Jason lied down checking the amount of security after all a lot can change in three years he looked out almost nothing had changed he felt a small tug at his mind recognizing it as the Werecat's he let him in "human what are you thinking? You know if you turn yourself in they are just going to lock you up. If that happens..." "If that happens I'll just escape. You know master taught me well there is only one location that could hold me and they wouldn't risk it." Jason thought reassuring him. standing up Jason took off his cloak and started to walk up to the front gate. once he was at the door he shouted. "RIDERS! MY NAME IS JASON LET ME IN." He sat down outside of the front gate and started waiting for a response. If they recognized his name they would descend on him as a thief. If not they would welcome him in as a person who came to either see or learn of the riders themselves. That's when Jason realized his hands were shaking all of his senses told him to run, hide, disappear the thought of being caught was the worst thing that could happen to him. clenching his hands Jason took a deep breath and tried to calm himself. He knew he needed the riders help to take out the black hand who killed Master and he had some plans, but they all required either him having a dragon or the riders helping him out. The werecat's mind slammed into him "Your mad to think that this will work you go in your on your own." That was the last time he felt his mind, must have gone back to the ship.

Neona sat on the front terrace overlooking the garden which spanned across left side of the front courtyard. The whole courtyard was surrounded by tall fortified stone walls covered in flowering and fruit producing vines. Now and then she would peak up from her scroll that she had borrowed from the riders library and watched her grandson play in the garden.
Dubhan liked playing in the garden, he had made up many games like jumping walking along the narrow stones one foot in front of the other like a tight rope and pretending the floor was made our of lava but these games could only entertain an eight year old boy for so long. Dubhan had already gotten in trouble for breaking a window by accident and for disrupting riders classes so he wasn't aloud to play inside anymore or on the riders training grounds.
Dubhan steped down from the rock bored of his game, playing games only made him forget about missing his parents for so long. Dubhan sat down on the rock and looked down at the dirt.
Neona looked up noticing Dubhan had stopped playing his game, wondering if he was hungry or tired she rolled up her scroll and placed it in her bag that she threw over her shoulder before heading down the stairs and into the garden where her grandson sat. "hay Dubhan are you hungry?" she asked kneeling down next to him and running her hand through his scruffy black hair
Dubhan looked up at his grandmother "When is mum coming back and can we try to scry dad again? I miss them."
Neona leaned in and hugged him tightly "oh Dubhan, so do i" she said sadly "she got a very important job to do, i don't.." as she was speaking she heard banging coming from outside the walls and a muffled voice. "Dubhan go up to the terrace and wait for me"
Dubhan hugged his grandmother back. he looked into her eyes waiting for a response, an answer to his questions, he only got half of it before he heard aloud noise. Dubhan listened to his grandmother but as he ran towards the steps curiosity caught him and he stopped short deciding to hide behind a flowering bush instead.
Neona cautiously made it to the front gates putting defensive spells on Dubhan and herself as she walked. Slowly she slid back the viewing latch, finding a young man sitting down in front of the door.
"What Business do you have here Jason? The riders are quite busy at the moment with the Shade war." Neona replied back, her eyebrows knitted together trying to work out if his yelling was due to ruddiness or urgency could he be injured? was he a messenger? a friend or perhaps a foe?

Jason stood up almost immediately and started to size her up like a mark. Her eyebrows knitted showing suspicion her voice showed curiosity and concern not a bad start. Now to get her to let him in, taking deep breaths to hide deception he said, "ma'am sorry for yelling but I have information that could be useful to the riders, if you just let me in I can explain everything." This let it up to her if she chose to let him in then he could talk to the riders about the con If not then he would have to rely on an old strategy of playing it by ear.
As a back up plan Jason started to set up his mental blocks which included laying out a path he wanted the riders to follow, to do this he cleared out any memory of his past jobs/cons then he put up a good memory of a civilian working in the fields, the death of his master..no his mother, his finding out about the shade and the black hand, and finally his trip out to the riders city New Doru Arabea. After making sure his mind was set then he placed his stray thoughts such as his training and heists behind a mental blocking wall. After making sure he was ready he took a step back almost praying that he be let in.

