Rider
[/b][/center]Your username: Phalanx
Character's name: Asnek
Character's age: 17
Character's attitude:
Asnek is often a more relaxed person, sharing unique personality traits with the dragon (Avalanche) he is bonded too, fancying jokes and sarcasm often, though almost usually in a joking matter. He is down to earth and extremely calm. When Asnek is irritated or frustrated, he tends to have a short anger on a leash that he can’t control be himself. With powerful suppression from his dragon, he tends to control his anger significantly more. Asnek is respectful to everyone unless he’s been disrespected, but make no mistake he will not tolerate disrespect to him, his dragon or his family. He considers all dragons, be they bonded or not, family. He considers dragons and their rider family, and he considered Eragon and Saphira his father, despite his real dad evermore present.
Character's Race: Human
Character's appearance: From a family with muscular heredity, Asnek is well built – He supports larger than average arms and legs, with a wide and muscular chest... though, during his childhood he was rather lazy. He has an ale (beer) belly, though it doesn’t bother him. He has a scar down the right side of his face from his eye to cheek bone he received by playing around with Avalanche a little too rough when he was just a dragon hatchling. Despite all the magic available to him with the teaching of the ancient word from Eragon, he refuses to mend his scar, saying ‘it’s a reminder to whom I am bonded too. Avalanche has one just like this.”
Character's allegiance: Dragon Riders
Weapons:
Frost: Frost is a brightsteel forged sword, a color of pure white like his dragon. It’s not silver, but pure white. If he were to drop it in snow, he’d lose it. Frost has no magical abilities, as the Ancient Word for “Cold” or “Frozen” has still yet to be learned.
Shield of the White: This shield is a pure white iron shield with wooden trims around the top to lodge axes, swords and maces into the woodworking.
Armor of the White: This armor was specially created by Avalanche and Asnek. Avalanche provided multiple hard as rock, sharp and pure white dragon scales to be woven into the chain linked armor that lay beneath. It is their greatest accomplishment so far, showing how good their team work really is. Unfortunately, this is only a chest piece.
Long-Bow: This wooden longbow is thicker in the middle, curving thinner at the top to allow a greater draw. The wire its-self is tightly strung in tune with Asnek's bigger build, making the distance greater and raising its stopping power slightly.
Quiver of Arrows: Fifty standard arrows rest in a lether pouce on Asnek's back.
Other Info:
Gender: Male
Height: 6’3
Weight: 210 LBs.
Family: Three brothers, one sister, mother and father.
Pets: Two family dogs, a family hawk.

Dragon
Character's name: Avalanche
Character's age: 8 Months
Character's attitude: Avalanche is a proud being, she is more than pleased that she was born as a dragon, and bonded with a human who shares much of the same attitude and personality as she does. Avalanche is a more cautious dragon, though her instincts still propel her into being aggressive and, well, protective as well. She has many unique qualities that make Asnek and herself whole, such as her ability to be comforting and concerning. She often councils, supports and comforts Asnek, much like Saphira does for her own rider, Eragon. During their youth, they got used to snuggling with each-other. Avalanche will refuse to sleep unless Asnek is by her side. She acquired a scar on her noise, hidden underneath her snouts scales.
Character's Race: Dragon
Character's appearance: She looks like any other dragon, but pure white.
Character's allegiance: Dragon Riders
Weapons:
Body: Teeth, tail, talons, claws, spikes, scales and everything available to her. She is a dragon, after all.
Fire: She is at an appropriate age where she can breathe fire.
History:
At the age of 16, Asnek was presented an egg from Eragon and Saphira. He had dreamed all his life, since his birth when the war against Galbatorix was just ending, to be bonded with a dragon from the stories that have aged properly. He got his chance, when a white egg hatched for him. Pleased, he was instantly glued to the dragon and praised the creature not as a pet, but as another being in general, treating it as a complete equal, or above himself.
Asnek would play around with the dragon every day, the games getting more and more physical as the dragon grew. One day, when Avalanche was a month and a half old and at his shoulder height, they played an extremely physical game of, childishly, tag. Avalanche cut Asnek near the eye, scaring him from the eye to check bone while Avalanche lost dozens of snout scales and acquired a scar of her own, in the tip of her noise.
