Oh, why not? It's been a while since I made a character.
Your username: Jeriah/Tismri
Character's name: Kali and Mari
Character's age: Both 117
Character's attitude: Kali is upbeat, positive, energetic, and enthusiastic. She nearly always tries to make the best out of any situation, although there are occasions when she can't help but complain. Mari is more calm, level-headed, and realistic. She tries to temper Kali's imagination before she gets herself hurt, but doesn't always mind when she gets dragged into some crazy adventure. Despite her more serious nature, Mari has a sense of humor; she's known to make puns that drive Kali insane.
Character's Race: elf
Character's appearance: Kali has long black hair that reaches below her waist; it is held back with a large black bow, and wears a large pink hair ornament. She wears a black tunic with pink embroidery, pink leggings, and black boots. Mari has long silver hair that she keeps pinned up in a bun behind her head, and wears a large green hair ornament. She wears a black tunic with green embroidery, green leggings, and black boots. Both of them have golden eyes.
Character's allegiance: Dragon Riders, Queen Arya
Weapons: They are both competent in most common weapon classes, but Kali prefers a longsword while Mari prefers a bow. They are both armed with small daggers in nearly every situation. They can both use some magic, but are very limited in their abilities. They are very talented in stealth and recon, and work extremely well together.
Other Info: They are cousins born within weeks of each other, and very accomplished singers among the elven community.
History: Kali and Mari were born in Silthrim within a very short time to each other; Kali's father and Mari's mother are siblings. Due to both being family and very close in age, they grew up together and were best friends. Their grandfather was one of the elder Riders in Vroengard who was killed, along with his dragon, during Galbatorix's uprising. As such, they trained most of their lives in battling, knowing that they would one day be called to fight against the tyrant.
However, war was nothing the only thing they were brought up to accomplish. Early on in their lives, they were both remarkable singers, and together their voices became more beautiful and magical than any single elven voice alone. The two of them sang all throughout Du Weldenvarden to bring peace and soothe souls of elves who were still angry and mourning the Fall.
They both distinguished themselves spectacularly when the elves joined in the war against Galbatorix, and were relied upon as messengers as well as recon for Islanzadi. Due to Galbatorix's manipulation of the ancient language within the walls of Uru'baen, the fact that the pair of them relied very little on magic led to them being some of the most valuable soldiers in that battle.
In the years since the end of the war, the pair have traveled throughout most of Alagaesia, continuing their singing career to soothe the hearts, minds, and souls of the people who lost so much over the past century. But with the Shade Uprising, their war skills have become necessary once again. Throughout their entire lives, the pair has rarely been seen parted.
Role Play Sample:
Kali surveyed the damage of the destroyed village, the flattened, smoldering buildings little more than piles of ashes. The enemy seemed to have retreated after causing the destruction, a tactic they had employed since the start of their campaign. She knelt and brushed her fingers against the blood that had darkened the pale dirt. Thankfully, most of the townsfolk had managed to flee, a fact that she reminded herself of with images of children hugging their parents once they reached safety.
But any loss of life is a tragedy, Mari told her from her perch on top of one of the few standing structures left. The whole thing was swaying precariously, and she was ready to leap off at any moment. In her mind, she was still seeing the bodies of those they had been too late to save, the ones they had only just finished burying.
You can't keep dwelling on stuff like that, Kali insisted, standing to leave the ruins of the town. Every life saved is a victory. Mari joined her cousin on the ground just as the building she was standing on collapsed to the ground in a cloud of soot. She glanced back at its remains, and allowed Kali's positivity to rub off on her a little.
"I suppose you could call this a dirty job," she commented, giving Kali a sly smile. The raven-haired elf rolled her eyes with an exasperated groan.
***
"And no matter what life brings,"
"And no matter what you do,"
"May joy and peace always follow you."
The pair allowed their final note to fade away while the gathered people applauded them, some with tears in their eyes and others with wide smiles on their faces. The elves accepted the praise, Kali flourishing a grand bow while Mari more modestly dipped her head before the two took their leave. They would spend the night here, but they knew they needed to soon make their way to Ellesmera to report the current situation to the Queen, knowing she would not be pleased with their news.
