Character's allegiance: (Shade Uprising, Dragon Rider’s, or Neutral)
His friends and family
The Spirit of Cyne in Letholdus hates magic and it's users, especially Shades and that reflects in Letholdus some, but he can also sympathize with them in a strange way.
Weapons: (What does your character use for battles, protection, etc.)
Fire, the Lion's Fang (hand-and-a-half sword made with a touch of Brightsteel), fat kite shield with top right corner cut out and a gold lion on a carmine (dark red) and black colored background, dagger, Lion's Claw throwing knives, rock.
Armor: Sort of barbute style helmet, steel pauldrons, gorget vambraces, simple gauntlets, greaves, thick leather cuisses, light sabatons and brigandine for the torso, but occasionally a cuirass, and always with leather faulds with small plates riveted on.
Other Info: Place anything else that you think is important about your character here, perhaps if they have a pet or something.
All will be explained in the history.
Fronar is a butcher, so Letholdus is especially comfortable with blades and throwing knives, which Fronar taught Letholdus how to use.
History: (At least 10 sentences.)
(This will be more brief than I'd like; ask my character and I may tell you the rest of either half.) Generations ago, a wicked Shade was able to trick Letholdus's forefather, Aldwith. The Shade told the father that he would make him strong and poweful, able to obtain the money and power to take care of his poor children, Cyne and Neke, his oldest; his oldest daughter, Munda; middle son, Daege; youngest daughter, Gurdie, and youngest son, Limi, all of which he had with his late wife, Edith. For a time, the father was happy and the family had everything they needed. When the Shade came to claim it's own prize, Aldwith could not pay it, so the Shade demanded that he pay with his and his family's lives. The Shade murdered Aldwith and his five eldest children with his sorcereries, each with a different element, fire, water, earth, air, light, and dark. Before he could put down the last child, the energies of his now dead family, bound to the magic used to kill them, rushed into the child's body, allowing him to kill the Shade first.
Another few generations later, Aldwith's ancestors were found in financial trouble again. When the Elders of the tribe decided to form a mercenary company. They eventually were able to fair well and gain a lot of respect, power and money. They were a force to be reckoned with. But eventually conflict stopped, and they were out if a job again, though they were able to rally and come back better than before. The Company no longer fought, but the traditions and such stayed with them forever.
Role Play Sample: (At least 10 good sentences.)
Letho, Ilo, Kiy and Tailden began the trek from Urû'baen to Teirm about a week ago, though they had lost track within a few hours, focusing only on getting to their destination as quickly as possible. Just as the Spine began coming into view, the small group found themselves confronted by a group of Urgals with what appeared to be two Kull leading the rest.
"Well, then." Kiy said. "This will surely slow down our progress, won't it?" They were about a hundred yards away, sitting on the other side of the path and up a ways, armed for battle.
"It certainly will," sighed Letholdus."
"What happened to peace with the Urgals?" Tailden nocked an arrow.
Ilowëa did the same as Letholdus drew the Lion's Fang and raised his shield, forming a small barrier with his Shield-Brother Kiyrindri's shield to Letholdus' left.
"This is not a good place for this. We will get flanked and over-run before we can take down those Kull alone," an unoptimistic Tailden stated. "Any plan?"
"There's no way we can outlast those Kull, or even keep away from them for longer than a few moments and that would just put us farther away from Teirm. Assuming one Kull rushes either side, we both aim for the Kull on the left first. They will be the first on us if we don't," Ilowëa thought aloud.
"Kiy and I could incinerate the one to the right," proposed Letholdus, which only got himself a small nod from the other three.
While the fight would be short with either end result no faster than the other, the Urgralgra performed their death chant anyway. Letholdus supposed it was a scare tactic, but it longer phased him, even though the thought of death still did on it's own.
The Urgals finished and immediately jumped into a dead run. Ilowëa and Tailden launched their arrows into Kull flesh as quicly as they could nock and draw them. Once the second Kull was in range he quickly was felled, allowing focus to shift to the remaining Urgals.
Though there weren't many to begin with, only a handful were able to feel the bite and poke of sword and spear and were chopped down to a more manageable size using leg cuts with the archers assisting with the final blows. Luckily steel met steel but a few times allowing for no error and no injuries to the four friends.
Tailden, Ilowëa, Kiyrindri and Letholdus were able to make decent time after their run in with the Urgals and made it to begin their business in Teirm without any other major delays.