Neona's expression slowly relaxed as she listened to what Jason had to say. She took a long moment after he had finished to gather her thoughts as she watched the young man through the rather small viewing hole in the gate. While he claimed to have information for the riders she couldn't afford to take the risk permitting a stranger entry as a guest of the riders. She extended her mind over to the direction of where Dubhan was hiding. "can you do me a big favour Dubhan? and go find one of the Elder riders and let them know that some one has arrived."
Dubhan peeked out of the bush he was hiding behind as his grandmother looked over at him asking for the favour. He simply nodded in reply happy to help his grandmother and happy that she had given him such an important task.
Neona watched her grandson dart off into the castle before she turned back her attention to the newcomer Jason. "Im sorry Jason, I do not have authority to let you into the grounds, however a rider should be with us shortly to asses you and the information you have." she said with sincerity in her voice.
Dubhan ran down the corridor and up a spiral staircase knowing where the riders offices were, the wing of the castle his Mother and Grandmother had specifically told him he was not aloud to explore, for obvious reasons. Dubhan slowed down as he reached the top of the stair case a little out of breath. He rounded the corner and knocked on the first door he saw hopping some one would be there so he could deliver the message like his grandmother asked him to.

Vana looked up sharply, glaring at the oaken door that led to and from her office. A scroll held open by egg shaped paperweights sat on her desk. The old parchment was brown and musty, but it was supposed to hold important information about dealing with wild dragons. Of course, Viel had foraged into the wild dragon territory oft enough to gain ample amounts of information. Still, it wouldn't hurt to see what the real ancients said about them. Pushing away from her sturdy pine desk, Vana stood and strolled to the door. She was armored as usual, ever ready for battle. It was an old habit that she found hard to dispel. She pulled the door open and frowned when she didn't see anyone before her. The sound of screeching metal was heard as she clenched her fist. It was only when she was about to close the door that she looked down and found a child standing before her. Anger wrestled with her desire to remain calm.
"Child, what are you doing here? This is no place for the likes of you." Vana tossed her long blonde hair behind her shoulder, and raised a no nonsense eyebrow at the lad. It was the height of disorder to let children intrude on the important business of the dragon riders. Viel, I may have need of you. she said, but the garnett dragon was already circling in the sky nearby. It was always best to keep close together.

Dubhan was waiting patiently with a smile on his face, proud that he had been trusted to do something that was important. While most would think of message carrying a remedial task Dubhan was young and found enjoyment out of helping others and feeling needed. When the door opened Dubhan felt like butterflies had started flying around in his stomach, he did not know the armoured woman that answered the door but he still maintained his smile and continued to look up at her with his big blue eyes. After second passed he realised she had not noticed him standing out side the door. He began to open his mouth as if to start speaking hoping to get her attention but only a small noise came out before her gaze met his. His smile faded instantly when the rider began to speak to him, his expression tensed afraid he was going to get in big trouble for bothering this rider. Dubhan took a step backwards from the doorway averting his eyes, intimidated by the riders words. Dubhan looked back up wide eyed at the woman who towered over him speechless at first. It took him a while to remember his purpose for coming and knocking on the door in the first place but once he did he managed to pluck up the courage to speak. "S-Sorry to bother you.. ms rider" said bowing remembering that his parents always taught him to be polite. "My name is Dubhan, my grandmother sent me to find a rider because here is a stranger at the gate." his confidence slowly returning with each word. Dubhan hoped that she would not decided to feed him to her dragon.