They agreed to be calmer with each other after that, but continued to play around with each other when not training with Eragon or Saphira, as they were both old enough to begin instruction now. On the eve of a winter night, Asnek; who was now seventeen, asked Avalanche if she wanted to go to the Spine, as she had shown interest in Saphira’s home she grew up around, the forest.
Eragon and Sahpira politely rejected their request, saying that they’ve put the old memories behind them. Thus, Asnek and Avalanche respected their elders and flew around for hours in the air, circling the home in which they were housed.
Role Play Sample:
Avalanche swooped down from the parch she was resting on, ready to strike at a moments notice. Her rider was somewhere, but where? She could cheat and use the mental connection between themselves to find one another, but this was a game and cheating were for those who can't win by themselves. She scanned the trees in front of her, looking for any movement. Asnek was doing well by shielding his mind from her, she couldn't detect him at all.
You're clever, I'll give you that... She said smugly. She could sense his amusement and was about to lock onto his location when he cut the connection. She snorted, twin plumes of fire shooting out of her nostrils. Asnek was good at this game, and even her advantage in the air he was still undetectable.
Give up? He asked, then cut the mental connection again. Of course, he could still hear her thoughts but she couldn't find him. Asnek was hiding in a bush, and as she passed over it was right below her, and she still hadn't seen the bare foot hanging out from the plant.
I've been searching for hours, yes, I give up.
Look below.
No... I refuse to acknowledge you were there.
Asnek smiled fiercly, his eyes lighting up like a christmas tree. Pure joy radiated from him, and in turn seeped into Avalanche. She tilted to the left and dived down, flashed her wings and smoothly landed on the ground. She walked over to him, stared at his eyes with her own, large white and black eye, and then moved into a position so she stood right beside him. She shifted her position so she could and did, place a talon on him. Asnek swore as he figured out what she was going to do, and she did. Avalanche sent him flying five meters with a solid push.
He rolled to his feet and charged at his dragon. She tenced as he sprinted forward. She sidestepped easily and took his feet out with her tail, sending Asnek sprawling onto his back. Clever... I have taught you well! He mused, rolled and returned to an upright stance. This time, he casually walked over. Avalanche loosened and allowed him to get near. He placed one of his hands on her shoulder and rubbed for a moment, before releasing.
He walked over to the trees and slipped behind one, leaning on the bark. He felt a questioning thought from Avalanche enter his mind, which made him grin. She realized what he had done and let out a satisfactory growl, sending a jet of flame into the air. He smiled, you're it..
I suppose so. No more hiding! She replied. Asnek didn't even notice, and when he did it was to late. He felt the hot breath down his neck and attempted to dodge. A talong struck near his eye and slid down towards his cheek bone.
Ah! He screamed, clutching the wound. He dropped to the ground and grabbed some snow, and covered the wound. It quickly turned red. Avalanche howled, gripped the tree with her jaws and pulled it free. She threw it to the side, a branch scraping her snout, gorging a rather deep wound. She didn't care, she had hurt her rider.
She crouched low beside him and extended one of her wings to comfort Asnek. He dropped his hands and grabbed more snow, a steady stream of blood caking his face in red, dripping onto his cloths and making the snow look like a small battle had played out.
I'm sorry! She said quickly, as she shifted so she could lay beside him. He walked over and placed his clean hand on her shoulder. She swung her head around and nuzzled him on his shoulder.
It's all right. I think the bleeding is stopping anyways. He said, sitting down. He leaned his back against Avalanches warm belly. She begun to hum, but remained watching with her large white eyes. He could feel her concern flowing into him. He noticed blood on the top of her noise and realized that, perhaps, tag wasn't the best game to be playing.
I wish I knew the healing spell... He admitted, but for now, they'd just have to rely on their bodies to heal the wounds themselves. Avalanche snorted and lay her head down beside Asnek. He removed his clean hand from her shoulder and started rubbing her jaw.
I'm sorry. She said again, fixing one of her eyes onto him. He shook his head.
Don't worry about it, Avalanche. It's all right, I understand it was an accident. They tend to happen. I'm not mad. He said, trying to comfort his dragon. He could feel how sorry she actually was. Saddness pulsed through her with every beat of her massive heart.
It's all right... He assured. Avalanche lifted her head away and looked at the destroyed tree. She sent him a image of Eragon and Saphira understanding the situation. He nodded in agreement.
