had been killed years ago. One might think that since she had devoted so much time in searching for him, she might be heartbroken to find her quest ended in such an abrupt manner. However, she didn't shed a single tear, nor did she express any emotion whatsoever. She just continued to live as she would.
In blooming into maturity, she found she could have an indescribable allure toward men, and found new ways to received whatever she desired, making promises she would only occasionally deliver upon. Men who thought she loved them often found themselves shocked by a knife in the gut and a strange smile on her face. Though none could quite identify her, she became known as a Black Widow, as any potential mate ended up dead.
Recently, she's caught onto rumors that her father's spirit has returned, in the form of a Shade. Her hunt for him has lead her to Katriana's army. Although she has promised fealty to the Shade Rider, she really couldn't care less who came out victorious in the coming conflict. All she really wants is acknowledgement from her father, although she wants him to notice her first, rather than tell him herself.
Role Play Sample:
"Do you love me?" the man whose arms she was lying in asked her, stroking her bare back gently. Lysette withheld a groan--why couldn't he just let her sleep?
"Of course," she mumbled into his chest. She didn't bother opening her eyes, trying to go into that unconscious state of rest.
"Promise me, Lys," he said, looking down at her. It crossed her mind that he probably hadn't told his wife he loved her in a while. Men were such fickle creatures. That's why she never had interest in spending much time with a single one.
Knowing she wasn't going to get any rest tonight, she inwardly sighed, opened her eyes, and put her lips against his, not saying any words. Let him interpret this as sealing her promise with a kiss. Probably the weakest seal in existence. It seemed to shut him up, though.
What was love, she wondered. Nearly everyone she met who claimed to have it seemed to betray it very quickly. It seemed such a fickle, worthless thing to her. She didn't need love. She needed nothing. Nothing but the acknowledgment from one man. And that man was not this one.