Vana took a calming breath. Where the dragon riders who were supposed to be guarding the gates!? Someone would need to be punished for this. "It's ok, child. Go back to your grandmother, I will be there shortly. Tell her she has my thanks for guarding the gate in stead of the riders." Taking a quick peek inside of the boys mind, Vana easily found out who his grandmother, and subsequently his mother, was. Reaching behind her door, she acquired her blood red cloak and swept it around her shoulders. She would need to represent the splendor of the dragon rider order since no one else could. ~~~
Vana found Viel outside on the wide paved street. With one nimble leap she soared into the sky and landed on her dragons back. In the sunlight Viel's scales shone a blackish red, like dried blood. The rich color shifted depending on the sunlight, but the best way to describe it was based on the gem, the garnet. It was a short flight to where their guest awaited, so Vana need not bother with strapping herself to the saddle. Instead she hugged the massive neck spike in front of her when her bond leaped into the air. The bracing wind cooled Vana's temper and allowed her to think rationally. The dragon riders had grown to a numerous number since the fall of Galbatorix, the man she used to call king. However, with the new and unprepared for threat of a shade rider and her army, the new generation was spread thin. Perhaps New Doru Arabea could enlist the help of elves to guard the gates. Dwarves were to greedy, otherwise they might do as well. Humans... well, they were weak and easily persuaded, no good for guarding.
Soon they reached the gate where the man waited. Viel sped in towards the stranger, scales flashing in the sun as she shifted to a dive. The immense dragon landed with a ground shaking thud behind the fellow, enough to make any normal mans knees buckle. The dragon fanned her wings and hissed at him in warning. With ease Vana dismounted, her cloak a red waterfall behind her. "What is your business here, stranger." She asked, already bored. "You've come a very long way if it is just shelter you seek."

Jason felt something an urge to look up when he did he saw it a dragon and rider in a full dive coming right at him the dragon landed near him the shock almost knocked him over but he stood as best as he could flexing his knees to allow the force. when she spoke to him he felt the feeling of fear again she was asking for his information he took a deep breath to calm his nerves "forget it."he thought to himself if this is how it happens it happens he opened up his mind and spoke up looking the rider in the eye,
"Rider my name is Jason and here is the situation, there is a compound out on the south eastern outskirts of the Hadrac Desert where a shade has enlisted the help of the Black hand there goal is simple to kidnap children, orphans mostley capable of being dragon riders train them and corrupt them as soon as they become riders in effect making shade riders."
Jason just let that much sink in before he said his plan, " My plan is to rescue the children but in order to do that we need the riders help. The children are considered expendable to the shade and they wont hesitate to kill the children so in order to help the children we need to distract the shade and raid the entire complex. It can't be accomplished alone If we can just get at least one rider we can reduce the collateral damage."
To drive the point home he put all the information in the front of his head all the blueprints, the complete plan including the part to which he needed a rider in the first place. Now he gave out his credentials all his training his heists everything when she read his mind she would see not just a plan and a thief capable of following through with it, not a civilian ho just came up with it in a moment after hearing it in a barroom conversation.
He said hat he had to say now it was up to the rider. Everything his life, the plan, even the fate of the children, was up to the rider. He waited for her response.

OOC: Considering Melantha and Vana where both riders for Galbatorix for a certain period i would think that there might be some history between the two of them worth exploring.
Dubhan watched, listened and fidgeted with his hands as the rider spoke, feeling at little more at ease this time realising she wasn't as scary as he first thought. Distracted by a number of things the tinny pinch that he felt in his mind went unnoticed. "Okay" Dubhan said nodding happily glad to not be dragon food. He turned to leave before she could change her mind then realised he had forgotten his manners "Thank you Ms Rider" the boy said before bounding off into the direction he had come as fast as his feet would go.
~
Neona paced behind the gate as she waited. A sigh of relife escaped her lips as she spotted her grandson running towards her "Slow down." she warned worried he would fall.
"Sh-shes come-ing" Dubhan said panting.
"Who's coming?" Neona asked curious as to which rider dubhan had found.
Trying to catch his breath Dubhan looked up from his bent position and shrugged realising he had not got the riders name.
Neona put a hand on his shoulder and waited for him to catch his breath.
"She- she said to tell you thank you" Dubhan reported looking up at his grandmother, as he did he noticed a red dragon fly over head and he pointed his finger towards the sky.
Neona smiled "Well done, Dubhan" she praised. As she turned her head towards where Dubhan was pointing she saw a red shape fly over the gate. Satisfied that there was not much else she could do she turned back to her grandson "come on lets go get some lunch, i bet your hungry."
Dubhan nodded agreeing that he was hungry and that what his grandmother had suggested was a very good idea.
The two began to head off into the direction of the castle and more importantly the kitchen and dining area when Neona realised she had forgotten to close the peep hole in the gate. Neona stopped and turned to Dubhan "you go ahead i'll just be a minute" she said turning back around to the gate.
Dubhan nodded silently and continued on in the direction he was headed looking forward to a good lunch.
As she approached the gate she heard the voice of the rider speak the woman followed by Jason's reply. Horrified she suppressed a gasp Neona stopped dead in her tracks with her hand hanging in mid air reaching out for the latch.

Vana was having a hard time feeling the apparent dire situation of these orphan children. She followed what this Jason said well enough, and helped herself to his mind, which seemed all too willing to let her in. His truth was evident, and she did feel sorry for the orphaned children. However, her decision now was to rescue them, or to forget them. "I have a few choices, sir." she said, and clasped her hands behind her back. Viel crouched down behind Vana, staring unblinkingly at the man. "My first choice would be to inform my comrades of this situation and make sure that none of these children are ever permitted into New Doru Arabea, and therefore never allowed to touch a dragon egg. That would efficiently eliminate the risk of any dragon riders turning against us." Vana paused to let that sink in.
"The second option may be more to your likeing, I'm sure. Rescue the children and bring them here. However, there is a flaw with that plan. We cannot bring every orphan into New Doru Arabea. As you know there is a war being raged and we dragon riders have more important business than babysitting. Fortunately for you, I happen to know somebody who loves orphans." A fleeting image of a dragon rider named Elaine crossed Vana's mind. A former adversary, now ally. Strange how the world worked. This particular rider had set up a large orphanage after the empire war. Vana knew that Elaine was in contact with New Doru Arabea frequently. It would be no problem to scry Elaine and inform her that she would be getting a sudden influx of homeless children. Elaine would no doubt allow them into her home.
"Since I am feeling sympathetic today, Jason, I will gather a small group of riders to aid me in rescuing these children. You will be coming with us." Quickly Vana thought of the riders she would select. Melantha and Andromeda, Stefan and Jueru, and Elaine and Eridor. "Do you have any objections before we step inside to put this rescue into motion?"

Jason heard out the riders options the first one was a temporary plan but enforcing it would require a master mind reader to get in their heads twenty four seven and they would have to screen each and every entry. The second option to relocate them was nice but the person too collect them would have to be able to handle multiple children with some covert military training.
Then he started to think of a third option the security seemed pretty lax around the parapets he first thought that it was because of the intimidation factor after all who would attack the riders. But he then realized that the guards must have been working to handle the situation with the shades. Just maybe these kids could be given a purpose.
Jason felt his stomach growl realizing that he hadn't eaten anything since landing he was feeling hungry patting his stomach he told her. "We can pan out the details, but first I need to get something to eat if we can do that."

occ: this post is pretty bad.. oh well ***Skip*** Neona spotted her grandson in the dining hall sitting at one of the vacant tables at the back. She made her way over to him and set the two pates of food down on the table as she took a seat herself.
Dubhan looked up as his grandmother brought over their lunch, an assortment of fruit vegetables and nuts. realising he had never seen a plate of meat in the hall ever "don't these people ever eat meat?" Dubhan asked thinking aloud.
Neona looked at the boys face "Elves don't eat meat and the riders follow that custom." trying to answer his question the best she could
Dubhan frowned finding the answer puzzling "But mum and dad eat meat at home, and what about the dragons?" he questioned pushing his food around on the plate with his fork.
Neona Smiled not sure of the answer her self "I- thats a good point, I don't really know Dubhan, im sure some dragons eat like their riders but then dragons need meat to fill their big bellies, just like little boys should eat their lunch to grow big and strong." picking up her fork while making sure dubhan was eating form the corner of her eye.

(ooc: I think it might be intresting if my guy gets recognized by the dragon who found him out three years ago I left it open so any rider would work.)
Jason pushed on the door it was still locked. Which meant there was no-one going to let them in, this also meant that the only way in was by air. Looking at the dragon still glaring at him showed Jason that was a lost cause. Jason went back to get his cloak and he found his gear werecat must have left it near his cloak as a dead drop, he grabbed his gear and put it on. heading back to the door making sure he was ready now he turned to the rider and said, "well rider after you." and he motioned his hand to the door.
